First time experience. For the price (a modest $100/person), I would expect better. While the server was sweet and mostly attentive, she never told us about the specials, forgot a drink and we had to ask about the bread. I ordered the Australian Wagyu , it was okay, tasty but not tender. The side faux potato was awful. My partners pork chop was better. The crème brûlée was the best part. I'm still wondering if I would have preferred one of the specials. For the price of this meal I can go to other places such as Frog & Hen, or Cork & Flame, and get the crumbs scraped off my tablecloth with a knife. Sorry, but when a customer arrives expecting to pay top dollar for a meal, they expect the meal, the service and the atmosphere to be too notch as well. Brinkleys didn't hit that mark. read more

My friend recommended this place, so I checked it out for my birthday dinner and left not only with a full stomach, but an amazing experience. They have a valet system, so no worries about parking. Staff have been very professional and friendly, so 5/5 stars for that. I ordered the 8oz filet mignon, medium rare. Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly! It came with asparagus and mashed potatoes covered in a crispy layer of batter, which all complimented the steak well. I tried their tuna tartare, which had an interesting take on what the tuna was served on. I've always been used to tuna tartare being accommodated with bread, but this was sushi rice compacted and covered in some light batter. Felt like I was eating tuna sushi. Apply some of the sauces it comes with and seriously was fantastic. I also got to try 4oz of their Japanese A5 Wagyu. Super expensive; $80 dollars for four ounces, but worth the experience. You cook the thin pieces over a hot stone and apply some of the seasonings like salt it comes with. I cooked each side for about 30 seconds, sprinkled some salt, and it melted in my mouth! I ended my meal with their carrot cake and it was moist, not overly sweet, and had a great savory taste. I really enjoyed my time here and certainly will be back again. There is a bar and at the back of the restaurant, you can see the baseball field. Restrooms were clean, but only one stall from what I've seen in the men's room. The crab was cooked perfectly... not over cooked and mushy, perfectly tender and tasty. I was surprised at the large portion of the Lamb Rack ( then I remember the cost) then reality set in, these racks of lamb was soooo delicious. I will definitely get them again. Really surprised by this place. I do feel that the interior could have been a little nicer for an upscale steakhouse, but it was decent. The restaurant itself does feel inviting and clean. For me, just did not have that upscale restaurant feel. I got the steak that was cooked to order. The rest of my table also got steaks that were all cooked to order. The service was also friendly and very attentive. Overall, I know I knocked the interior a little, but the place is still very nice, and very clean. Brinkleys was recommended to me by a work colleague. I was greeted by the hostess with a "do you have a reservation?" I did not, but was ok to sit at the bar, and she showed me to a seat. It was at the end near all the Walt staff stations and pick up - so it was quite noisy and busy - but the staff was pleasant and accommodating. The bartenders who teamed up for my service were attentive, insightful, helpful and efficient. I had a salad, the corn side, and Kobe appetizer. All were amazing. I was staying across the street at the Crowne Plaza, so ordered the Faroe Island salmon to go... it was prepared perfectly with a terrific crust, and just the right amount of seasoning not to overpower the delicate beautiful flavor of the fish. Equally impressive was the broccolini I know, right I don't even like broccolini, but this was so good cooked again perfectly with this delicious garlic with a little bit of Parmesan. Holy cow then there was the corn risotto. I don't know it didn't have cheese in it, but it was really good. I think I even like it better without all the cheese! I got Bernaise sauce on the side-again perfectly prepared beautiful flavor and consistency! Next time I think I'll go into the restaurant and try one of those amazing steaks... When I write these reviews, obviously it's important to consider the quality:cost aspect. Certainly, an inexpensive pizza place can still have 5 stars even though you may never get what you would in a high end Italian restaurant because you can't compare apples to oranges.. So with that said, the food was decent but I think it fell short compared to what it cost. Two appetizers, 3 total drinks, and 2 entrees were about $265 (not including the tip). The food was decent but did not wow, though I do feel certainly that the ambiance was great and it would be a nice place for drinks. The view of the stadium was very fun as well. The steak tartare was very good, not the absolute best I've had but absolutely the best that I've had from this area. The burrata was tasty as well. The steak was the duck fat marinated ribeye, it had way too much salt so it was a bit difficult to appreciate its true taste. The summer in Italy drink was delicious, they did a nice job with it. Here's the other caveat, I had serious GI issues for about 36 hours following the meal. I don't think it quite qualified or felt like food poisoning but it was brutal. I'm never one to call out of work and I didn't but I was concerned that's where we were headed. I'm not sure the cause of it but it does make me somewhat hesitant to go back. Service was slow but our waiter was very nice, attentive and considerate. Overall, there are some perks and some downsides. Again, great bar vibe and fun views, but probably wouldn't do the whole meal again. read more

The one thing I didn't like, and you need to be aware of is that there is a 3% up charge if you use a credit card. I heard good things about this place so I've been wanting to come here for a long time. Does bread not come with the meal or is it extra charge if we ask for it? No idea because the waitress did not clarify and we therefore did not get any bread with our meal. The wagyu tasting appetizer was very mediocre and in my opinion not worth it. I would choose other appetizers instead. The hangar steak and filet mignon we got were both perfectly delicious. My filet didn't come with the potato croquette as promised and I had to ask for it after I noticed. When it finally came out, the potato croquette was basically a plain fried mashed potato ball. If you have the option to switch it out for another side, please do. We got the basque cheesecake for dessert and it was also very average. The end of the dinner left a bad impression when we were presented with the dinner total without an itemized bill and an additional credit card processing fee. After we asked for a receipt, they realized they charged us for an extra drink, which wouldn't have been caught otherwise. Also what's with the extra 3.5% credit card processing fee? This is supposed to be a high end restaurant, not nickel and diming people over a $200+ bill. read more

We have dined here several times. As always the service and food are great. My only complaint was this time they charged us a 3% fee for using a charge card to pay. Come on....really...I would expect this from a lower class restaurant, but not one of this class. Our dinner with tip came out to almost $400. This is only $12 extra, but it's the principle of it. We could of paid cash, but don't usually carry that much cash. If you have to pay by cash to avoid paying the extra expenses of the business then they will hurt themselves. You may come with a certain amount of cash and stay on budget hence them making less or the wait staff making less of a tip so you stay within the cash you have on you. Sad to see business of this class trying to nickel & dime customers. read more

To dine here for a connoisseur of quality food is as a art lover to visit the Louvre in Paris. Although there is no admission fee here (but there is valet parking), I would gladly pay one if that were required. I will first mention that the setting, ambiance, and staff are the exemplification of excellence and anticipation. You have high hopes, and then you enter to see they are ten steps ahead of you. The table setting with the pristine wine glasses and fresh flowers beckon you to settle in for a few hours. This is not the kind of place you stop by en route to an event. This is the main event! My evening began with the 4 ounce Wagyu strip served raw and thinly sliced, accompanied by a 700 degree salt block. There is no wrong way to eat this, except overcooking the meat. At most, 5 seconds on both sides. But I recommend simply sliding it across the surface of the block for a few seconds then experiencing this ecstasy on a fork. The only other menu item I will mention here, as most I had were seasonal, is the 14 ounce prime ribeye. Of course you know the meat will be tender and the fat will be rendered, due to the natural marbling. But here's the pièce de résistance; it is marinated in duck fat...for 30 days! It is a rare occasion when I am unable to express what I am tasting and the emotions washing over me while eating. This is such an occasion. It is a moment (well, a few moments as I forced myself to savory each bite slowly) I have spoke of often and will not forget. As the saying goes "treat yourself" and visit here soon. read more

Between courses the manager came out to ask if we would like to be reseated at a different location (a rowdy party had been seated in the room adjacent to us)...we gladly accepted and were impressed by the proactive approach. Yelp asks what went well?? Well...everything went well from the moment I valet parked my car during a busy Thursday evening at SRP ball park, to how quickly I found a seat at the bar, the service from the two very professional bartenders who sparked interesting conversation while providing superb service and the rest of the staff who made my entire meal experience feel like I was watching a well rehearsed ballet. The restaurant was busy but not crowded and had a nice buzz and ambiance about the place, not too loud and not too quiet. My caprese watermelon salad, 16 ounce Duck Fat Delmonico, and chocolate dessert were all excellent and the steak cooked to perfection and accompanied by a tasty vegetable risotto. Sean the manager stopped by to check on me and my experience as well. I will definitely be back and bring my friends. Oh, and when I left to retrieve my car from the valet, they were prompt and courteous, which we need more of this day and age. It's well worth the drive across the bridge from Augusta to experience Brinkley's Chophouse, if I could give it six stars instead of five I would, it was that good!!! read more

This was my second time here and I was well pleased with this experience as well. I dined with a group of girlfriends for a birthday celebration and we had a great time. Ally, our server, was great! She offered great suggestions. I had two glasses of Meiomi Pinot Nair. I'm a moscato drinker and this red wine was simply amazing. It was slightly sweet, as I don't care for dry red wines (it was an Ally suggestion by the way). I had the spring rolls for my appetizer. They were ok. It seems the flavor came from the sauce not the roll. For dinner, I ordered the Pork Chop (med well). It was cooked perfectly with the right amount of crunch on the exterior. It was paired with a broccoli salad and cornbread which were great compliments. However, I am not a fan of the BBQ vinaigrette that came with it. I also had the loaded mashed potatoes (nothing special about them but the presentation). Lastly, we got the dessert board (she called it a name, I don't remember). That was really good as well. As for the ladies, they ordered the following: 1. Wings (absolutely no flavor, my opinion) 2. Empanadas (very tasty) 3. Shrimp (she really liked them) 3. The corn and bacon (she really like it) 4. Mac & cheese (they liked it) 5. Chicken Breast (she liked it) 6. The Burger (she liked it) All in all, we all really enjoyed the experience and food. Our reservation was for 5:45 and we were a little early and the happily sat us. The dinner specials were on point and we started with the lamb Thones. My husband ordered the softball sirloin steak with Mac and cheese. I ordered the filet mignon with a potato cake and asparagus. We shared a banana split for dessert. The service was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Our server Corey was the best!
