I want to love it. Been a few times and it's got SO much potential. The menu is solid but the execution varies... the staff is enthusiastic and kind, but the service average on efficiency overall - not a pass, just noticeably a bit under-trained. My biggest annoyance? I want to be able to stop in for gelato in my neighborhood and the 3 times I've done so the gelato has been either completely out of stock except 1-2 flavors, and/or whatever flavor I choose has been improperly stored in some way with icy freezer burned spots. Not sure if they are making too much, storing wrong, or what is happening but it doesn't make it great. I do love the little Italian market items and the wine shop and tastings and they have some live music it seems sometimes. Could use better lighting and coziness overall too. I'll get back to keep trying bc I like it overall but I'm hoping they work out these kinks as they are open longer. read more

I see that someone else had a similar experience as me. I'm a foodie and went with another big foodie. We were drastically underwhelmed. Both of us went in without expectations too, and had not known an influencer had come before to hype it up. In a nutshell: food was mid and overpriced for quantity, service was weird and super slow. I came at 630, food made it to the table at 736. Granted, I was new and took a bit of time to look at the menu but in that time no one gave me water (they finally put one on my table like 20min into it) and they could've told me there was a water station in the corner. No recommendations until I asked, even tho I'm new. Only the lady waitress was super excited about wine, and when I entered she loudly greeted me in front of the other guests who all turned and looked at me....awkward. She asked me like 3x if I wanted wine and did recommend wines. It was not busy, one other table in the dining room, maybe 1-2 patrons in the bar area. The market section is cute. I put in my order close to 7pm and got the sandwich at 736. That's kind of a long time for what looked like 3 people behind the counter putting together a sandwich. I ordered a dino 1 panini and the other waitress who took my order used her hands to simulate the size...making it seem a lot bigger than it was. I was disappointed that for $17 I got these DRY baguette-ends with some meat (the good thing is the meat was at least fresh and thinly sliced) and stuff. I've eaten plenty in NYC before and this is not comparable. I also noticed later I was supposed to get a pickle but that did not happen. My friend got a lasagna and even on glp1 he can usually eat quite well. However that day, he couldn't even finish half the lasagna citing it was super salty. I've never seen that happen with him. Really wanted to like this place but hard to think about returning unless I have hours of free time to wait around. read more

We went for an early breakfast, so there were plenty of parking spots available. However, the restaurant is located in a plaza with other businesses and entertainment venues, so I can see the parking lot filling up quickly during busier hours. There's also additional parking across the street if needed. It was our first time visiting, and we came on the recommendation of a foodie friend who especially encouraged us to try the gelato. Unfortunately, the cookies & cream flavor was so popular that they had sold out and hadn't restocked yet, so we tried the coconut instead. It ended up being a very pleasant surprise. It's rare for me to find such flavorful coconut gelato at a non-Asian restaurant. The taste was rich and authentic, very close to real coconut rather than the artificial-flavored versions. We had: - Prosciutto di Parma panini: I know prosciutto is typically served cold, but I was happy that the sandwich itself was warm overall. Next time, I'd probably ask for the cheese to be melted more. - Chicken Parmesan panini - Build-your-own cheese pizza with tomato sauce: very satisfying, though next time I may ask if they can make an all cheese version without the tomato sauce. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. The panini was packed with thick slices of prosciutto, and I actually had to take most of my meal home because it was a bit too many for breakfast. Since we arrived very early, we were the only dine in customers at the time. The restaurant has that cozy, neighborhood establishment atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable right away. The gentleman who took our order and seemed to be managing the restaurant was incredibly friendly and attentive. We could feel the warmth and hospitality throughout the visit. We really enjoyed our experience and definitely plan to come back sometime to try the dinner menu. Highly recommended! read more

We found this place by accident after one of our reservations was canceled because of a street festival, and it turned out to be a great discovery. We were greeted by Fernando, who was warm, welcoming, and incredibly hospitable from the start. We had our hearts set on items from the lunch menu, even though that time had passed, and Fernando made it happen anyway. He genuinely wanted us to have the fresh meal we were craving, and he delivered. I ordered the chicken parmesan, and it was excellent. Every bite was satisfying, and the side of marinara really hit the spot. The atmosphere throughout the restaurant felt warm and inviting. We also had the chance to meet Paul, the owner, who was just as friendly and down to earth. This place made a great impression on us, and we will definitely be back. read more

This is not your normal wine shop. We went for their valentine's dinner and it was excellent. It was $80 for dinner and wine pairing. Each dish was excellent and the wine was great too. This is a very laid back vibe so if you go in be prepared to be patient with service. It wasn't outstanding service but it wasn't bad. They seemed to not have a lot of organization around their service but it worked. We sat at the bar area and had a great time chatting with the staff. They are relatively new so I think they are still working on some things. Even with that, I thought it was an amazing evening. They said they have live music every Friday and Saturday, and you can do wine tastings any day of the week. I can't wait to go back for live music and wine tasting. read more

For all sandwiches it says it comes with arugula, or a green lettuce and a vinaigrette. Mine nor my husband's came with either of that, even after we requested at the checkout counter. There is no flavor on the sandwich and hardly any organization in here. It was astounding how under and poorly staffed they are. Our sandwiches were on the counter for 10 minutes before they were brought to us, total time from ordering to getting the sandwich was 30 minutes. So by the time we got them, we were starving, the food was lukewarm but there's hardly anything in it-- as in I could've made this at home. I can't believe this was such a disappointment for a potential neighborhood gem. I hope they can improve in the coming months for other patrons. read more

I tried one of the pizzas after JR highly recommended it and I'm so glad I listened to him. The pizza crust was incredible and the toppings were delicious. I'm officially obsessed! I also enjoyed the wine tasting of the week and the selections were perfectly curated. And what makes it even better is that it's right in my neighborhood! This may be my third review of Cucina Baci, but there's a reason for it. This small hideaway on Peachtree has its third chef. The first one, Jeremy, was excellent. Second one was a brief affair, deservedly. Now this tiny restaurant/ wine bar/ takeout has hit pay dirt. New chef Hector is very much the real deal. He's Italian through and through. He looks the part and is turning out the best, most authentic Italian food in Atlanta. If you haven't been there, go. If you have been and felt just okay about it, go again. It's quirky, friendly, casual, totally Italian. My favorite pastas: bolognese, vodka sauce, cacio et pepe (first good one I've had outside Italy), lasagna. Ask about specials. Get the eggplant. Same for meatballs. There's been a lot of turnover on this stretch of Peachtree. Don't let this one get away. It's a jewel. read more

This place deserves 0 stars. The place is filthy. They have rotten food on display. I reached into the cheese case and everything was moldy and expired. It smells like sewage, I happened to look into the room next the bar because I was looking for the bathroom and what I saw made me walk out, get into my car and drive fast to the nearest pharmacy so I can get something for my stomach. Service was decent. A lot of hun, love, sweetie and touching. Not a fan but she's trying. I also looked into the glass case that the Chef pulls product from. I know that they are closed 2 days of the week according to the website, I came on a Wednesday and there was lasagna barely covered, and dry in a dirty case. I assume that it was from a week prior. I wouldn't trust the food. They need to close down and walk away. They can get people sick! read more

Ingredients were delicious. Bread in sandwiches was fresh and the star. All of the meats and toppings were delicious and well prepared. We ordered our sandwiches to go and were surprised when we got home that they were each wrapped with a pickle. I dislike pickles so having the whole sandwich taste like a pickle was a huge turn off. At a minimum, I wish they would have said something or noted it on the menu. Either way, it was weird having a pickle in a very traditional Italian sandwich. Additionally, my wife ordered her sandwich without an ingredient she has an allergy to. Sure enough when we got home, the sandwich was filled with it. The person taking our order acknowledged when she ordered without the ingredient, and were the only people in the shop, so that was a disappointing miss. My wife and I were visiting from out of state, staying in Midtown near Buckhead and we were looking for a nice Italian restaurant to eat at on a Saturday night. We found Cucina Baci online and found out that they were having wine tasting going on. We sampled two reds and a white. All were good. For dinner, we both had the Italian Grain Salad and my wife had the Carbonara. She finished her plate and didn't save any for me. She obviously enjoyed it very much. I had the Pomodoro Basilico. The gravy was so good that I put in an order of garlic bread to help sop it up. If you're looking for a great little Italian place in Buckhead, come to Cucina Baci. It's a small place and takes a little patience to get there as it's behind the building and down below, but it's well worth the journey. An added bonus, they sell some very nice wines and foods from Italy that you probably won't find anywhere else in Atlanta. Plus, you can a get a quart of freshly made gravy (sauce), to go. I've been to this place a couple of times & absolutely love it! If you want old school Italian made with the freshest ingredients, you must go here. It truly reminds me of the great Italian places in the north that I grew up loving. They have a nice variety of items on the menu. I've tried the sandwiches, meatballs, lasagna & pizza - all have been perfectly delicious. The pizza is quite unusual for around here - the crust is medium thick (not quite Sicilian) but light & fluffy but crispy - excellent! What a find! Cool spot tucked away with amazing food, ambiance and service. The strawberry gelato is off the charts. bursting with real strawberry flavor.
