We initially tried to reserve a golf cart with Carlos Rental, but they couldn't guarantee availability until the day of, so we decided to go with Culebra UTV instead--and we're glad we did! Their prices were cheaper than most, and since we only drove to one breakfast spot, the beach, and back, we didn't even have to pay for gas. The staff was super friendly, and they even offered us a ride back if we had taken the ferry, which we didn't, but it was still a nice gesture. The basic golf cart was decent--a bit slow to accelerate at first, but overall, it was a great way to get around. The rental office is just a block from the airport, making it an easy walk. We decided to rent a golf cart when we arrived at Culebra. We felt it would be more convenient and flexible than depending on a taxi. We didn't have a reservation, but there were plenty of carts available. October is low season. As such, we rented them at a lower cost. We rented their mid tier carts. It was perfect. Ran well with zero issues. Customer service was good. Returning them was also simple. Just drop it off. They offer to drive you to the ferry. My only issue was that they require you to return the carts 3/4ths full tank. If you don,t they charge you $10 per 1/4 tank, which they take from the $100 deposit. What they didn't tell me was that the gas stations close at 3pm on weekends. Since I didn't have to return the cart until 4 I left the apt after 3. So I'm getting back $90 instead of $100. Not the worst thing in the world, but I would have appreciated if they had let me know. Hopefully this will help whoever reads this review. read more

Awful experience. Gave us a cart where the headlights didn't work properly - dangerous at night time. We left early in morning to leave to ferry and cart wouldn't go forward . Called UTV - no answer the first 3 times. Then they yelled at me because I couldn't share location. Finally got cart to go but had to leave cart at ferry because we were late. Called UTV to see if they could pick it up there - they wouldn't assist in picking up cart. Employee was awful - just insisted on charging us $100 for penalty. Culebra was awesome - just don't let a company that doesn't care about their customers ruin your time. Try to rent from anyone but them. read more

$119 for 2 hrs use which is fine. The problem, when we met them at the ferry they took us to the location and informed us we would be brought back to the ferry. Fast forward to the return and they say they can only take the main driver. No Ubers in this location . No Lyft. Call the list of people they put as taxi service nobody answers . We end up having to walk all the way back to the ferry and barely make it during boarding time. Would not use this predatory service again. read more

Had a horrible experience with this company. The front glass or sign as they call it fell off and brakes. They are keeping our $200 deposit because its exactly estimated to be over their $250 damage. Worst place to rent from. They gave us a faulty cart and when we said it didn't run right they said if I give them more money I could get one that ran better. We ordered the beach plan that ended up not fitting on the cart. They refused to refund us any money at all. I would give it no stars if I could. Don't use them. I wish I hadn't. read more

It is the worst place I have ever known to rent a car!! first of all they make you wait for an hour outside in full sun even though I had reserved and payed a golf car 3 months ago. They treated me horrible and the child (because they are all minors!) gave me the worst golf car they had! He treated me bad because I asked him things about the car. I refused take it because nothing worked, no seat belts, broken lights, a mess. I insisted so much that they gave me another crap golf car in a little better condition but it had practically no brakes! super dangerous and in very bad shape! Experience was really good. Due to high volume, they can usually only pick up the driver and take them to the rental place because there's so many people arriving on the island off the ferry at once. They made an exception for us and lots of other people so it was more convenient. All the workers were really nice and welcoming. The process for renting a golf cart was really fast, 10 minutes or less. The golf cart itself worked pretty good. Lots of pot holes and bumps so it's not like you can go too fast anyway. It can only go so fast uphill, but definitely can still drive up one. Daniel helped explain everything and gave us a ride back to the ferry. I felt really safe the entire time on the golf cart too. I would definitely rent from them again. The bad reviews gotta be karen's because it was 10/10. Try it for yourself before you trust them. read more

Found them from a google search because we waited last minute to book two golf carts a few days before our trip to culebra. Other companies on the island didn't respond to our emails requesting to rent.. probably they didn't have any ?! When we arrived to culebra and realized we really needed the golf carts for two days the ladies in the rental office worked hard to switch things around to make it happen for us .. very appreciative!! Also they are so helpful and prompt with communication and pickups and drop off at our hotel . I would definitely recommend this company to anyone visiting culebra ! read more

STAY AWAY!!!! This place gave us a cart that was faulty. Drove it to dinner same night we rented it and it never restarted. The battery was dead. It was after hours so we sent an email explaining the situation. We had to move it off the road and on to the sidewalk (no street parking) where it was SAFE and CLEAR of a very obvious driveway. The next day, we received a parking ticket of $200. They claimed we "blocked" the driveway. Despite having proof of photos and videos of the cart being obviously parked AWAY from the driveway, they refused to deduct the ticket from our bill. I smell something fishy! One of the worst rental companies I've used. There are cheaper options on the island with much better customer service. I recommend avoiding this company. What happened: The rental company closes at 5 p.m. I took the 3:30 boat from the main island and informed them I was on this boat. Unfortunately, the boat was 10 mins late and when I arrived, they were nowhere to be found to pick me up (of note, other companies who close at 5 were there waiting for their customers). I then had to pay $20 to get a taxi to my hotel and later $20 to go back the next day. They refused to give a refund, despite me doing everything right. The employees were also apathetic to the situation, grumpy, and unapologetic. read more

We spent over an hour waiting to be picked up at the ferry dock 3 miles away after being given three different definite times to be picked up. We called over 6 times (because they refuse to answer the phone). We ended up having to take a $20 taxi and arriving after our rental was supposed to start. When we arrived they claimed they were never told we were ready to be picked up. We were given a golf cart with a broken windshield. Just don't. We reserved a golf cart well in advance of our trip to Culebra, called to confirm 3 days before our arrival, and then called when we arrived on the island as scheduled. They told us that we had cancelled our reservation weeks ago and they had refunded us. This was not true, and we hadn't received a refund. The woman we talked to was adament that we check our email for the cancellation that was supposedly sent to us weeks ago. We tried to explain that we had confirmed our reservation over the phone 3 days ago. Immediately after we got off the phone, we received a cancellation email. DON'T!! We reserved from 9 am until 3 pm.. We reserved online prior to visit.. when we got to Vieques ferry pier they were there waiting for us. We thought this was going to run smooth the bus filled up quickly.. however they just stood around worried about making last min sales at the pier while we sat in a van that wasn't running... 9:45 am came and we were still sitting at the pier.. then they made some of us get off and wait for the next shuttle.. because they needed the drivers first. Ok 3 of our group of 6 got off and waited for the next shuttle. 10:25 am we were finally on the next shuttle. We got to UTV and was finally able to use the golf cart at 10:54 am. At 1:40 pm we return the golf cart to catch the 3:00 pm ferry. The lady yelled at us and said we were to have it back at 1:30.. we told her we rented it until 3:00 pm and we're back earlier then what they told us to catch the ferry back. They were extremely rude and when asked if they were going to shuttle us back they told us we probably should call a taxi service. We paid around $140 for the golf cart and fees drive around for under 2 hours and 45 mins even though we had booked for 6 hours and planned for 5 hours. The taxi cost us an additional $5 per person to get back to the pier. read more

Upon returning the utv, the informed me that I would get my deposit back within 3-5 business days. Do not rent from UTV Rental at Vieques... they are terrible and have no sense of what customer service is!!! We went for a 1-day trip with limited time. Promised to be on-time for pick-up but we had to wait for over 20 minutes at Ferry Terminal and their van did not showed. Had to take and pay a taxi to get to their rental facilities. When arrived, Caroline (front-desk manager) was on the phone and had us waiting for more than 10 minutes without even asking how could she help us. Then she treated us in a very nasty manner. The car was not ready, it was dirty inside and outside. Additionally their asked for a $500 security deposit and did not accepted a certicate of liability I presented from my insurance. Went dropped the rental-car no one was available to take us to the terminal. They were late again! Showed to the Teminal photo-finish. Very expensive - $126 for for a KIA Seltos. Thieves! I'll keep this short. My boyfriend and I were recommended this spot by a local cab driver who called his friend at UTV rental to get us a "good price" for a golf cart rental. The price he negotiated for us was, in fact, very good, so we paid for a 3 day rental and signed a contract. Luckily we took a photo of the contract (since they never gave us a copy) because on the day we returned the golf cart, a different employee tried to charge us for another day, claiming that our original contract was only for 2 days. The crook had cut off the top of the contract I'd signed, left the bottom of the page with my signature on it, and then printed a different contract at the top for only a 2 day rental. I was alarmed by the trickery, so I pulled out my phone to show them the photo of the original contract. They were left speechless. Furthermore, they tried to charge extra for gas when we, in fact, returned it more full than when we got it. Beware of these guys! There are two spots within a one block radius that also rent carts. Go there. And always ask for a copy of your contract or photograph it! read more

They need to be straight forward on the phone when it comes to reservations. I called them 2 weeks before arrival and was told I don't need one and to just come to the booth upon landing. We did and told sorry we sold out and we shouldve reserved in advance. You kidding me? It took asking a third time if anything freed up and eventually they took us to main office half a block away because one was available. We got there and surprise they told we are sold out. We explained how we just were brought over because one became available so the girl moved to a different desk and gave us one! It was an unnecessary waste of time for us. If I could do 0 stars, I would too. The first cart ran rough as if it had a fuel line blockage. When my husband returned it, a young man was skeptical but rode with him and agreed, it was not running well. All good. EXCEPT, when we extended our return from Friday to Sundayand paid an additional 2 days, they didnt change the paperwork but stapled the visa receipt to the paperwork. (My husband went in person as we knew their English was not too good.) Now we were set to return the cart on Sunday. Imagine our panic on Sunday morning as we headed out to breakfast, the cart was GONE! We called UTV first to let them know it was stolen, to discover they had taken the cart. (We couldnt lock it up as the cable key didnt work and they told us not to worry about that.) They had the cart due on Friday and they repossessed it. 45 minutes later they picked up my husband to take hime back. He showed the paper work and they gave him a cart with barely any fuel and we would have to add gas. Ours had more than we needed to our planned beach visit that day. So now we had a stress of a missing cart, lost our breakfast plan and would have to pay extra to go to the beach. No apologies in person. When I did complain by email, I got an apology but not compensation for our lost day. BTW we realized they didnt call us as they have not completed the paperwork and had no address or phone numbers. But to take the cart in the night - really? After hearing our story, other locals said, they had heard other bad stories. read more

Really bad service, the club cars are not in good condition. If your not aware of any previous damage the car has at the time of signing contract they will not write some of these damages in the contract to charge you for "damaging" the car at the time of returning it. read more

This business operates out of a trailer a block away from the airport. The golf carts vary in age, and mechanical condition. The cart we were given was in pretty bad shape, and when one of the tires got a flat, we were charged $15. The tire was obviously bald, and beyond its usable life. When it came time to return the cart, I dropped my wife at the airport, and headed over to the rental place, and they were closed during normal business hours, with the gate locked, no note, and nobody answering the phone. I ended up leaving it at the airport, with the help of an employee there. On top of this they charged me for 6 days, when I was only there for 5. read more
