After seven years with Cumberland Mutual, always paying on time and never filing a claim, my homeowner's insurance was cancelled on Christmas Day. In 2021, I self-reported a minor dog-related incident out of caution. Nothing ever came of it- no claim, no payout. Nearly five years later, Cumberland Mutual suddenly used that disclosure to give me two weeks to remove my dog or lose coverage. This experience showed a complete lack of loyalty and common sense. Punishing honesty years later and cancelling coverage on a major holiday is unacceptable. I ultimately found a better and less expensive policy elsewhere, but would not recommend Cumberland Mutual to long-term homeowners. read more

After being five days late with a payment, I got a letter saying my policy is no longer in effect, thank you for your past patronage, no further notice will be sent. I paid them thousands of dollars over the years and this rude letter is not how you should treat customers. read more
