    Curd burger.
    Brian J.

The curd burger is back! I think Culver's is on top of the burger chains but there curds are not. So many great places to get cheese curds in the Madison area but Culver's is not one of them. Somehow its different when you have a curd patty on a burger it's like a cheese burger with extra cheese. Make sure you eat it right melty away.

COMPLETELY PAINFUL I'm a huge fun of Culver's! In fact, it's the only fast food burger restaurant that I'll eat at during a road-trip. When I'm hungry and I see their logo on the highway info board I'm getting off at that exit immediately. The experience here was horrible. The 16 year old kid working the register was unprofessional. I just wanted to order my burger. He refused to listen to me. In fact, we had to clear out my order three times because he refused to listen to me. He kept trying to order for me. It was really weird. At one point he made my burger a basket. I didn't want that but he insisted it was the best deal. I then told him I haven't had soda in 10 years, he then told me he would still give me soda cup for water. What? So I'm going to pay for a soda cup and not get soda. The logic here was illogical. I simply tried to order by building my own burger. The Culver's here has a giant menu board encouraging me to build my own burger. I've noticed that all Culver's prices don't add up the right way on the menu, so I'm always keeping an eye on my ordering to save money. Hey if I can save money, then I'm going to do it. I just wanted to Build my Own Burger. I noticed that based off of the prices printed on the menu board I was going to save some money but I needed to order a certain way. The kid kept telling me I needed the meal basket. I told him I didn't want that. I just wanted to build my own burger. I can't understand why this was so difficult. He kept telling me he was saving me money. He was wrong! In fact, the total was over $20 for our order. When I looked at the screen he had still refused to put my order in the way I wanted. I made him clear out my order for the second time. I made him enter what I wanted and guess what? We had saved over two dollars. I looked at him and said, "You do know you kept telling me you were saving me money? How come my way was still cheaper?" He just looked st me and had no comment. He honestly shouldn't be working a counter and talking to humans. The saddest part was that my burger was wrong. I've never received my burger wrong at Culver's. I couldn't even go back to the front counter because of the lack of customer service plus I'm sure they would have added some special sauce to my burger, if they had to remake it. I didn't want the special secret sauce that the chef might add in as a bonus. I filled out my customer service survey and one of the questions was would you like someone to contact you about this incident. I said yes and guess what? No one has contacted me. This location is truly unprofessional. It's lack of customer service is a disgrace to such a fantastic brand. If you're driving up the highway please skip this location. I want to save you from a disaster. The best part is that there's a Culver in either direction on the highway. Stop at another location that cares about making the customer happy and skip this one. I wish I would have eaten somewhere else.

We all got grilled cheese variations with apples, salad and soup as sides. The chicken bacon ranch grilled cheese was overall the best. Both of the salads had rotten leaves, so best to avoid that unless you're ok picking through for good leaves. Service 5/5: the food came quickly and the staff was very friendly. Ambiance 1/5: we were very disappointed overall since they hype themselves up as an experience that includes cows. There were no cows in sight. I know during the summertime they will have baby cows, but overall to me there should be more transparency around not actually seeing cows when you visit the creamery. Other than that there is a small parking lot that can get very busy at times, but plenty of places to sit. We did love the kids playground outside but all of the bikes were broken/didn't work and the bags put away for corn hole. Overall we were really disappointed at this trip. No cows and lunch was just ok. If you are looking for a spot just for ice cream, they have amazing options and plenty of room for the kids to play, just don't tell your kids there are cows because you likely won't see any.

They have a wide variety of Babcock ice creams to choose from for cones and dishes and there are unique flavors of shakes, floats, and sundaes. We ended up ordering the cold brew coffee float which features Let It Ride cold brew coffee and the hot honey mango shake. Both were quite tasty, but the shake was a standout. It's a flavor we haven't seen around Madison before and it's wonderfully balanced between the sweetness of the mango and the slight spicing of the hot honey to make a delightful shake. Staff was very friendly and we were able to try some samples of the ice creams to decide what we wanted. There is also a nice patio setup off of the bike path in the back. As it was opening day, they are still working out some kinks and working on some fun other options for the menu. We spoke to the owner and it sounds like there will be some vegan options coming in the very near future in some sorbets.

The store itself is SO cute and instagramable. They have a gorgeous selfie wall that basically looks like a mural of Candy land. There are cute rainbows and decor everywhere that really adds to the vibe. They also go all out when decorating for private parties, go check out their Instagram, it's insane! The service is great and the staff is super friendly. They're really quick at making these complex desserts as well. They do a lot of cool things like handing out ''kindness tokens'' when employees see people in the community doing any acts of kindness. We also got the fried okra & the banana pudding for dessert. My chicken wings were top tier, & I have high standards when it comes to my wings, haha. When looking for good wings I love a dry rub & these had that w a unique flavor & were seasoned really well. At times I'd get a little hit of spice but overall savory & not spicy. It'd be awesome if it was an option to make them hotter for those of us that like that but again, they're delicious as is. They have a perfect crisp, the meat was cooked perfectly & they're good size wings & meaty, not full of cartilage or fat which I hate. The meat came easily off the bone too. My husband begged for some & we both will be going back for wings for sure. The fries it came with were great too. Nice & crisp on the outside, soft on the inside & seasoned well. The fried okra was good & I liked that they weren't too heavily breaded so u could taste the okra. My husband loved the gyro burger & he normally can finish his meal but it was so big he got two meals out of it. It's impossible to bite so eating some meat first is key. Lastly, the banana pudding was great & a large portion so again, we had leftovers of that too. I do recommend ordering pickup as it's a smaller place with a few tables & takes a while to cook certain menu items but again, was cooked perfectly & was hot & fresh. Also, the owner & her staff were super friendly & it gave a home cooked meal vibe. Our wait went by quickly with all the laughs & conversation. Looking forward to returning!
