It feels really safe. There is a designated locker for each person in the room. I always choose the women 'en suite' room because it has an adjoining bathroom just for the women in the room. I don't like the idea of sharing a hall bathroom with men. Staff has been helpful every time I stay there. I like the communal feeling and the friendly atmosphere.

Traveling from East to West, I assumed it would always be warm on the California coast, but unfortunately, I was wrong--I blame TV for that! However, staying at the Mayumi hotel made up for it. It was comfortable, relaxing, and secure, which is exactly why I chose it. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by an atrium filled with burning fire pits, mellow music, and swinging chairs. They even have a kitchen where you can cook your own food, not to mention a happy hour on-site with a free drink every evening. This spot made me feel incredibly relaxed, which was just what I needed to write music and finish an amazing book. The staff is inviting and caters to every need. They also offer bicycles that you can rent for free to enjoy the California scenery. I've stayed here numerous times because of the location, the amazing staff, and the overall vibe. Let me write the most scathing review I have ever written…read more Lets just start by saying Allan, the Manager and his staff are the most incompetent people I have ever encountered in my life. This whole experience let me to file a complaint with the ADA for their treatment of my disabled cousin for brazen discrimination while staying there, while we remodeled our kitchen. huge mistake. My cousin is an individual with mental and physical disabilities, including COPD. Reservations were made through a third party online discount platform. Since we live in the Marina we thought this motel would be best suited for her and her support dog and was close enough for us to come to the motel in case of an emergency. The whole incident involved my cousin's attempt to make a fourth reservation (she had already had 3 prior in the time we have been remodeling our kitchen). On May 21, 2026 @ 10:45 AM, while she was attempting to book a fourth stay, the Manager on Duty, Herman, refused her further lodging. He cited her service animal as the reason, claiming it barked at another guest and had other complaints, but he would not elaborate, which led her to believe he was making this up. She explained that the dog only reacted after a stranger approached her abruptly. Her service animal is trained to ensure hersafety and to help her manage her medical and mental conditions. Since he decided he didn't want her there anymore, Herman ordered her to vacate the premises within 30 minutes. Given her physical disabilities, she could not move quickly, which appeared to irritate him. He threatened additional charges if she did not move faster, causing her to suffer a panic attack and begin crying in front of other guests. Lost her phone while urgently moving out. The stress of this humiliation triggered a COPD flare-up that required a clinic visit. She eventually had to pay a security guard $20 to assist with her belongings. I have attempted to resolve this by calling the front desk and speaking with Panisha and Heara to request a call from the manager, Allan. He never called me. I wrote a long email to their company guest relations email due to the treatment of a guest with disabilities and they replied and literally said we cannot do anything call the hotel and speak to the manager, Allan. I said I have he is not returning my calls, We couldn't find another local hotel that would accommodate her service animal on short notice, which caused significant inconvenience to our entire family. Their manager, Allan, also owes her an apology. The public should know that this is how Motel 6 treats their guests, with no respect and zero consideration for those that are disabled. Shame on them.
