First appointment was great. Made a fallow up appointment which I had to cancel the day before because of a medical procedure but was still charged. Not very happy about that so spoke with owner Gabriella and was willing to reschedule which was fine. So that appointment again things happen ended up having to take my daughter to urgent care on my appointment day. Txt Amanda and was told she was booked for the rest of the day and could not accommodate me. Sent both owner and her a picture of where I was and that this was not what I had expected and I would be happy to make another appointment. Never herd back from either of them so they totally ignored me. I work in healthcare and things come up unexpectedly. Oh dear...how does one write a review that basically airs out your sh**. Yes, pun intended! I've been seeing Cindy on-and-off for about 8 yrs now and she knows her sh**z (ok ok, I'll stop already!), hence i followed her from Castro Valley to San Leandro, and now, Oakland. Cindy is very patient, non judgemental, complete professional and taught me a lots about what you eat can effect your moods, digestion, etc..etc. I basically started this form of treatment since i was having major digestion problems...was tested for IBS, Crohn's, diverticulitis, celiac and tests were always inconclusive or told i didn't have....later realizing i have a mild gluten allergy...darn, but i love pasta, bread, soy sauce, etc...so instead of taking medication i decided to look into more holistic approach and that's how i started Cultivate Detox... I know after treatment i feel hydrated and euphoric and less 'toxic'....sadly, i'm still a victim of my own doing as i can't seem to wean off gluten-items but am more aware of portions and the triggers...but this is a great jump start to eliminate those bad, bad food as i realize your body craves it because its withdrawing....anyways, definitely worth a try to 'kick (start) in the derriere' to that diet, better eating, or feeling energized. Just had my first session with Gabriela. She was honestly amazing. I didn't really know what to expect but she made the whole experience so comfortable and relaxing. She spent the first few mins asking about why I decided to come in, my diet and any issues I wanted to address (mind and body). This update has been long over due! I have been coming here for about 2 years now, and still learn something new about myself after each session. It has been a pleasure being under Gabriela's care during the treatments. She has a nurturing and intuitive quality that is very pleasant. Every time I come in, she takes into account what's going on in my life, and offers her insights which are always appreciated. I just had the most cleansing and renewing experience with this earth angel, Gabriella. As I first walked in I was taken aback by her luminous beauty. She G L O W S. I had stopped for a while, as another doctor I was consulting had me on a protocol that she did not recommend doing while also having colonics. I went back this week. The results were amazing. I was recommended to Cindy by my former housemate who is also a detox specialist. Cindy has great "bedside" manners--is very kind, compassionate, and funny. I love learning more about my body and how it works so it was fun to get to chat with Cindy about my sh**, literally and figuratively. Cindy makes you feel comfortable and is very knowledgeable and experienced. I did a 6 month subscription with her to go deeper in detoxing my body and getting healthier. I also ended up doing a liver cleanse with a pre- and post- liver flush colonic. If you don't think that what you put in your body or what you put your body through doesn't show up in your sh**, think again. As a result of Cindy's care, I try to eat slower--very hard for me, and I try to "listen" to my stomach (generally, my entire tummy, not just the organ) more now--if it feels weird after eating something, or where I'm feeling it when I'm angry, happy, sad, stressed, etc. I've come to respect my digestive system more as a highly intelligent and sensitive second brain in my body. I also love the fresh green drink she has for me after each session. They're tasty and healthy. Tips: 1) Sign up for Cindy's e-newsletter. She has 6 month subscriptions that are a great deal if you're serious about doing a deeper cleanse or regular "maintenance." She only offers this twice a year--in the spring and fall. 2) Before an appointment eat lightly--fruits or juices. Same for afterwards. Cindy gives these instructions with your appointment confirmation but I'll reiterate it. Your digestive system is sensitive--treat it respectfully! 3) Hydration is important. I always try to drink more fluids a week before my appointments. 4) I don't recommend doing anything physically strenuous after a session. This was a really great experience. My husband and I went because we saw a Living Social deal available, and he had be saying for a while that he would like to try colon therapy. I won't lie, I was very nervous, but thought I would give it a shot. I can't tell you how happy I am about this experience. We arrived very early and just expected to wait in their waiting room till it was out turn. Instead of having to wait Cindy brought us back early and we got to have a long chat with her about the process and why the process is important. She is very knowledgeable and makes you feel very comfortable. I really appreciate the time she spent with us, you can tell she really cares about people and wants to help people. The entire experience was calming and relaxing, much the opposite of what I expected. Cindy also spent time with us afterward, recommended books and supplements that might help with some issues we are having (to buy on Amazon). She didn't hard sell for another session or force us to buy any of the products she has available for purchase, like some other places might. Felt good after first, better after 2nd and wonderful after third session. Jill was very patient with me in all my sessions since this is my first try at colonic hydrotherapy. This review is solely based on their customer service. I had purchased a living social deal and had an appt for Tuesday. Unexpectedly, my dad was rushed to the emergency room a few hours before my appt. I called multiple times to try to reschedule but a message came up stating the office did not have a receptionist and to leave messages. Later that evening, I receive an email from Cindy saying that they have a very strict cancellation policy and we are to inform them of our cancellation within 24 hours. She also mentioned that she did not have a choice but to redeem my coupon as it is not fair for people who were on the waiting list. I emailed her back with what happened and did not hear back. What could I have done to avoid this? I tried calling multiples times to no avail. Your message says " we do not have a receptionist, pls leave your message we will return your call within 36-48 hours. I did mention in my voicemail that I would love to reschedule but that wasn't even an option. Emergencies DO happen and as healthcare professionals, you should be very well aware of that. But no, you chose to redeem a few bucks to make this worth your time. Maybe you should hire a receptionist to avoid situations like this from occurring and losing more customers. For this reason, I am returning other living social "deals" for this place that I had purchased for other people and I refuse to be serviced by "professionals" who are more worried about making a few dollars than someone else's well being. Where should I begin...let's start with...if I could give Cultivate Detox 10 stars I would. My healing journey with Cindy started nearly 10 years ago when I was experiencing a health crisis. My body was overladen with the Standard American Diet and I was in great "dis-ease". Doctors had no idea what was wrong with me and just wanted to throw prescriptions at me. A few closing words about negative reviews: Over the years, I have known a few folks to have a negative reaction to Cindy. However, it is quite evident that they were merely playing out their own "story", true to form. Cindy is a very savvy business woman and understands that, as a healer, boundaries are vitally important. This is one of my favorite things about her...with Cindy, what you see is what you get. She is very upfront about what the clinic is, and what it isn't. This is not her first rodeo; she's been there, done that. My experience has been, that folks who struggle with this, are struggling with something much deeper within themselves...and to them I say...Namaste, may you find your peace. Cindy holds no resentments. She sees these moments as an opportunity for growth and moves on. There are far too many folks out there who are in need of her healing energy and if you're not there...she's cool with that too.
