Unprofessional at best. Extremely disappointed with the services of Robert Lamm. I had concerns that my parents' trust was out of date and might be negatively impacted by the newly passed Prop 19, so I made an appointment to meet him along with my mother. My brokerage featured him in a meeting regarding Prop 19 and real estate, I felt like we'd be in a safe pair of hands. Bob Lamm was cordial and voiced a willingness in the meeting to look over the trust and make recommendations. My mother left the documentation with him and told him that his expertise was valued and while not in a rush, we would the trust to be updated. He agreed and accepted the bound documents. One month went by, then another, nothing, not a phone call, no response whatsoever; I was so surprised to be dropped like that without a notion of what was happening. Honesty is the best policy, if the trust was not worth his time, Bob Lamm could have expressed this in a diplomatic fashion, my mother, while proud of her well organized leather bound trust is under no illusion that it is anything more than modest size and we would not be offended if he had been forthright and honest and recommended another company. Instead, I phoned the office 2.5 months after the initial meeting and left a message with the reception that we hadn't heard anything from Bob Lamm and that I would like to come by and pick up the trust. No response! A few weeks pass and I call the office again and ask when I can come by...the reception replies to my query says, "Oh, it's here, up in front". Really???? All the sensitive documents have been sitting up at the reception desk for goodness knows how long with NO ATTEMPT to contact me and let me know it is there? Wow. Wow. Message received, our business is not needed nor welcome. Bob Lamm's behavior was appallingly unprofessional and possibly in violation of some privacy protocols. Perhaps you'll have better luck with Cummins and White than we did...especially if your trust is worth more money. read more

I retained this company to assist me with a dispute with my Homeowners Insurance. I was advised that the lawyer I was assigned to specialized in this area. At the end of the day the Homeowners Insurance only agreed to award damages in reference to that which was not pertaining to what I had asked my lawyer to support. I watched as my lawyer stood with us in the parking lot, after the recorded deposition with the insurance company was completed, and finally flipped through the contract to read the portion of the Homeowners Insurance contract that was fundamental to proceedings! I am not certain he ever read the Homeowners Insurance contract, but certainly surprised that as we stood there, finally acknowledged the portion that he was hired to assist with. After the judgement was rendered denying the amount based on what we were pursuing, he offered no other assistance. They took their retainer and didn't even respond to my last email. I would not recommend using this law firm based on my experience. read more

Going through a recent invoice from C&W, I noted a few aggressively billed items and asked my lawyer friends to see if it was normal practice. They said absolutely not. I might have looked past this minor bit of bill padding if their work had been stellar to date but it was routinely spotty and I had to personally go through it to correct small mistakes and incomplete work. I had been experiencing an escalating hostile environment at work and needed to talk to an attorney about my options. I tried several attorneys and got the run around/pass on to someone else treatment. Although I noticed that Cummins & White represented employers, I decided to call anyway. I was promptly connected to Attorney Eric Becker's assistant, who was lovely and helpful and arranged for Eric Becker to call me the next day. When Mr. Becker called, I had to tell him I would call be in a few minutes as there was no privacy. He was very kind when I called back, listend pateintly, explained my situation from the employer's point of view, what my stand was and what I could do about the problem. He spent several minutes on the phone with me, was very thorough and professional, and there was no mention of any fee. I can only imagine the type of great service you would get from this firm if this is how they treat someone who isn't a client. Their prices are higher, but I got ripped-off by Mr. Mark Holmes (at another firm) on a similar lease agreement review. Corey gave me a red-lined version of the lease with what I had asked for AND his personal guidance in comments section as to why he made that edit! If you need a Trust or any type of Estate Planning, Robert is your guy. Plus, just recently I had to transfer a property out of the name of the Trust and back into my personal name in order to do a refinance. I was up against a time deadline and Robert and his staff expedited everything for me and got it done within the amount of time I had left. They are great and if you have children and don't have a Trust set up, its highly advisable to do so. Probate is not a pleasant experience. read more

Be real careful with this group. I went in for a consultation for a lien, and was quoted, "a few thousand dollars" to handle the matter. When the bill came it was over $26,000.00. Had to go to fee arbitration, which got the fee was reduced by half. I would not recommend this firm. read more
