The second time I was told basically "we have the request but you'd have to wait here an hour because we have many vaccinations to give" so I left as I had groceries in the car. Much later when another family member tried to pick it up, it turned out, they didn't HAVE the med in stock and never notified anyone. At that point other nearby Walgreens were closed or closing so it couldn't be had the same evening. I asked why they didn't notify. "I didn't have the staff to call," was the answer. Disappointing and dangerous way to run a pharmacy. If in medical danger, this could mean the difference between treatment and having to go to the Emergency Room at the hospital. Disappoined. More of this kind of failure and they could be sued.

It is gratifying to be cared about in finding things at a store when one has little time to read all the signs, or, When a person is unable or uncertain how to locate an item! The store is packed with such a variety of cards, seasonal items, pharmaceutical access and all the usual products that modern day pharmacies offer. An Erica, that works at the pharmacy, was an outstanding help to me the other day. She took the time to research my insurance through the computer and "re-bill" me . This took time but l so appreciated her professionalism and personal concern that l be accurately labeled and billed correctly. I am a frequent shopper at Walgreens, and the staff consistently is kind and helpful ; but l would be remiss if l did not acknowledge Charie, who has been the most personable and professional throughout the years. This woman deserves an AWARD for epic service to the public on behalf of Walgreens. I highly recommend this South Burlington Walgreens. You can be browsing or in a hurry, and l can guarantee that this Walgreens will deliver every time both professionally and caringly.

Mostly they seem to deal in the low-end beer, lottery tickets, soda, and cigarettes required by Winooski's lower-class and welfare populations. The people behind the counter are often rude and unresponsive and seem to be too busy bickering with each other to actually attend to customers. They run the deli part of the store, where they prepare food, and deal with money and customers at the same time, without washing their hands. It's hard to tell if the manager is stoned or developmentally disabled. The store is absolutely filthy. The floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years and chunks of it literally come off underfoot. Counters are sticky and covered with sugar and spilled coffee that seems only rarely to be wiped up. There is sometimes no coffee available because the employees have forgotten to make it. The store is sometimes closed during business hours with a sign on the door saying the employee will be back soon. You often have to run a gauntlet of sketchy-looking people and assorted smokers to get into the door. There are often sketchy people loitering around inside the store, as well, talking to the employees (probably their friends). There is frequently garbage and trash in the parking lot. There is a sketchy apartment upstairs, also owned by Champlain Farms. I was walking past one evening, and a chair came through a second floor window, showering the parking lot with glass, after one of the tenants got angry. The parking lot is frequently the place of business for local drug dealers, including some of the employees of the store. The manager of the store is unresponsive to complaints. All this is basically in the middle of a residential neighborhood. You couldn't ask for anything worse.
