Every time I'm in Mexico, this is the restaurant I come back to. I pretty much order the exact same entrée every visit -- bacon-wrapped shrimp smothered in Alfredo sauce -- and somehow it's just as good every single time. Absolute comfort food done right. My friend ordered the sea bass special of the day, and it was an amazing piece of fish executed perfectly. Fresh, flavorful, and cooked beautifully. Portions were huge... so much food that even Coco got a little sample. I've been around, and honestly, if this place were in Scottsdale, it would be packed every night and charging double the price. Food was spectacularly plated. Flavorfull, Great Chef! Ambiance was cozy and rich. Staff was friendly and helpful. I reduced one star due to them rushing us through our food: collecting plates before we were finished eating, removing drink glasses with drinks still in them. They took my husband's napkin out from under him so I gave him mine, which they removed instantly when he took his eye off it...Literally less than one minute later. But still I would recommend, just keep in mind, like chess, you take your hand off it - your move is over...lol. read more

My friends and I visited Bucerias for a week and ate here our last night in town. We wished we would have tried this place sooner so we could have eaten here more than once! The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was beautiful and newly remodeled. They had a variety of foods to choose from and a full bar with local beer on tap. We began with blackberry blue cheese martinis and ceviche molido, pulpo carppacio with delicious citrus and arugula vinaigrette, & rosemary perfumed Caesar salad. This dining experience ended up being great! Drinks came out a bit slow, but to be fair we ordered a range of wine, margs, martinis etc. The presentation of the beat and pear salad was beautiful!! And the mahi mahi entree that I had was delicious and perfectly cooked. Others at the table enjoyed the seafood pasta, filet and a few others. All guest were pleased. The espresso martinis and desserts were a great way to finish the evening and perhaps the tequila tasting closed it out with a bang. Without a doubt the best dining experience in Bucerias. A little off the beaten path but worth the trip. The tuna appetizer was so fresh that it tasted like it was caught this morning. Staff and service is great! Shout out to Pancho at the bar. He is the finest bartender in the area! We ate here a few months back and I've been intending to finish my review. We loved our meal here. As usual, I ordered the steak and while it was flavorful, it didn't have that nice "crust" that I enjoy so much. My guy ordered the bone-in pork chop and I've decided that's what I'm getting next time. We enjoyed this meal with a couple we met while cruising Baja California and it was much more enjoyable sharing this great meal (they recommended the restaurant). The bottle of wine was superb! In one word, outstanding. The service was excellent, even though the restaurant was packed. My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal with some of the best sangria I've had in a very long time. My husband had the catch of the day, mahi-mahi in a poblano sauce over pasta, and I had the fettuccine Alfredo. We capped the evening off with a delightful chocolate mousse. We had Caesar salad, caprese salad, mixed butterfly shrimp and bacon/cheese wrapped shrimp, pasta with fish. Fancy chocolate mousse with whipped cream and spun golden sugar. The positives. - Pleasant reception/ hostess upon arrival. Nice first impression. Ezikiel was also very pleasant and attentive. -Food prepared could be exhibited in an art museum. Quite elaborate and original - complimentary ceviche to start with crackers. Very nice way to start the meal -The service was very professional and attentive. More than once staff came over to see if we needed anything and were pleased. Never rushed. -The two of us were fortunate to have a large booth with more than enough room and away from the busy traffic of staff moving thru -The decor is modern and attractive. Very creative light fixtures -An abundance of staff to ensure food prepared in a timely manner and service is available at all times -The food portions are plentiful and generous -Overall the food is very good. Fresh. Tasty. More on this later. - It appeared that three women were the chefs and in charge of the kitchen. Brava! - When finished with dinner we were asked if we needed a cab and one was called for us Other observations - You cannot put the tip on your charge card. Must be cash. - The location is awful. I'll leave it at that. If I owned the restaurant I would do whatever it takes to get more centralized and on or near beach. This would elevate the entire dining experience - Prices are a bit high but worth what you get. Except. We ordered one bottle of water and it was about $7 USD or so. -I think there were 3 pieces of lettuce in the Caesar salad. Quite scimpy given price and very low cost of lettuce. add two more to create a better salad at perhaps an additional cost of $.05. - The fish on the pasta was "swimming/smothered" in sauce. And bland. Waaaay too much sauce. We brought the leftover back to the hotel for lunch today and literally washed the sauce off before heating. The caprese salad also had too much oil. I believe less would be better and add to taste. The very fancy chocolate dessert was dry and pasty and didn't have much flavor. - It was very noisy. Most restaurants like it like that. Creates the desired vibe. We had a party of 6 sitting next to us and they shouted for the entire time. It was painful. That's just the way it was. Our luck of the draw. read more

Very nice little place located in the Burbs of Bucerias. Nice wine list and full selection of drinks. Had the Tomahawk pork chop, it was cooked perfectly and came with a nice veggie bed. Salad was very nice. A little small, but tasty. They have a good set of staff that are friendly and quick. All in all we will return next time in town. read more

Sandwiched between rows of residential buildings is a gem of a restaurant. The fresh seared tuna with wilted spinach and wasabi ginger sauce exploded with flavors and just melts in your mouth. I would've given 5 stars except my wife was bothered by the shirtless guy who lived on the 2nd story bedroom across the street. Maybe some nice hanging flowers or decorative canopy to filter the unappetizing view would earn them the 5th star. read more

What a wonderful place! Exquisite food, beautifully presented with "Sunday hats" of flowers or vegetables or spun sugar, and attentive service. The flavors ere great across the board, from the beet salad to the aljillo mussels, from the bread to the catch of the day, from the pasta to the pork -- the cooks do it all very well. We had two desserts, both nicely made and with that restrained sweetness characteristic of Mexican baking, so you can really experience the core flavors. Interesting house cocktails, on the light and fruity side for a summer evening. The ambiance is comfortable and open, the location away from the tourist zone, and the staff is friendly, personable, and precise yet not at all stuffy or stiff. Wow was this a treat for our vacation. Starting with an impeccable wait staff and a very clean restaurant. They were very welcoming and the menu was very inviting with a lot of meat and seafood. We were not expecting the beautiful presentation of our food to taste so good and have good portions. All the staff was very careful to explain the menu their specials and all of the great features of this fantastic find. For the special of a meal the prices were great and all of our six were very happy. I will have to say the highlight was the bacon wrapped shrimp and the mahi-mahi. A little out of the way but totally worth it. Incredibly creative and fresh seafood dishes at surprisingly affordable prices for such high quality. The Rollo Del Mar is so rich with so many layers of seafood constructed beautifully. Service is excellent and the dining room is lovely (although it lacks air conditioning). They also serve steak dishes, but if you love creatively prepared seafood, this is the place. read more

We went to Culi's for the first time with some friends yesterday, and were amazed by the delicious food and incredible service. The restaurant itself is a bit off the beaten path on the other side of the highway, but it's a short walk over the pedestrian walkway if you are staying near the beach. Our server was super helpful and recommended an excellent wine to go with our dinner. We had cocktails and appetizers all of which were all excellent, and three of us had the seafood roulade as a main which is wrapped in bacon and SO delicious! One of us had the double cut pork chop which was perfectly cooked and juicy. We were super full but managed to share a slice of key lime pie for dessert. Save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere else. The service was very slow and we found the food to be very average. This was our third and last time going to this restaurant, as we have eaten much better meals in Bucerias. We were six people and asked for 3 checks at the beginning of the meal, which they didn't want to do, so we almost left then, which is what we should have done. We shared a beet salad, which was very small and had a minuscule piece of bleu cheese on it. We had coconut shrimp and the red snapper, and both were ok but not worth they very slow service. The decor is very plain, basically painted cement block and the restaurant was not at all busy. read more

We were so excited to visit this restaurant recommended by friends and concierge. After reading reviews we were excited to haveEzekiel as our server and then: was seated outside bathroom likely worse seat in house, sat down on wet chair which soaked my shorts asked at least 5 times fir napkin and finally they offered dry chair, then there was left over wine on table that stained the bottom of my white blouse. We had to waive over our server to put our drink order in, then the waiter came to our table to take order while one of us was in bathroom. Ezekiel was very distracted all night. Videoing the saxophone player which was great but basically ignored our table. Salads were great. Fish of the day was not cooked well it was supposed to have roasted potatoes that were not included. The pork tenderloin was tough and dry. We had empty dishes and glasses at our table for a long time until we waived them down to ask them to remove. It was crazy to have such terrible service. Been here for 8 weeks been to several restaurants and this was the worst service of all of them. It's so unfortunate we had expectations but really felt as if attending to us was a nuisance. We had more service from the bus boy which was a lot to be desired. We always tip high even with mediocre service. In this case we were so disgusted we tipped below our 20%. Will not return or recommend based on service. read more
