They have carts for the disabled but they arent allowed to leave the store so how are the disabled supposed to get in to the store to shop? Youre employees are rude and poorly trained. And poorly managed, the manager i "spoke" too didnt tell me her name just told me that the carts cant leave the store and had no answer for me on how the disabled are supposed to get to them, if they are in the store and not allowed to leave the store.. if they could walk they wouldnt need the cart... im absolutely disgusted and outraged at the treatment of the disabled and the elderly. It's still the 603 Marketplace, but in October you may have seen the "under new management" sign and "Haffners" on the sign and pumps. A neighbor told me that Haffner's is a mid-sized business based in northern MA that does oil, propane, gas station/convenience stores between MA and NH, so at least this company has the experience to run a place like this. You may have noticed the gas is now more competitive for the area, not 5-15 cents less per gallon. I went in and it has the same craft and branded beers, some beneficial changes to the deli in terms of quality of meats, and they still have pizza. It may still be too early to figure what changes they will make, so let's watch this carefully. We know the last owner really ran this place as a political action office, not a business, but a hobby. Gone now are the political signs, the disparaging cartoons of politicians at the pumps, the front-door sign saying "we love freedom so take your mask off". As you can see in the below reviews, they unapologetically urged many of us to go elsewhere. The thing is, how many other places are there in town with gas, food and groceries? - actually 4 others, and we went! So now the old owner can publish his business plan: (1) Buy a run-down business in a prime location in a town of about 5000, and pay to bring it up to modern standards, improve grocery options, offer food and pizza. (2) Alienate 40% of the townspeople with your "in your face" politics, and (3) go out of business in 2 years. Oh yeah and (4) Think about "What could have gone differently here". We have a right to our politics and it's a sacred right, but incorporating it into a business is never wise...

Not sure if there's a bathroom inside but the porta potty in the parking lot was disgusting. The positive? ICE CREAM. They serve Richardson's Homemade Ice Cream which they weirdly had literal children serving (I'm not sure on NH's child labor laws but it felt weird). But the portions were HUGE and the ice cream was delicious. I didn't realize the portions were so big because the prices were so reasonable. I paid $8.50 for a small cone of campfire s'mores and a medium cup of coffee kahlua brownie. The cone did start melting the second I walked away (and it wasn't a hot day). I'd go here for ice cream again.

This country store has a dock that we pulled right up to which is very convenient. They have an awesome grill with a large variety of sandwiches and pizza. We ordered tuna on rye, roast beef subs and steak n cheeses. My steak was the bomb and had pepperoni mixed in! Also saw a good variety of beers and wine. Nicely laid out store. Lots of NH themed gifts and cards etc. This is a quintessential little town market and deli where locals can run for a quart of milk or whatever. It was not overly busy even on a Sunday in the summer. If your on the lake and your stomach is grumbling get a steak n cheese and your good to go.

Not only do they totally ignore the customers, each sub takes 10-15 minutes to make, and they make one at a time. Phone orders throw things into reverse. An automatic answer is that phone orders take 45 minutes. In person orders average 30 - 40 minutes. On top of it they are miserable. More than once I have seen customers complain. Nothing changes.

From pizza to deli sandwiches, beer, the normal snacks, Green Mountain Coffee, candy, Lottery, and so much more. Most importantly, the entire store is clean, well organized and stocked to the max. Prices are visible and nothing is really a surprise. Gas prices are pretty good and the cashiers here are just so fast. People move through the line so fast it's crazy. While the store may not have the best prices in the world, they aren't way out of touch, and this place is the only one of it's type in Alton, besides the "Village Store", which isn't nearly as great. Parking is easy and there are entrances to the station in both the front, by the gas station, and in the back, with additional parking. Also, they carry the Boston Sunday Globe which is useful to have up in NH. Located right at the Route 11, Route 28, and Route 28A rotary in Alton. 5 stars. Definitely the best out of the three gas stations in Alton.
