AND I didn't realize they are MOBILE, so everything was done right in my garage! I didn't have to drive anywhere! The long: Friday night I walked out to my car (BMW 330i) in a public parking lot to find the entire sunroof was shattered. Luckily the screen was half closed so there wasn't too much glass inside. I found Cultus Auto Glass through Yelp Project recommendations after sending out a request for a quote to replace the windshield on my car. Cultus Auto Glass quickly provided a reply to my quote and had very competitive pricing. I ended up moving forward with them and requested an appointment for the following Saturday at 11 AM. On Saturday, the windshield technician did arrive late and communication could have been better. However once he arrived, replacement of the actual windshield was very quick and done in less than two hours. They also disposed of my old windshield as a part of the service. I paid the price that I was quoted, which is nice that there were no hidden fees that popped up after the fact. Just a heads up that if you are unable to pay the balance in cash, then you will be charged an additional amount for card processing on top of the service amount. I REALLY wanted to give a good review of my experience. Mahdi is awesome - I have nothing bad to say about him. It's the technician who came out to do the job. Let me start from the beginning. I had my first windshield installed, and it was not seated properly. Wind was coming in from the bottom, and the top was clearly not level. It was raised on the passenger side and noticeable. The day after the first install, I contacted Cultus to report the issue. The next day, they came back out to look at it. The technician who did the work tried to say it was my truck and blamed "rust." I know for a fact there is no rust. I watched the entire first install - including the part where the tech was prying my wiper arms off, even though they have slide tabs designed for removal. Three days later, the same tech came back to reinstall another windshield. He tried to convince me to just seal it with more silicone to stop the wind. I asked him about the top of the windshield still not being level. He insinuated I was seeing things and again blamed the frame - "rust or something." he said... I had him stand in front of the truck and look at both sides. He pretended not to see it, but his reaction made it clear that he did. After that, he said he would replace it, but warned me that if there was still an issue, I wouldn't be getting a third piece of glass. This was after I had already been told by the manager that a different brand of glass would be used. The second windshield was slightly better - no wind this time, and it appeared more level. That was about a month ago. Today, while sitting still at a traffic light, I watched the windshield crack right in front of me - POP, and there it was. Nothing hit it. No chips. The crack formed from under the molding near the passenger-side corner, which tells me the glass was still not installed correctly and developed a stress crack. Since the first windshield took a week to replace, and the second one cracked on its own, I will NOT be going back for a third attempt. I should also mention that the technician left a mess both times. I don't want to deal with that stress again - wondering when or if they'll fix things, and risking more damage. He even pointed out my worn dashboard while poking at it (I keep a dash cover on it for that reason). On top of that, I had to replace my wiper arms because of how he removed them by prying them off...good thing I'm getting a new hood, because he even scraped paint off the metal by the way he was prying them off. I will not recommend this shop. To add insult to injury, I'm on a fixed income due to an autoimmune condition and can't afford another stressful situation like this. Thankfully, my mom is helping me get a new windshield from a different company. I've owned this vehicle since 2002 - I know it inside and out. I also saw the quality of this tech's work: messy. He likely didn't properly clean off the old silicone, because while he was prepping the second windshield, I was still removing leftover material he missed. The glass NEEDS to lay flat. If there's debris left on the frame, it will not seat properly. Instead of correcting his work, he chose to blame my vehicle. I've cooled off a bit since watching the windshield crack today, but this situation is unacceptable. Mahdi, you need technicians who know what they're doing, because this one is going to cost you business. I've seen businesses fail because of one bad employee. Poor workmanship - especially involving something as critical as a windshield - can be dangerous. What if I chose to use the messed up wiper arms? ...and they flew off while going 60mph on the freeway, then caused a catastrophic accident...I would have been at fault, NOT the guy who messed them up... Because of this experience, I'm out $300 and now have to pay for yet another windshield just 1 month later. read more
