Buddy had my car for a couple months trying to find parts. In that time his technician got into an accident with my car. Fine, they'll fix it and get to working on the real problem. Over the holidays, the owner of the shop decides to leave my vehicle on the street outside of his lot. Tuesday morning I get a call from VPD. "Sir, someone has broken into your car and your car is filling with rain. I call Arbutus service centre, leave a msg, don't hear back. I call back at noon the next day, speak to the owner. "Oh it's not my responsibility where your car is left, I won't be taking any responsibility for the damage caused." You couldn't even call me to give me the option to move my car out of your location if you didn't have time to work on it or it was taking space or was going to sit there over the holidays. That's what you do Steve, you call the client and say "hey, parts haven't come in, I don't have room to store your car, can you come pick it up? I'll call ya when the part is in and you can bring it back. You DON'T leave the vehicle on the street, quite simple. My car being broken into is not what bothered me, nor the fact that I trusted my vehicle with this mechanic or that I spent 5k and the mechanical issue still persisted. It was the shitty attitude and absolute lack of any ownership that made me loose 1000% respect for this person and his business. If that's the new norm, bring your car to a mechanic but you can't trust they'll keep your car safe, I call bullshit. Raju worked with me regarding the quoted work from 2025 and took care of it as if it only happened yesterday. I was so pleasantly surprised when the repaired area made the car look brand new again. It helped that he washed/polished and cleaned the interior as well, all without asking him to do so. He even fixed a teeny dent that wasn't even part of the damaged area but near it. I took the car back home and thought this was a bit much. After looking into it, they charged me 125 labor for not fixing it 100 for parts and wanted another 100 upon completion. I paid them 225. The part they charged me 100 I came to find out costs 30, and on top of that it was the wrong part. I opened the door panel and found out a little plastic clip was broken and went to Lordco and bought it for $5.00 for 6 in a box. Took me altogether 30 minutes to take the door panel out and put it back in. They are either incompetent or dishonest, possibly both!

He recommended I pull the starter out and take it to Bobby at Edmonds Starters & Alternators. If you judge a book by its cover, their shop isn't exactly eye candy. The awning is old and faded and the counters and shelves are right out of the 60s. But they know what their taking about, and they do great work. My starter was rebuilt in 2 hours. I put it back in my truck and problem solved. Saved me hundreds of $$ compared to buying a new starter motor, or letting a dealer replace it. Will use them again

Immediately as I'm driving away, it begins to shake violently when idling at red lights, even dying. I bring it back the next day and they say the spark plugs that "looked" fine yesterday are now shot and now FOUR need to be replaced. Funny coincidence eh? Why were my spark plugs working one day, then immediately after leaving Dewdney Auto, four of them are faulty, and need to be replaced immediately, or else my car would die? They then CHARGED ME $250 BUCKS TO CHANGE MY SPARK PLUGS. Also CHARGED ME $170 FOR A ~$40 Engine Torque Strut. Why was I charged $170.13 for a part that costs ~$40 No amount of shipping could account for that mark up. CONSUMER BEWARE!!
