In fact we were advised to sell for parts! Today the car is fine and we are driving it across the country. About $2000 in repairs for a good solid Toyota. Couldn't buy an equal one for same price. That comment (again not by Clayton) made me feel like some BS was afoot. Clayton the mechanic was honest and helpful.

The rest is empty! Just white bread and a filmy piece of lettuce. It's not the sandwich as much as the dishonesty I'm raising here. If you need to charge more, go ahead, but this fakery only works once and makes me not want to come back. Worse, I think everyone should know so they can make the choice for themselves. They also have a small McDonald's in here, my friend grabbed a coffee and service was a little slow. The McDonald's has a good amount of tables in case you want to eat in. This place also sells Green Mountain coffee and not chocolate. I spotted a few baked goods as well. There was a cooler filled with misc frozen items (pizzas, etc) and ice cream. The convenience store has a lot of snacks and beer. They even had a walk in beverage cooler. Also spotted an ATM and various touristy brochures. Speaking of tourist stuff, they had a display of maple syrup by the front door, that makes a nice VT souvenir. This place surprisingly has wifi, which is super handy since cell reception is spotty.

But this past fall, our visit there took the cake! We arrived at the lodge and discovered that the entire supply of blankets had been sent to the cleaners. This is Vermont, people! Blankets are necessary! There weren't any stores nearby that were open, so we were thinking we'd make due with our jackets and hope for the best. We also thought some beer might help, so we stopped by the Village Grocery for supplies (they have a really good beer and wine selection, btw.) While mentioning our plight to one of the guys who works there, he was kind enough to call the owner. The owner actually went out of his way to drive miles away to his home and come back with blankets for us. I couldn't believe it. His over-the-top hospitality to out-of-towners blew me away. I still so grateful and will always remember this kind gesture. I learned that his father ran the store back in the day, so it is a family legacy, which is so cool in this day of corporate greed . More importantly, I also love this store!!! They have a great selection of groceries, including local Vermont maple syrup, a nice coffee selection, super cute deli (serving breakfast and lunch sandwiches etc. until 3pm, I think) and plenty of other good stuff too. If you're lucky and happen to be there on the right day, you can score some Heady Topper or Lawson's Finest Liquids, and the staff are always so genuine and friendly. Stop by if you're in town!

It is WAY more than just a convenience store, although it is that, as well They have the best beer selection around--an entire walk in cooler with a broad selection of beers from all over. Wowser! Their deli has great food either cooked to order or serve-yourself hot dishes like chili and Mac and Cheese. After hours for the deli, you can still get a nice set of selections, including my favorite--their deviled eggs. And pretty soon, the serve-yourself creemee machines will be up and running for the season. Did I mention their specials? Including the annual lobster boil? Oh, and they were the first gas station in the Valley to offer ethanol-free gas. Plus, they give back a percentage of gas sales to a local charity each month. The VG is truly a gem! I'm so glad they are here and hope they will be--FOREVER!

I made the appt and when the day came to drop it off before work it just happened to be a huge snowstorm that day. My wife was supposed to pick me up and then off to work, only she couldn't make it off of our street due to the snow and slippery conditions. Dave's guys said no problem they drove me to work! They were more than ready on that snowy day with a great attitude. Changed my belt, fixed my TPMS sensors that Firestone couldn't and did all that at a far cheaper price! Good group. Clean bathrooms with a good amount of stalls, ready made snacks, maple souvenirs and Vermont made spirits. They also have some hot food choices available. Hopefully we will never find ourselves in this situation again, but if we were passing through, would definitely stop by! Open 24/7: even during natural disasters and state of emergencies!
