The specialist claimed the cost was now $100, as the repairs weren't covered under my warranty. When I asked for specifics, I was told the toilet needed replacing, the water line required replacement due to my home's age, and another toilet needed to be rebuilt. To verify, I invited my realtor to join the call. During the conversation, the specialist increased the charge from $100 to $200. Afterward, my realtor gave me a regional manager's contact information, but I chose not to follow up. Later, I learned the plumber had reported that the toilet's internal parts needed rebuilding and the water line required replacement because water wasn't entering the tank. My husband checked and discovered the real issue: a damaged hose. He purchased a Fill Valve Kit from Home Depot for $18.35, installed it himself, and the toilet now works perfectly. Does Choice Home Warranty vet the contractors they send out? It's seems like they are scammers and I would stay far away from them.

I dont know who CHOICE PAID for a 5 STAR Service rating. CHOICE gets a BIG ZERO in Customer Service and appliance warranty. As of today I am back with FIRST AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY. Last I checked I wasn't a psychic so I'm trying to figure out exactly how they can claim such. They said that "it would take that part a certain amount of time to actually breakdown" so that would be the reason I had to know. Yes, I did try to appeal but that was just a waste of time since they had already determined that their answer wasn't going to change. If that is how equipment and parts are looked at I truly don't see how they assist in repairing/replacing anything! Do not waste time or money on this company. I will be taking my business elsewhere and hopefully find some place Veteran friendly. If this is how they operate I truly don't understand how they are still in business. NO ONE EVER should have to go through this experience. The following week I contacted Modern Heating in Bridgeton for a second opinion and they discovered a clogged drain line which they cleared and billed me $120 and I haven't had anymore issues for over a month now.
