I purchased a $22 dishtowel which the cashier rolled up and handed to me. I asked for a small bag. She said that is an additional $.50 charge--for a small sandwich size bag. Ridiculous. This is a fabulous cooperative with many many different artisans and shops participating. You can find so many interesting and unique items here. My 3 friends and I had a ball checking out each little pocket of stores. And happily they even have a restroom! In January there were a lot of sales, too. Discovered this place during one of the big spring craft fairs. We made our way up and down the main drag, shopping and eating and oohing and aahing. For a bit of break, we stopped in here to browse the cool little sections within the building. There are several different little "boutiques" inside, all with a different kind of style of home goods, crafts, clothing, etc. Really fun, air-conditioned so comfortable in the heat, bathrooms, etc. Somethin' for errryone inside. read more

What's interesting about Stainton's is it's a huge space with all different items for sale separated in different sections. It is a great place to wander around even if your not looking for anything. To be clear, this is not an art "gallery". No parking and most stuff in this store can be found online. (The few corners that have original stuff have better inventory online and during craft fairs.) If u want cheap tchotchke and hot sauces, this is your place. I prefer "Costal Consignments" for my beach decor. Much better gifts and antiques and it's a bit further South, so parking is a bit easier. Updating my review to 1-star because the media representative of the store decided to use my review to advertise things that were not present when I shopped there. I've never seen free coffee and donuts while I shop. Lots of shops and new galleries on Asbury, so I recommend one of those instead of this one. read more

Amazing shopping experience and fun vibe UNTIL we went to check out. The girl who runs the place was so rude to everyone in line and kept bullying people how to check out. She said to us several times no stand here don't go there. Having been in retail for over 40 years, I have never experienced anything like it. Horribly confusing and the women at the check out were visibly upset. She turned a fun shopping time into a very sour time. Because of all the confusion they forgot to ring up some of our products. I don't think I'll ever go back and have contacted vendors directly to buy from them. read more

I walked into this department store to expect a typical beach department store filled with towels and swim suits. BOY WAS I SURPRISED. This store was amazing! First of all, it was huge! You could walk around freely without employees on your back and the stuff was so cool! The store consists of different tiny shops. No vendors were at the tiny shops. All of the shops were just the store's merchandise. My family and I enjoyed this store so much! The stores offered things from rings to candy to phone cases to high waisted shorts to furniture! Everything you can imagine! They even had a little snack bar in the back for food and drinks. I didn't eat there but it sure looked good. I came in during the off season and walked around watching my wife pick out various clothing items and hats. Worth a star for what she found, however pass on the vinyl... Normally I don't buy vinyl records at places like this but I stumbled onto quite a few worth adding to my collection despite the terrible condition of many. Typically these go for $0.25 anywhere else, maybe a $1 on the high end. All of them were ridiculously over priced at quadruple what they were worth. All seemingly random, $5, $4, $6. We're not talking about rare gems in mint condition here. So I gathered almost $100 worth thinking they were items looking to be sold by someone trying to make money. I understand the place is a bunch of independent shops in a single store so I wasn't shocked when I asked the young lady at the register if I could round them off to $2 a piece. I was buying so many any sane person would make the offer. She said they weren't hers and there was nothing we could do about it. So I only bought $20 worth. Whoever is motivated to make sales here does NOT have the vendors interests at heart. It's plain as day. This place is making money either way, regardless of making vendors money on sales. Enjoy writing checks to a business that has more incentive to sell you a storage locker than making you a dollar. Eventually you'll realize that a farmers market works because of the farmers, not the market space... read more

I always make it a point to stop by this wonderful mashups of little Boutique shops every time I'm in Ocean City. It's easy to get to right in the middle of town. It's put together like a co-op, there's lots of little stands or booths within the building that have all sorts of things from housewares to clothing to jewelry. You go ahead and pick out what you want and you bring it to a central counter in the center to pay. A lot of it can tend to be pretty expensive. But there are so many unusual items you're bound to find something that strikes your fancy. One of the booths even has Gourmet oils and Seasonings. I was able to snag a lovely pair of earrings this last time I visited for only $5. I get compliments on them all the time. If you're coming to Ocean City this is definitely worth a stop because there's something for everybody in your group. read more

I remember Stainton's when it was a department store. Now. Zero parking. They sold their parking to the condos upstairs. This place is hilariously bad. Very unorganized "department" store and most of the merchandise is from China not locally made or made in the US. You can literally take a picture of most merchandise and find it cheaper anywhere else including Amazon. Save yourself some money and the parking ticket and shop online. read more

Not what i expected at all. i thought it would be nice unique hand made items, instead it is a lot of overpriced items from China that can be purchased on the internet at half the price. An overpriced eyesore. I'll skip it next time i go to OC. read more
