Our son was enrolled in the after school Spanish program. This program went above and beyond in what it was able to do for him. We were surprised to find our 1st grade son writing his own unique sentences in spanish! The program's expectations were that students would become fluent. And though fluency is expected of every language program, it's unusual to find a program that encourages literacy at this level as well! To provide context, our kid showed no interest in learning the language, despite it being around him, and he even met the program with some resistance. But the folks that run the program are PHENOMENAL. They managed to get him to participate with fun activities and crafts that encourage the language without any force. They even got him excited in learning the language itself! The people running it seem genuinely happy working with the kids and when I pick up my son, you can see that that sentiment is DEFINITELY reciprocated in the kids! A little extra that I thought was nice is that they tend to get out a tad later than the advertised time. I understand that it does take time to get young kids from the classroom to the front of the school. I only mention this because there was frustration from a parent who was waiting on a couple occasions. Personally, I see this as a huge sign that these folks are using every minute! And the evidence of their work speaks (and writes!) for itself! We will, without a doubt, be reregistering our son in the future! It is worth every penny and more! read more

This is my son's second time at Cultural Bytes. He loves it! When I pick him up at the end of the day, he doesn't want to go home! The staff is great and Sra. Jackie is impressive! They individualize needs and take the time to know the children. The continuous communication with the staff and children in Spanish is outstanding! We are so lucky to have found Cultural Bytes! Thank you Sra. Jackie, Yvette, and Maria for such a great experience! We will definitely be coming back in the summer! Oh, and before I sign off, this morning my son asked me when will he be returning to Cultural Bytes camp, as tomorrow is his last day. He said he is going to miss the teachers!!! He just started 3 days ago and I was a little worried about his adjustment, as he just finished a 2 week swim camp. He is having a blast at Cultural Bytes! Every day he tells me how much fun he is having! When I picked him up yesterday, he started singing songs in Spanish on the way home! This is not his norm. I have experience both working in and simply witnessing various business models within private sector education, and none bring quite the same level of passion and commitment to the goals of the learning. Cultural Bytes has a well defined immersive methodology that engages anyone at any age to learn that language is more than the dedication to text books and study -- it requires practice. By fostering a Spanish speaking environment, it seems the fear of failure dissipates and mistakes becoome learning moments to improve. In this country, where more and more educational burden is placed on the private sector to reduce the gap with our publIc system, it is refreshing to see a program that far advances any other curriculum/environment otherwise available. My Daughter has been taking online private Spanish classes over the summer with Cultural Bytes and has been loving it! She was very shy and reluctant to start online classes, but less that 1 minute into her first session, Sra. Jackie and Srta. Carolina brought her out of her shell and made her smile. Her weekly teacher, Srta. Carolina, is extremely patient and warm. She greets my daughter with excitement at the beginning of each class and she maintains this positive energy throughout the entire session. What I love about the classes is that each lesson is tailored to the student's interests and language level, which keeps it engaging and exciting. As any parent, we look for the right programs and care while we are working throughout the week. My daughter is going into first grade after this summer in a Spanish immersion school. I didn't want her to lose all she had learned in kinder, since we are not native speakers at home, so we looked for Spanish programs in the area that lasted the entire workday. I am so pleased with Cultural Bytes camp. I first spoke with Jackie, the director, via text and her energy and excitement won us over. My daughter did a week of the in-person camp in the beginning of July. She is currently in a dual immersion program at school and I thought going to the camp would help keep her language skills sharp during the summer. She really loved the camp and the instructors! My son was enrolled in the summer camp two years ago and just finished the fall session couple of weeks ago. He really enjoys it, he is always asking when is Saturday therefore he can go to his "Spanish" class. We see the progress and the fact that he uses spanish more and more at home- I am from Latin America but my husband doesnt speak spanish and that makes it a little bit hard for him -we are very happy with the program and will re enroll our kid in the next session starting in January. read more

Today was ours kids first day of winter camp. Neither of our children, age 4 and 6, know or speak Spanish. My son had a hard time in the morning due to his new environment, but all the staff were very patient with him to where eventually he participated. When I picked them up, both he and my daughter said they enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to their next day. I know it is just the first day, but it is a good sign of what is to come. We are so happy with the Hola Spanish Summer Camp in Burbank! This is my 5yo son second week and he's super excited and happy. We thought he would have a difficult time because everything is in Spanish but the teachers are super sweet and with the different fun activities he has been busy and having so much fun that he always asks to come back the next day. We have really enjoyed online tutoring with Sandrine over the summer and are currently doing the French immersion camp in person. It's been wonderful. What a gem of a program! I wish I knew about it earlier. My son has been taking Spanish lessons for sometime without interest. This summer he attended CB program for two weeks.
