Hello, Just got back from San Pancho. One of the restaurants that stood out the most was San Pancho Marino. My husband and I ordered a whole snapper. The owner filet it for us. It was the most moist snapper I had ever eaten. The service very attentive. We ordered a Greek salad which was very refreshing. To top of the meal, I had a coconut gelato. We spent 10 days in beautiful Playa San Pancho and this was our only disappointing meal. The servers did a fine job. There was music provided that wasn't great but A for effort. We started with fish ceviche and enjoyed it but it was downhill after that. The bouillabaisse was meh and the lobster/crayfish was disgusting. It wasn't prepared properly or/and had gone bad. In hindsight we should have sent it back but we were trying to roll with the relaxed vibe. The owner will chat you up and tell you how great the food is but he would do better keeping an eye on what comes out of the kitchen. read more

We had some friends here last March and recommended this restaurant. We were told the food was great and owner welcoming and friendly. They didn't lie. We have been here a couple times now. I had fish tacos which I think are the best in all San Pancho. I'm also on a mission to find the best guacamole and ceviche, both awesome! I'm sure we will be back again as we have yet to try the infamous crème brûlée. One of our group had the burger and said it was the best he's ever had. Big too! We will be going back before we go. The owner Roland is super nice and gave us many good tips on the town and sites. They have music several nights a week and Franz was very good, even taking requests of a song he'd never played before and once Roland joining in to entertain. Very talented! All in all we had Great food, fun and feel like we made a couple friends. Highly recommend! read more

This place is 10/10 and not to be missed. I got the Cameron wok last night. The shrimp were high quality: fresh, large, perfectly cooked, and generously portioned. The dish was deeply tasting (think umami) yet healthy, well balanced, colorful, fresh, hearty and filling, a true delight. Everything was well seasoned, well proportioned, skillfully executed, healthy, and aesthetically tasteful. This place is truly amazing, owner/chef is present and the greatest guy to meet. 10/10 is such an understatement here. It's just a lovely place with a lovely vibe with great ambiance, great staff, one of the coolest/most present [and deeply invested in his food] chefs/owners I've come across. This place was the highlight of our trip! The food is excellent... so we ended up eating there three times during the week we spent here. To start, the sea bass and the coconut shrimp were both amazing! The ceviche was incredibly fresh and probably the best we have ever eaten. The hamburger is huge and wonderful. We also had the chocolate strawberry crepe - and the little ice cream bar features home made ice cream. We loved the Nutella! The owner Rolando makes your visit so personal and fun! Had a great meal for my pre-birthday weekend last night at San Pancho Marino. We were walking the main road - considering our options - when we were approached by a man in a striped shirt and the San Pancho Marino logo. At first we figured he was just the host - attempting to lure us in. Turns out he's the owner and chef. Originally from France, I'd guess Roland's true passions are the fabulous Mexican weather and the outstanding fishing the waters in the area provide. He fishes in the morning and then runs the restaurant at night - serving up whatever delicious fare he caught that day. Given a choice of fresh red snapper, tuna, or mahi mahi - I'm going to pick the snapper - hands down - every time. My husband had the mahi mahi. Borge we delicious and expertly prepared and served. The steamed veggies and rice were less inspired, but still tasty, especially after pouring the bowl of cilantro cream sauce over them. Roland checked on us several times to ensure we were enjoying our food. When Daniel was finished and his plate returned to the kitchen with the boring veggies still in place, Roland came to ask what was wrong with his veggies. As it turns out, he is not a fan of veggies either, and sent out a bowl of the most amazing ing mashed potatoes for my husband to try instead. SO good!! They had the perfect consistency - still a few rustic lumps - and were still light and fluffy. That's hard to achieve with the typical Mexican yellow potatoes that are prevalent in the area. I have no idea why his restaurant didn't rank higher on Yelp - but it certainly should. Best fresh snapper I've had in a while, and chatting with Roland was great fun. He even offered me a job - seems he's looking for experienced help in the kitchen. And since I mentioned wanting a tattoo that says "Mise en place" - that sealed the deal. Too bad I'm enjoying retirement way too much to work that hard! It would be fun though - for a couple of days! If you're walking down Main Street and can't decide on where to eat - I highly recommend San Pancho Marino. As a large-bottomed woman - the tall bar chairs were tricky to get in and out of - and not do comfortable that I wanted to extend my meal any longer than absolute necessary. If I stop again, I'll choose to sit further inside. Jess people watching, for sure, but my butt will thank me later. But talking with Roland again would be worth it! Restaurants/Bar people rake note - your seating options definitely weigh in on my making a choice to stop. If your seating looks uncomfortable or precarious - it may look cool, but I'm going to walk on by until I find a place with more comfortable seats. read more

The fajitas were well prepared, tasty with guacamole, beans, peppers, shrimp. Portions are good but not quite approaching generous. Drinks are cold. Seating is varied with slightly elevated front row street views (great people watching, actual seat comfort was average) and couch style seating for serious lounging and hanging out just off the sidewalk. Service was prompt, accurate and more business like than friendly, somewhat lacked attentiveness. They do have a projector beaming sports programming on large wall for football fans. Pricing is what you would expect on the strip and on the way to the beach. There were no issues with the bill and they do take CREDIT CARDS. As always, for real. You be the judge. read more

It is a real scene and the owner, Roland, is very welcoming and helpful in discussing the menu and recommending various dishes. Came by to look at the menu and the owner shot out of the dark like a bat and was insistent that he could make anything I wanted and it would taste better than I had ever had. Even thou I have common sense and knew better I decided to have a burger. It was the GREASIEST burger I have ever had. Any restaurant that offers more than 2 specialities of food should be avoided. Outstanding fresh fish, great restaurant. Owner, Roland, came out and greeted us. He is a French chef who moved to San Pancho a year ago. Fish is so fresh that the owner caught the fish this morning (saw him coming back from the marina with the fish). We will be back on our next trip. read more

Surf videos on loop are initially nice but get stale after awile. A good spot for a break from traditional Mexican fare, fresh seafood, and solid music choices from the Frenchman.
