Nice little neighborhood market I highly recommend and they are have a hot food kitchen in the back

We are always satisfied with this market. Being from L.A., I'm a sucker for a great Carniceria. The pastries here are exactly what I was looking for. The meats were fresh and delicious! I also really love homemade tortillas. They just have so much more flavor than store bought. I was happy to see a few family brands that I so miss since I left L.A. But the vest part was the produce! If you can't find avos in the reg stores, go to Cuevas! They seem to always have them. I also make a lot out of Anaheim chiles and they are hard to find. Cuevas has a ton! They also have some hot foods at the back of the store. I haven't tried it so far but I'm wanting to check out their chile rellenos! If you're tired of the boring big grocery stores and want some really great items to make a badass Mexican food spread, go here!! read more

Been going here for years and have no idea why. Was wanting to read reviews and they already speak for them selves. Every cashier for the last 10 years have been rude as F###!!! $.99 lb for banana's...WTF?? not even organic. Smiths down the street is 0.55 lb. Meat...Asada or Chicken is so over priced I just don't buy it anymore. Last weekend I went in for salsa. 2 salsas- 1 guac and a bag of chips was $28.00...Fugging crooks with a bad attitude...IM DONE ! Love this place! Everyone is friendly and helpful. They have a nice little eating area and a great menu of hot foods.

None of the women that work here are friendly. I'm Hispanic and speak fluent Spanish and they all were so rude. The meat counter guy was the only nice one. They are overpriced, wanted to support small but guess I'll keep going to Cardenas. read more

22MAY2022 visit 3:30 P.M. Dropped by for some marinated meat. I picked up some pork chops. They didn't have any ranchera so The Butcher told me he could prepare some for me. This man has skills and had everything ready for me in a matter of minutes. The Butcher is very amicable and if you ask, he can give some good recommendations like he did on last weeks visit for some good tortillas. He is also Bilingual as he speaks English and Spanish. We then dropped by the restaurant section to place an order for ceviche and a Burrito to go. The lady who served me was really nice and attended to my order rather quickly. While my food was being prepared a semi chubby woman (with black and grey hair) with an angry walk asked the lady preparing my food who needed to pay (in Spanish.) When she walked up to the cashier, I greeted her in Spanish and her reply was to ask me in English, "is that it!?" with an excessively incensed attitude. She then mumbled and blurted out the total price which was hard to understand. I asked her " cuánto?" (how much?) in Spanish and she angrily shouted it out the price in English. One persons attitude may reciprocate in kind and can rub off very easily. I can see why people give this place bad reviews despite having delicious fast food and excellent meat choices. I walked up to the cashier and paid for my groceries. The lady at the register treated me very well. Keep in mind that when you go to this little market, you won't know until you know, who is Dr Jekyll or Mr(s) Hyde. I hope you have a better visit than this one was for me. read more

Love this little market/eatery/panderia. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The market is always quiet and laid back. Their meat always looks exceptional, the Mexican baked goods are always fresh and yummy, the market has the things I need in a pinch and the little eatery has one of the BEST Carne Asada and Breakfast burritos I've ever put in my mouth. After moving from the north side of town , I was search for a good Mexican butcher . Cuevas does not disappoint , its meat variety is amazing the seasoning and quality of cuts . Nice place. I like it. Tried tacos de Chorizo, Cabeza y Butche. Cabeza y Butche i give it 3 1/2 stars out of 5 but the Butche was pretty good 4 stars. Just Chorizo felt like some other type of meat that tasted more like ground beef that's been there for too long and the Cabeza just barely had any flavor. It was too soft. However, id probably buy those tacos more than I would at la Bonita food. Just felt street like tacos. Didn't really like that the main essentials were pure Goya brands. Wish they had alternatives to just one type of brand. A whole aisle dedicated to Goya. Liked that the bread had different ones mixed in unlike other stores that just put in one type of bread. Bought some flan it was okay. Definitely was not expecting pure white people walking in seeing its a Hispanic store, but I guess it's because it's in Henderson. The layout felt nice. If they got rid of all that Goya brand that felt like it was bought in bulk I think the store would be nicer. Edit: After reading the comments, yeah the blonde cashier was quiet and in a hurry to bag our stuff because it was kinda busy, but yeah I think if we tried to make a convo it be friendly I'd get the same treatment like everyone else. The last four times I've been there all I pick up is tacos. For myself, for my family and for friends. First time I was charging an extra fee for using my debit card. Second time I use my debit card and had no fee. She got my order wrong. Very simple three carne asada tacos extra cilantro extra lime to go. She spoke to me in spanish. I don't speak Spanish we poquito. I repeated my order the cook understood me and again it was wrong. Not much! If I'm a customer . Treat me like a customer and don't single me out! Best place to go for chicken or meat! We always get meats here for tacos. The flavor is so good! There are so many varieties of meats, some seasoned and some aren't. They also have a good assortment of fresh salsas and pico de Gallo. The fresh tortilla chips are bomb! The pastries are also very good and enticing. The blonde cashier is trash. They are all rude but the short ugly one who thinks she's too good for the world is the worst. (Was rude to my child) so I had an issue and spoke to her like she spoke to us. She bagged meat with veggies if that isn't a huge mistake idk what is. I reached over told her to give me another bag I separated my food because she just couldn't process what I was requesting. The food is decent but not great enough to go back. I'll head to La Bonita or El super next time atleast they have great prices and people who speak to you like a human being when you're paying. I'm a pleased peach with their meat selection. This market is a ways away from the rest of the Vegas Valley but for me when I come visit my fella it's a hop skip and an jump. The prices are right, quality is good and the flavors are next to perfection. Produce has not disappointed me either. If you are in the area swing by and grab some meat to grill and don't forget their guacamole! My only pet peeve is the majority's their alcohol selection is beer lol to most that probably won't be a issue. This place is a hidden Gem! I lived near here for several months before finding out about it. It is an an older strip mall and might not look appealing from the outside but is a very clean and full market on the inside. There is a full meat case inside with all kinds of cuts, some marinated some without. Always fresh and reasonably priced. A kitchen in the back serves hot foods and aqua frescas. I have tried a few items from this food bar and have not been disappointed yet. A bakery are with specialty cookies and desserts. There are aisles with basic shopping needs. there produce is plentiful and always a large variety and supply. I couldn't be happier to have this so close to where i live and will continue to support/frequent this market! read more

Great meat selection, good seasoning on their meats, nice produce selection as well as salsas and guacamole made in house. Hot food is delicious, the ladies that work back there are very helpful. The guys at the meat counter are always pleasant and willing to help. Not a huge selection of pastries but it does the job. My issue is with the rude, short, fat, blonde lady at the check out. If you ask her a question, you'd be lucky to get a response. She's always on her Bluetooth talking to somebody and never greets or says a word to clients. On a positive note, La Bonita just opened on the corner of Sunset and Green Valley Parkway. I went out of my way to go shopping there, just to see if the experience would be worth going there instead of Cuevas. Boy, was I surprised, everyone is great, willing to help, nice, will greet you, ask how you're doing and wish you a fantastic day on your way out. With that said, I think I'm 100% done going to Cuevas. You shouldn't have to put up with rude people when you're spending your hard earned dollars. Before covid they has some of the best tamales in town. Since then, the tamales are much smaller and have about half of the meat. They have also raised their prices. I understand raising the prices but the quality should remain the same. It is a shame because they use to be good. Will never get tamales from there again. read more

Personally, I hate getting anything here.. The overpriced products. The disrespectful customer service. (Yes, I'm talking about the infamous rude blonde cash register lady..lol) It's unprofessional and pathetic to see the business take advantage of being the "only mexican meat market in Henderson" by having high prices. Then again.. it's not your friendly neighborhood Walmart. So lower your expectations for this place. Like for example.. $4 for one tiny cup of flan? Come on now...you're doing these people dirty! It's a family owned business and they could care less of how you've been treated or what you think. They know they can do whatever they want with no consequences. If cannot tolerate their rudeness, give them a taste of their own medicine. I just can't wait for La Bonita to open in Green Valley so that I can slowly see Cuevas go out of business. But for now, I'll continue to shop at La Bonita or Mariana's in Las Vegas. It's worth the drive and your money. This business has one of the worst customer service I've ever had here in Vegas. I bought a tres leches cake that cost $33 thought it would be worth the price. I was VERY disappointed on the quality! This cake was so dry and full of frosting, I will never buy their cakes again, their meat is decent but not worth the drive. I called the next day and they said we're sorry but we can't do anything for you without the original recent, I offered to take it back to prove it's intact they said no that doesn't work for us. I don't recommend their pastry/pan dulce that place is not the cleanest, & their customer service one of the worst possible. read more

The costumer service is downright amazing. Me, my daughter, and mom went here to get some beans and fresh meat for canning and dinner. As we went to get beans, we saw a man with a bag of pinto beans and one bag of regular beans. I asked him if we could buy the bag of regular beans instead of having to manually scoop them ourselves. He was very nice about the request and turned to the lady's behind him if he could sell by bag. They nodded and we bought the beans.
