Listen, you're going to hear a lot of opinions about the Cumberland County Mall. Some may say that its current store lineup is lackluster, and to that, I do agree. Even though the place has become a bit more barren, especially with the removal of the kids' arcade games by the main entrance and the recent loss of the candy machines, I still think there's some good left in it. Take my current favorite spot, Raintree Shopping (RS), for example. While at first glance it might look like just another rip-off junk store, there are some amazing gems hidden inside. They sell a super intriguing mix of overstock and off-brand products, usually for dirt cheap. It's the kind of place where you either find really weird stuff, total junk, or absolute gold. Honestly, there's something for everybody in there: For kids: $3 backpack, lunchbox, and pencil case combos featuring popular characters. For tech enthusiasts: Unique charging docks for phones and gaming controllers for under $15. For literally anyone: A goldmine of overstock clothing. Case in point: I recently found brand-name Goodfellow & Co shirts for just 5 bucks, which is a third of what they cost at Target! Plus, their denim section has some surprising finds if you're looking for cheap streetwear basics. While the mall as a whole definitely isn't what it used to be, spots like RS keep it worth making the trip, not to mention that café near Boscov's, which is pretty solid. If you're willing to dig through the oddities, you're almost guaranteed to walk out with a win. Four stars! read more

Cumberland Mall discriminates against people with disabilities. My grandson who is in a wheelchair was not allowed to participate in an event his family was doing at the mall. his father had to take him home. They had put up their exhibit and could no longer participate. The manager of the mall told them could leave and file whatever they wanted to file. read more

The last time I was here I browsed through a long defunct Sam Goody record store when vinyl albums were not yet ironic Gen-Z heirlooms. The intervening two decades really hasn't improved things. No real anchor stores to speak of (unless Marshall's and BJs count) and a bunch of usual suspect shops that litter most malls along with a miniscule food court where both justice and taste are blind. as a lifelong vineland resident, this mall has always been a disappointment. the turnover rate of stores is ridiculous, the current selection is abysmal, everything costs the same or more than the prices online there's really no reason to come here unless you want a pretzel that'll hurt your stomach. service varies from store to store but the workers are chill overall just a sad excuse for a mall. read more

I am not a mall shopper and the Cumberland Mall does absolutely nothing to change that. This mall is barely a mall. There are empty stores. There is little to draw one to the mall. Boscov' is okay for some things. The Gap and Old Navy are what they are. Luca's Pizza is the draw to the mall. That they have two locations indicates to me that they are doing what they can to prop the mall up. The mall is what we have here in this area. I use it when it's convenient, but that isn't often. I have also banned my daughter from ever thinking she is going to hang out here when she's a teenager. read more

The traditional American Mall has become passé as time has passed. The new trend is the sprawling "town center" style shopping center where you can park outside of the door of your favorite store... almost a throwback to pre-mall days. This future of retail is down the street at Union Lake Crossing, where the stores share a parking lot, and little else. But back to Cumberland Mall, since this is a review about it: Cumberland Mall has attempted to merge more modern retail trends by creating satellite stores with entrances from the parking lot and no common access to the mall interior, featuring stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond, Marshalls, Toys R Us, etc. Out in the parking lot on the "pad sites" are Home Depot, BJ's, Regal Cinemas, Red Lobster, BestBuy, Applebee's and Chik-Fil-A. The majority of retail shops are inside in traditional mall fashion. All of the usual mid-range mall retailers are present: Old Navy, Victoria's Secret, Spencer Gifts, BAM!, etc. There is no food court. Eateries range from independent pizza and ethnic restaurants, to chains like Salad Works, Friendly's and Auntie Anne's Pretzels. There are a few vacant storefronts that are camouflaged with retail displays to make the place look a little less depressing. You can tell a lot about a mall by its anchor stores. Cumberland Mall's anchors are Boscov's, J. C. Penney and Burlington Coat Factory. This is definitely not Nordstrom, H&M or Lord & Taylor country, folks. This is a blue collar mall... one that was barely surviving in the past, but now seems even more desperate in this lousy economy. It's very telling that if you look at the reviews for the Flea Market up the road, that place manages a three star Yelp rating, compared to the overwhelming average of 2 stars for this pace. On weekends, Cumberland Mall becomes home to obnoxious mall rats. The mall cops do their best to keep things under control, but if you're over 18 you'll find shopping at those times insufferable. Other than during the Christmas and Back-To-School shopping seasons, the place is otherwise pretty low key. The only crowds you'll need to watch out for are the occasional packs of Mall Walkers. The Mall has a gift certificate/card program where you can buy one gift card that's redeemable at any Mall store. It's convenient, but due to the paucity of decent retail options, the gift cards will be received with the same enthusiasm as a box of raw liver and they'll wonder what they did to offend you so much. read more

It's a pretty nice mall. This mall is like a flashback to the malls from my youth in the 90's. I think the floor tiles are likely left over from that era, if not they surely would have fit right in. It has a very small town mall vibe. The stores are pretty standard and most of the basics are covered. Almost all the major mall chains are represented here. It shares a parking space with some other nice stores like Toys r Us and Bed Bath and Beyond. The lack of a food court is made up for by a rather surprising variety of restaurants peppered throughout the mall. A solid mall for local shoppers, but nothing so special as to justify a large drive. read more

I don't know where to start when i speak of the Cumberland Mall. How any of these stores are still open is beyond me. I stroll through there once in a blue moon, just to see an old friend of mine who works at the Verizon. Bad stores, along with bad customer service and no selection usual, equals doom. I hate to say this but the mall needs to be knocked down and expanded to include at least a second floor, bigger food court, and maybe a place where people young and not so young can actually have fun, perhaps a gameroom type of place on the small scale of a Dave & Buster's. Sorry, i know it will never happen. Between the size of the property and being stuck in the armpit of poverty, my dream of enjoyable shopping has to wait. I'm just tired of driving to Cherry Hill, & King of Prussia to have an enjoyable time shopping with the family. I breeze through the Cumberland Mall in 10 mins, the only positive things i can say these days about the mall is at least in the last several years, they now have the movie theater, Bed Bath & Beyond, and the new rib place, which i haven't tried yet, but other than that this is by far the worst "mall" in NJ. It wasn't what I thought a mall would be. To me, a mall is connected on the inside with many small stores and also department stores. But this was mainly a few large stores that just shared the same parking lot. read more

Whenever I want to be reminded of why I moved out of South Jersey, I come here. The best store in here is The Gap and that is not saying much. Aside from the patrons who spend their time walking ( they don't actually do much shopping) around, there are a bunch of teens who choose to make this place their local hangout. On a weekend night this place gets rowdy and loud! It has been this way for about ten years and I don't see it changing. In fact, it has become so bad that they have now placed various security guards at random locations throughout the mall. The actual establishment itself is very small. It only holds about 15 small stores and a handful of large stores. read more

This was my first time in this mall and Vineland. This mall is ok, they got some good typical stores like Boscov's, Lids, Old Navy. This mall doesn't have Macy's, JCPenney. I saw that they had Footaction and the last time I went to Footaction store was back in April 2012 in NYC when I was there for the car show. read more

Sad little place. I worked in a store here (That left the mall back 6 years ago) for over a decade so I got to see the slow decay it went through. Nothing remains. It's an empty husk. The only good thing about it is that the place is almost ABANDONED during the weekdays and if you go around noontime on a weekday you pretty much have the mall all to yourself. I'd often go in and hit Auntie Anne's then check out the Shoe Dept. when I'm there....then leave. Nothing much to speak of. It's a shame since back in the 80s when they had the huge pit area with the benches and the space port arcade this was *THE* hip spot to be. How I miss thee, orange julius. read more

I actually enjoy Cumberland Mall, and I think it's getting better and better. As time goes on, the retailers have been improving. The Mall itself is small, but mighty. Surely it cannot compete with the likes of Deptford, Christiana, or Cherry Hill, but I think it does the job...when I go in search of something, I can usually find it at Cumberland without much hassle. Sometimes it's nice if I just don't feel like traveling or dealing with a huge mall. There are all the essential "mall" retailers you would expect, plus some other great shopping and dining options in the surrounding area. read more

As far as malls go, CCM is middle of the road. It has Boscov's as it's main anchor with Burlington Coat Factory and Marshall's also attached. All of your typical stores are here but the mall desperately misses a food court. There are a few places to grab a bite including Saladworks and a local coffee shop. Ulta came in recently which was classy but otherwise it's a place to get some of the things you need. read more

This little shopping center, or what they call a mall, is horrible. I personally think they hire the rudest, unintelligent, and or degenerate qualities. I have been here on several occasions and each time it gets worse. It's not only the customers, but the employees. Only here can you walk into a store and if greeted something along the lines of "what's good?" Or some other slang. If for some reason you come here to shop, don't be surprised by no food court, any non ghetto stores(stores you never heard of unless your living in the ghetto). From gamestop to fye, AT&T and Burlington coat, one thing constantly guaranteed that you'll have a to deal with someone uneducated and leave even more upset. These are the same people who go food shopping loading 2 shopping carts worth of stuff, only to have their card denied. However like most people witnessing that type of event, we already know you're broke and enjoy watching others actually work. Personally they should just knock that place down. read more

Mall has improved over the last few years with newer stores like Ulta, viet bistro , Burlington Coat Factory and recently Kay Jewelers ... My favorite stores remain to be Marshall's, Perfuroma and Bath and body works.... read more
