I love this place. Have a truly amazing staff. The food it's the closest to the Italian. I've had here in Aiken.. don't know of any other places. They're always busy., wish they had not closed their other location. Staff is always kind. Food is always hot and fresh. The only thing I wish is that they did not premix their ricotta. With parsley.. because my daughter is allergic to it.. so any dishes that they make with the premade stuff she cannot eat. I used to order from their store on the north side frequently. I loved their meatball sub. It was perfect and reminded me of the subs I used to get in the NYC area. The meatballs were spicy, they were topped with a generous amount of cheese, and the sub was toasted to perfection. It was always hot when it arrived. Since they closed that location, I ordered the meatball sub from their south side store, thinking it would be the same quality. It was NOTHING like the subs I used to get. First of all, it arrived cold (I guess that was to be expected of the further distance). second, it had BARELY ANY CHEESE, and the sub was NOT TOASTED. It was awful and barely edible. Place has gone down hill in an astounding way. Ordered 4 pizzas ($106 + $10 tip for takeout) at 1:24 PM. The order was taken by a lady who asked someone else how long it would be. The answer was 45 minutes. I sent my son to pick up the pizzas. After it had been an hour and 20 minutes I called him and he said he was still there waiting. I then immediately called the restaurant who told me he had left "5 minutes ago". I called him back. He was walking to the car which I confirmed via Life360. I feel like the response from the restaurant was dishonest. Either way it totally lacked any apology. When I called again to express my displeasure the manager, a man, told me he took the order and that I was quoted 45 minutes to an hour. Again, a lie. A lady took the order and I was 100% quoted 45 min. Either way it took 1:25. The manager ended up telling me "I would explain it if you would just shut up". I thought the new owner was going to keep Fernando's recipe. It's not!!! The crust is doughy,tough, and chewy. The jarred sauce is awful, and the fake cheese doesn't work. Where's the olive oil ? Eaten here many times with rarely a disappointment. I'll admit I prefer the Whiskey Road location over the Richland Ave. one because of the staff. They seem friendlier. I've had the pizza slices and their stomboli and both are very good. My favorite though is the lasagna with their house salad. The salad is not cheap, but very good. The lasagna is piping hot when brought to your table. If I have a complaint, and this doesn't happen often, would be that sometimes the crust on the pizza slices is burned and hard to chew. I have sometimes because of this ordered their 10" pizza which is equivalent to the 2 slices of their Grande Pizza. read more

Ordered cheese pizza with mushrooms, came out plain. They did bring us a separate plate of cooked mushrooms to add to the pizza manually ourselves ( did NOT offer to comp the pizza. Would not have accepted, but nice to have the choice). Only provided plastic disposable fork and knife utensils for dine in. We've been going here for 15+ years, and they always had metal utensils. How do you cut hot pizza with a plastic knife? Here's the best part, no salt and pepper shakers on the table, which was ok, but when asked took the staff 10 minutes to find. Midway through the meal another waitress asked if she could take the salt and pepper, I said I wasn't finished eating, would like to keep them. She said she needed them as they were the only ones they had, and she didn't know what happened to all of the other ones in the restaurant. Also noticed about 10 burnt out light bulbs on the ceiling fans in the dining area. Very strange for this restaurant, seems like no one cares. I hope they're not closing? I have been going to Ferrando's since they were in the "Valley".. then in the Alley in downtown Aiken. They are now located just off Whiskey road on the south side of Aiken. I've always liked their pizza (crust and toppings). Good people and good food. Highly recommend. read more

Went here for some pizza and pasta with some friends, food was fairly okay, couldve been seasoned way better, but the wait staff was horrid. She was judging all of us for our orders and being extremely condescending towards us, and just overall fairly rude the whole time compared to the other guests she was serving. The pizza is delicious and nice, big slices (we ordered an extra large...). I had requested "light on the sauce" and it was perfection. The bread sticks with garlic and marinara remain amazing, as does their sweet tea (don't get me started on their tea...so good....). Came in as a party of 5 just to try the place out. 5 minutes of being seated we witness a employee speaking to senior citizens in a very disrespectful way out loud in front of the everyone. We were not pleased with the employees actions and went to ask for our drink bill and the waitress had asked us why and we simply stated that we found it very rude and unprofessional to see a employee yelling at another customer in the dining area. Have been eating at Ferrando's since they were on Hwy 421. Tonight was one of the worst meals we have had!! Husband ordered the sausage sub with peppers and onions with sauce on the side. The sausage was half the size of the roll and had very few onions & peppers. He mentioned his disappointment and the manager said to order something else but that the kitchen was backed up. They didn't offer any other solution. He ate the sausage, left half the roll and won't order it again. My pizza was excellent as always. read more

My boyfriend and I went during a slow shift and only had one waitress. However, our food came out at a very timely manner. He and I just kept on talking and enjoyed ourselves. The food was nice and fresh as always. We have eaten at the one on Richland a few times and this is our first time at this one and everything was great. Good food, good atmosphere, and good service. Even though our waitress was by herself waiting on tables she did a very wonderful job at checking on every table she had (even though there were only 5-6 tables being used).
