Past it's sell by date Caesar Salad.

Beware when buying salads. Purchase three Caesar Salads two days before the best buy date. When I got back home and opened them up they were yellow and inedible and had to be thrown away. Complete waste of money.

I love Traders Joes, but last Saturday I purchased Strawberries and by Wednesday they was mold and yuck on them. The prices we pay are so high. I expect quality of my food to last! I had them in the fridge as well. I'm very disappointed.

Trader Joe is amazing! They sell novelty snack items, and pre-marinated meats. Fresh produce and fruits. This location is particularly good thanks to great wine and beer selection INSIDE the store. That's right. Vermont allows retailers to sell both beer and wine in the same vicinity as groceries. Super convenient, right! I was sad that I didn't live in Burlington. I really wanted to try all the different wines and their reserve selection. Looked delicious and so many great deals! I will be back!!

    Yay!

I have never ever been inside a trader joes before. So to say I was excited is mild- I was ecstatic. Upon walking in you find that the there are very few isles and get ready-they're diagonal! It was definitely an interesting set up and I enjoyed it. I walked down each as every isle and looked at everything. There are so many unique and different things-I lived it. It really felt like I was discovering. If you have not been then I strongly and eagerly encourage you to go.

The male attendant for the samples called me fat on 4/25. So rude and insensitive literally made my day 1000x worse will not be coming back.

RE: Hannaford, University Mall, SOBU…read more.. Where do I begin? It starts in the parking lot where there's a license plate reader (that pole with the cameras and blinking lights) which also records your car and it's characteristics (stickers, dents, etc. They then match that data with your payment method in the store after recording your face using the three-point system. Distance between your eyes, and down to your mouth. This is BAD already. They sell this information to God knows who, not to mention, the police. Entering Hannafords lot is where tracking your movements begin. There are video screens showing you moving about the aisles--every aisle. This is used as intimidation. You see your pretty face in HD at the cash registers also. Self checkout? You save Hannaford money by doing their work. The reward? I was stopped at the door today by a girl who says "I need to see your receipt." OK... Everything checked out correctly. The girl says "Oh that happens sometimes." No apology, by the way. They treat customers like they're idiots. I know that I was stopped because one of the lackeys in loss-prevention watching the video console decided I looked like a good candidate to harass. There's no anti-theft devices on their groceries. Where would they put them--inside the overpriced chicken quarters I paid for??? The community at-large accepts this invasion of privacy and is happy to act as a free cashier for the store with self-checkout. So yeah, I can see where they feel that we're suckers. But again, I just loved being stopped at the door after paying for my groceries. Should you ever be wrongfully detained, take out your phone and call the police and have the officer ask for the video showing your "suspicious behavior." Nothing will come of it, but you can disrupt their store operation, making it expensive to have improperly stopped you. Dear Hannaford, please accept my middle finger as a gift to you, and as a sweetener I'm transferring all of my precriptions to Price Chopper/Market32. With the prices you charge, it's you who are the crooks. Stop projecting... Try to be sure before you stop customers at the door, you half-witted morons. Two words for you... Lowes, Walmart, and Home Depot also have these privacy-violating technologies on their properties. Too bad I can't buy all of my groceries reliably online from an online retailer outside of Vermont... I would if I could. One more time: TWO WORDS FOR HANNAFORD!

Thats a whole other story! WOW! Fun fact: over 2 million people flock to Vermont every year to see the magical colors of Autumn. When you see them in person, that number makes sense! However, traffic in a tiny town like Stowe... absolute nightmare lol. That whole area is a treat to the eyes! Absolutely breathtaking! So after our days of venturing around towns, our hikes, drives to see colors...we'd be too tired to cook anything when we got home. Price Chopper was right up the street from our Air BnB in Burlington. Even though they are expensive, I'd still recommend this store to people. It's super clean, employees are sooo nice and so helpful. They were also SOOOO sweet to my little man, Alfred (my little yorkie...yes, I'm one of those people lol) Again, prices are definitely high af, but with not many stores around (that we knew of) and being literal tourists, this place worked out just fine. They have their pre-made Caesar salads and omg they were SO good! Ya know how most things like that bought at....well, any and all grocery stores...turn out to be crap. Like they some times taste like literal a$$? Not these ones. SO good! The chicken was amazing. Perfectly cooked and seasoned AND! AND!! They were like $6! So there was something that was a lot cheaper than either of us ever expected. We bought one almost every night we there haha! Except the days we decided to eat out. Ok, so on some Sundays I like to get me some doughnuts. It's a cheat treat. The doughnuts at this place are NEXT. LEVEL! I bet they make them right there in the store...which most do not do anymore. They are fantastic! They put Dunkin and Tim Hortons and any other place to absolute shame. They're amazing and again, not expensive. So that's 2 things haha. If I remember correctly, I wanna say $1.35 each? We got them a few times and on our way out of town, I got a dozen to take back to my mom in New York. She couldn't get over how amazing they were. Wish there was a Price Chopper in her area...I would have brought them to her regularly during my visit there. Had to settle for...Wegmans. Love that store, their bakery though isn't nearly as good and isn't nearly as great as it once was...like back in the 90s lol. Other items, the milk, butter..stuff like that is where the prices were higher at Price Chopper. Did look like they had decent sales tho. I just loved this store. Definitely more than a pleasant surprise. Glad we decided to go in when we couldn't find a place to eat. If and when I ever go back to Vermont, this place will definitely get my business. Thanks for reading, YelpChoppers!! Cheers!

Once, they were out of fresh basil. OK, I can see that -- it is perishable, it's an herb, you can sub the dried stuff, and they usually only keep a small stock anyway. But on that same day, they were out of strawberries. Well...I mean, it was the end of summer, but you can usually get them even in February in a large supermarket chain, right? Another time, I could not find a single banana that was not as green as the Vermont mountains in June. And the last time I was there, all the flat parsley (what little there was of it) had been freed from their little bindings...and, thus liberated, had been strewn, bruised and battered, all over the other produce. The cilatnro, in particular, were not amused. So *maaaaybe* I can excuse being out of some produce...I mean, it is perishable and all, right? So you don't want to order too much and throw the rest out all the time... But what excuse can they give for being out of dried foods, like Near East Original Rice Pilaf? Jiffy corn bread mix? Press-and-Seal food wrap??!!? The Press-And-Seal, I am betting, does not even have an expiration date!!! Inexcusable. Clearly, they need new management. Particularly in produce, where every time I ask the produce manager to help me find something, she gives me the wrong answer ("no we don't have it" when they do) or I find it before she does. C'mon.
