Zero stars if I could. Worked at this company. Pay often late or none at all at Saunders & Associates. Abusive this way even though they say they are nice to us. Waiting so long for pay, I could not pay my electric bill, medical care, vehicle repairs, and other things that happen in life. I've worked there and know that clients' cases are not promptly attended to, and there is a rush to do something every day--one fire after another. Taking advantage of people, I see. They place ads to keep hiring people because people (like me) who have not been paid have to get paid so we can afford to live. So, the new people have no idea that they will soon have this happen to them. They are lucky when they find someone extremely experienced and skilled and put up with their bullshit of not paying for work done. There is at least one court judgment against Saunders & Associates for not paying their bills. So, the pattern continues--get stuff done, don't pay, hire more people to get more stuff done, and not pay. The stuff that is done is partially done and does not help the clients, who then get angry. This firm has been debarred. They convinced me to pay $18,000 retainer so they can file immediately regarding my son's well-being due to safety and neglect at his school. I was told they would file a demand to the school district within 24hrs yet for 5 months of neglected by Saunders to file any pleadings or anything with the courts or any demands to the school district and would never return my phone call emails or messages. I asked for a refund of the retainer since they could not provide any work had been done, they promptly filed something with the courts 3 months later and told me they cannot refund me and that I would need to pay a second retainer of $25,000. They filed a declaration that I never wrote to a defendant that is incorrect and fictitious and made up. This is one of the few attorney's in California that has actually had charges filed against them by the State Bar. Be sure to lookup Attorney Saunders on the California Bar website. You will see that he had been charged multiple times and had his license to practice law suspended more than once. Our experience with Gary Saunders was similar to all the other reviews. He is extremely aggressive in collecting money, but produces very little actual work. He provided us templates that we had to fill out, but we have no legal training. The lawyer himself never reached out to me, I left messages via email and through their customer portal, left message with the receptionist and never received call back or an email reply. Gary Saunders was hired on a flat fee agreement basis to carry out our Tenant Law litigation against our former landlord who failed to conduct proper inspections prior to taking possession of the home. This led to an uninhabitable home and my son having health issues within 30 days of retaining possession. Due to the displacement from our home by living in multiple hotels while we awaited our counsel's guidance, Gary expressed he was willing to work with us on our payments as he did. However, throughout the time we retained Gary, he randomly instilled fear in us by threatening to relieve himself from the case if we did not pay requested amounts within his spontaneous time frames, which again would be at random, making it nearly impossible for us to fulfill. It seemed intentional because he made sure to have conversations of our payment arrangements over the phone - therefore we believe it was to ensure there would be no trace of the verbal arrangements and via email it looked to his favor when he would make his demands. It is our belief that he was seeking ways to relieve himself after being paid because it didn't start happening until we started getting closer to the end of paying off our agreement. To date Gary was paid 10,000 of the 12,000 flat fee agreement. We were given forms and tasks to complete, which were completed. As we are not educated in law, there was difficulty in filling out the forms and questions. Gary then proceeded to express we were not serious about our case. He then filed a motion to be relieved before completing the litigation. His reasons were an "unhealthy client attorney relationship"; however we did not speak with him more than a handful of times as his office did not reciprocate communication numerous times which there is proof of. It makes sense because client misconduct is what appears he was suspended for. 8 counts to be exact. In other words, don't waste your money. Only a crooked lawyer would prey on those in distress before taking that amount of money and then find it acceptable to abandon a client. Vasili apologized for the negative encounter with his colleague and offered to help at no cost with a demand letter and drafting a lawsuit. I provided him with all the necessary and requested documents and information for him to draft a demand letter and lawsuit. He was responsive for the first days and now almost a month later, im left without a message or email back for days and weeks on end with excuse after excuse as to why I still don't have the demand letter or draft he promised. I understand this is being done at no cost, but my situation has been going on for months now, now being delayed by promised OFFERED help. These guys are complete scams. Vasili Papas is the "cfo" Gary Saunders is supposedly the attorney and their license was suspended twice I looked it up on the California State Bars website. I submitted a complaint with the California State Bar and they are opening an investigation against this scammer. I paid them via wire $15,000 because they didn't want to take a payment with a credit card reason why is because they would get a ton of chargebacks. I left several 7 emails and none of which they responded to and I called over 10 times and I also messaged them through the portal and they never responded. The assistant is useless and so is everyone in that firm. They leave me on hold every time I call in only to say that they are all busy. These 5 star reviews they have are all fake. They are total scammers. Do yourself a favor. Look them up first. Look up their license number you'll see t was suspended for same issue I'm facing with them.
