Great sea bass and black pig. Yum! Very nice server. Made us feel like a friend. A lot of tasty food for a great price!

One of the best - if not the best meal I had during my trip to Portugal. After a visit to nearby…read moreSintra our tour guide recommended a romantic seaside lunch to us, and this place did not disappoint. It's a very high end restaurant with incredible views of the water, serving fresh seafood dishes. Service was impeccable, our waiter was happy to answer questions we had about wine and the menu (and also took an entire photo shoot of us at the end to ensure we'd have it for the memories). I started off with the octopus salad which was light and refreshing, featuring crunchy bell peppers and a light dressing. For the main course I went with the baked fish which was melt in your mouth good, swimming in butter. Paired with green wine from Portugal, it reminded me of that quote about fish - "Fish, to taste right, must swim three times - in water, in butter, and in wine." Absolute perfection. A must visit if you're in the area.

We were seated, and it took forever for our serve to come back to get our drinks and appetizers order. After that 30 minutes for my husband's drink to arrive, mine came about 15 minutes after ordering, not together. Appetizers - tuna tartare and pimentos Padron. Tuna Tartare - chunky pieces of tuna with sweet mangoes and tiny pieces of celery and red onions that compliment it well. Pimentos Padron- a typical Iberian sauté peppers appetizer - could have used a little more flaky salt. For mains, we ordered the lobster risotto and seabass "a la nordata," which was a grilled seabass accompanied with Cilantro rice, sautéed veggies, and a citrusy sauce. Lobster risotto - a bit dry, not creamy as a risotto should be. Seabass "a la nordata" - seabass was flaky and well seasoned, and the veggies buttery with a nice bite still. For dessert, we ordered a flan to share, and I had a port. The flan had a nice consistency to it but a bit bland. The lemon sorbet that accompanied it was delicious! For the Port, I ordered a 2011 Vintage and was served a 2013. How do I know? The server brought it to the table! When I questioned it, she said that they ran out of 2011, but the 2013 is the same thing.... hmmm.... nope, it's not the same thing. I still agreed to it, but I would have liked to have been warned before the pour. Overall, I feel like Michelin steered me wrong this time. It wasn't a bad meal. I just had higher expectations for it. After over a week of delicious food at cheaper restaurants, I expected better service and better food here.

The sangria (by the glass or in a clay jug) is a must.  We went all in as a group of four diners, ordering the sardine sandwich (incredibly fresh and layered with flavor), fried fish, octopus, scrumptious pig cheeks, and the most delicious chicken wings. Honestly, I could've skipped the steak sandwich, but everything else was outstanding. Didn't make it to dessert, but the plates we saw heading to other tables looked good. Even the bathroom adds to the experience, decorated like a home, complete with fake hanging "laundry". We walked in during a busy lunch time on a weekend day. Indoor and outdoor seating is available depending on the weather.

The tapas sized food was perfect for what we needed as a simple appetizer as we ate through Sintra. We coupled it with wine and beer. Service was fast and friendly. It was the only spot that had a lot of people - speaks to its superiority in the area perhaps. I'd definitely recommend - get the seafood salad!
