When I returned to pick up my car, I was surprised with a $315 bill with no prior notice or authorization. I had no choice but to pay to get my car back. I've had inspections done at other shops in the area at no charge. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and not in line with BC consumer protection standards. I contacted them directly to resolve the issue and over a week has passed with no response. I've since opened a dispute with my credit card provider. I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience so others don't go through the same situation.

His shop has been doing oil changes,starters,,master cylinders,tires,Brakes Alternaters and services on my cars.Always repaired correctly and affordably. Its nice to see a familiar face at a garage shop with someone who knows you and your vehicles anytime you need auto repairs. Sabis shop is very qualified with very honest and reliable mechanics and I would not take my car anywhere else. I have previously worked at a Chevrolet dealership for 5 years.i would distribute service work orders to mechanics (12 of them) so i have seen the inside of the automotive business. When I picked up my vehicle the kind man informed me that he sealed my tire and pumped up my spare tire to its correct pressure. The best part about all of this was that it cost me under $30! The team at Avatar Auto then told me that my rear pads did not need changing as they still had more than 50% life in them. They ended up changing the front only, and gave me very reasonable pricing. I'm extremely disappointed after having this vehicle independently inspected…read more Before purchasing the car, I spoke directly with Tuan because he was the mechanic who had been servicing the vehicle. I was told that Tuan had actually inspected the car the DAY BEFORE I spoke with him, so I specifically asked him about the condition of the vehicle before making my decision to buy it. During our conversation, Tuan told me the car had a small exhaust leak. No other significant problems were mentioned to me. Given that I was speaking directly with the mechanic who had reportedly inspected this exact vehicle just the day before, I understandably put significant weight on what he told me. I was left with the impression that, aside from the small exhaust leak, there weren't any major issues I needed to be concerned about. Unfortunately, shortly after purchasing the car, I had it independently inspected and discovered a VERY different picture. The independent inspection found very worn control arm/subframe bushings, with the control arm issue considered urgent, front tires worn as low as 2/32", a coolant leak, a weak battery, old engine oil and a non-functioning centre brake light, among other maintenance concerns. Had Tuan not seen the vehicle recently, I could understand him not knowing its current condition. What concerns me is that I specifically contacted him because I was told he had inspected the car the previous day, yet the only issue mentioned to me was a small exhaust leak. I obviously cannot know exactly what was observed during that inspection or which issues Tuan was aware of, so I won't claim that I do. However, I find it extremely concerning that another inspection shortly afterward identified multiple problems--including an urgent suspension issue and front tires worn as low as 2/32"--that were never mentioned to me. Had I known about these issues, they absolutely would have affected my decision to purchase the vehicle and what I was willing to pay for it. Based on my experience, if you are considering purchasing a used vehicle that has been serviced or inspected here, I would strongly recommend getting an independent pre-purchase inspection before relying on the information you are given about its condition.

The second estimate was done by telephone with a Port Moody shop ($1300). A third estimate was given on a personal visit to a Honda dealership, again for $1300. We were sent to Kinghill Automotive by our son-in-law who always has used this repair shop and highly recommended it. A diagnostic charge of $150 found a problem with the relay system and a dead battery connected to it. (I think I got that right). Great diagnostic work indeed! Anyway delighted with a bill just over 300$. Also appreciated a ride to the 22 nd Street Station and a pick up when we got off the bus too soon and got stuck on the other side of the overpass. Brought my car in at appointment time but they sent me away. "Too busy" right now they said. Came back at new appointment time. This time someone had called in sick and they couldn't fix it. Third time there and the employee working only replaced one of the two required exhaust pipes BUT didn't say anything!!!! The other pipe he just stuffed with muffler putty (?!) He dead eyed told me both parts were installed and charged me for both!!!! Liaaaaaars. I went out to the parking lot, looked under the car, which still sounded like it was leaking exhaust and literally saw muffler putty spurting out. Went back in and called them out on it. Wtf?!?!!? Stone faced lie. The owner then got involved and blah blah blah. Fast talking slick eddy. Ended up fixing it as originally said but charged me double than the quoted price. I was a teenager at the time and didn't push back too hard. You tell me if that's how honest, good business is done? I never went back, told everyone I know my experience and everyone else relayed similar horror stories. They've had a bad rep for decades and the only way their Yelp rating is as high as it is, is insiders pumping up the number. Scammers. 100% Would strongly not recommend.
