My wife and I stopped here while visiting Puerto Vallarta on a cruise. The service was fantastic! The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the fajitas. In a way I blame myself. When looking over the menu we asked the server about the Panela cheese molcajete appetizer. He recommended it and it was absolutely incredible! I wish that instead of ordering fajitas, we'd asked for a recommendation. The fajitas had corn and zucchini in them. I kind of feel like fajitas are Mexican food for people who don't like Mexican food and we LOVE it. I don't even know why we chose it. Actually I do, it's what my wife said she wanted. If we ever get back, we will have the Panela cheese in a molcajete again, but we'll let them choose our main dish. read more

I was walking the malecón and neighboring area looking for some breakfast. There wasn't anything open nearby before 9am except for a Starbucks. I waited until this restaurant opened. This restaurant is located in downtown in a highly touristic area, so I must admit that my expectations were low. I'm so glad that they exceeded my expectations. My party of four walked in and we were the first ones to dine here. The restaurant is ample in size and it has nice decor. I wanted to order everything on the menu. They have chilaquiles, steak, and so many thing in between. I ordered the desayuno caporal - it had a little bit of everything that I wanted. I had a piece of skirt steak, chilaquiles, refried beans, and an egg cooked to your liking. It also came with homemade tortillas which were fantastic. I love cafe de olla - it's coffee made in a pot with spices, like cinnamon. It was really good and I was happy to know they offered refills. Dining here was a wonderful experience. Stopped in to have a light lunch meal after a "roper" convinced us to go. We ordered guacamole, shrimp tacos and a chile relleno. The guacamole was prepared table side and was simple and delicious! Really done right without the ridiculous tomatoes added in the states. A must have. The shrimp tacos we expected to be tiny street taco style since this was an appetizer, but they were a substantial set of 4 on blue corn tortillas with a creamy sauce on the side. Simple but delicious. The chile relleno was a different style than I have seen in the states. I liked it. A lighter salsa and not enchilada type sauce covering it. Generally I am suspicious of restaurants in a tourist area on a main street but I can say that this one is an exception. read more

My husband and I were sat at a window seat, so we had a nice view of all the activity outside. We were served fairly quickly with drinks not far behind. Everyone was very friendly. There was music playing top hits kind of loud but you could still carry on a conversation. They had a menu in English which made ordering easier. The location is very convenient as it is right in front of the PUERTO VALLARTA sign/letters on the malecón (boardwalk). It was a super hot and humid day so we wanted a place with Air Conditioning. They have signs on the exterior indicating AC and their reviews were great so it was a easy choice. Upon entering and sitting down, they brought over a fan and set it up next to the table. I then realized that the AC was either not working or not being used. A real bummer when we expected some cold air. The food was not bad, but it was not at the level that is expected for the prices charged. Same with the drinks and service. Nothing horrible, but nothing special. Music was a little too loud which made having a conversation difficult. We also had flies bugging us throughout dinner. Too many little things that prevented this restaurant from being rated any higher. read more
