I started seeing Jen weekly for acupuncture and cupping 6 months ago with just a lot going on physically and mentally. A year before I started seeing Jen, at 32 years old, I'd been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune syndrome that caused kidney disease and uveitis out of the blue (kidneys functioning at 32%) and was put on high-dose steroids for 9 months. By the end of my prednisone journey, my kidneys were functioning at 82%, but I'd really succumbed to the side effects of the drug - I'd gained 30 lbs from the steroids, couldn't sleep, had irregular monthly cycles, experienced hair loss and acne, was depressed, anxious, emotional, etc. With Jen's treatments and following her simple lifestyle and diet recommendations, I started to feel better emotionally and in my body, my hair started to grow back, my skin cleared up, and the weight fell off. I reached out to Jenny at five months pregnant while experiencing severe sciatica. I felt I had tried everything at that point - massage, chiropractic and physical therapy and there was no alleviation to my pain. I came to Jenny very distressed, I was six weeks pregnant and anxious since I had lost my prior pregnancies and fertility specialist had told us not to try again til they could do some testing. I, like most women these days, had been on one form of birth control or another for half my life before deciding to try and get pregnant. I had my IUD removed in April and about a month later was hit hard with horrible PMS symptoms. Jenny is an incredibly talented practitioner (and a mom too!) that understands how to connect with children and most importantly helps them with chronic and acute issues. My 12-year-old son, who was a major skeptic suffers from a chronic lung disease that causes mucus to build up daily which has to be treated. We use an inhaled hypertonic saline but adding the acupuncture has really helped his clearing of the mucous and given him enough relief that he has cut back dramatically on his daily treatments, it's really amazing. We haven't seen results like this from anything we've tried. In addition to the lung issues, he's suffered sever's disease on his heels from playing so many sports and growing so quickly. We've done everything to try and combat the pain; anti-inflammatories, complete rest on the feet, ice, physical therapy but it all comes back the minute he goes back to sports. Jenny has been working on him for the last month and he's showing major improvement to the point that I don't even hear a complaint, which is a rarity around here. He's back to baseball, football, running and causing a ruckus and says he's finally feeling better. As reticent as he was to try acupuncture because of the needles, it took Jenny about 10 minutes to break through his barrier and make him a huge fan. Jenny is absolutely amazing and has helped me with several issues. I originally started seeing her for a very painful shoulder/neck pain I had been experiencing for a few months. After the first session I felt much better; by the third session I was nearly pain free! She has also has helped when my lower back went out.
