A little disappointed at this event. It didnt cater much to our culture. It seemed more like a park event. Ive been to a few Cultural Festival and i have experienced and learned about the chamorro culture, vietnamese, mexican, chinese culture etc. Versus this event -- they didnt have the filipino flags, parole, halo-halo, filipino songs, games, bamboo, Big Spoon or Fork LOL. They had a lot of cool performances that was fun. They had a huge stage and should of had a game show like on TFC or WOWOWEE. My friend and i plan to have the halo halo stand next year to feel more like home. They had a good amount of food choices from other places. there was only one station serving pancit and loompya. Manila Sunset, seafood city or tita's kitchenette should have been there as sponsor to support or sell their food. I hope next year it will be better. I look forward to the National City one.

Best Little League in the Southbay!…read more Parkview has a nostalgic feel to it and a lot of great baseball players currently play or came from this neighborhood little league. Not to mention the the historic 2009 World Series champions set Parkview on the map. It's a family friendly environment. The coaches are all volunteers and do a wonderful job teaching & mentoring the kids. The Parkview staff do an exceptional job maintaining the baseball fields for our kids. Just wish a generous donor can pay for some much needed remodeling on the grounds, add more turf and make a pavilion over the snack bar. All in all, Parkview Little League is the finest baseball league in Chula Vista.

I'd fully recommend trolleying here, we parked our cars from Little Italy and made our way down in about 10 minutes. The area itself, since it is downtown has a bigger popular for homeless people. My boyfriend took me here to see a game, tickets online were ranging from $40-$80. We got pretty good seats for the cheapest. The vibes were great, people wearing their padres gear, and there were multiple food and drink vendors available as well. Highly recommend booking a ticket for the Padres Game, it's something you can't miss if you're in San Diego and enjoy baseball!

I wore my standby favorite 2024 San Diego Padres Filipino Heritage jersey. I remember when Petco Park was still in their construction phase and our group was given a private tour. In the Air Force, we had a nonprofit group, The Top Three, which raised funds for morale, etc for our squadron. We had contracts with other venues to do volunteer work in their concession stands and reap 10% of total sales. Needless to say, we were able to raise a great deal of funds for the unit. We were hoping to broker a similar agreement with Petco Park. Since its official opening wasn't until 2004, our unit members willing to volunteer decreased so we never worked Petco's concession stands. I do recall that they had state of the art beverage delivery systems. I had gone to a company event at Petco in 2005. My mom & dad were able to go and were just so excited. My dad proudly wore his Padres baseball cap, t-shirt, and was ready to cheer on his favorite team. My mom said he could barely sleep the night before! It is such a fantastic and well structured stadium. Having the trolley nearby is so convenient and this stadium is such a great addition to downtown. The seats are comfortable and the electronic displays and screens make it easy for visual reference & entertaining. It's truly a great home base for the San Diego Padres.

However, the parking lot is too small to accommodate the traffic that softball brings. Which creates a traffic nightmare with lots of pedestrians in the roadway. Top secret info: Police often park their cars in this lot after sundown. The parking lot faces a stop sign, it's basically like shooting fish in a barrel. Once a month, a nearby church sponsors an outdoor movie night here. Kids just love it. The best time to come is on the weekday mornings. A group of older gentlemen race their R/C cars on the baseball diamond, which is always fun to watch. Do be careful though, I've never seen a dog on a leash at this park.

When we approached the location, there was a co-Ed little league team ending their evening practice. There were about 5-7 cars of families packing up from the field and departing the lot. The parking lot can hold about 35-40 parked cars, with 2-3 handicap parking spots as well. The field is used by many weekend adult soccer players so Saturday and Sunday is normally jammed packed starting at 7am and ending about 6p. There are cars that line the streets in the neighborhood during this time. This recreational center is a very popular spot for little league games, adult soccer on weekends, the Neighborhood Festivals, birthday parties, recreation center clubs, and school break camps. The indoor space is rented to martial arts classes, birthday parties, baby showers, sports banquets, and other private events. The indoor space can hold about 40-50 people when they setup events. There is a half basketball court on the side of this recreational center but it is not marked up as a half court. It just has plain cement as a court, balls can be checked out from the staff when they are open. For Easter and other holidays they sometimes have special events that the City of SD Parks & Recreation Dept hosts, with our tax dollars, and they are great for the kids in the area. I especially like to see the "Teen Nights" as they offer at risk youth an opportunity to participate in meaningful and positive events. There is also free WiFi here. Overall, great location to take a walk on the field and nice place for little ones to play in the smaller playground.

Remember, this isn't a park with a huge play area (jungle gym, multiple slides, tons of swing sets, etc)- it's an athletic field. Sundays are predominately for soccer leagues accommodating different age groups. That grassy field is huge & towered by mature eucalyptus trees. The baseball diamond has a set of weathered bleachers that look like splinters are happy to poke your butt when you sit down on them. There are men/ women restrooms available. I have a longtime friend who is an official AKBC (American Kennel Bulldog Club) Judge & she has used Penn Athletic Field twice a year to host shows. The community of Paradise Hills launched it's first community gathering here in December '17- Paradise Hills Night Market- which showcased many residents/ alumni w/in the neighborhood to showcase their goods (art, food, music, etc.). Infield dirt is perfectly swept and leavelled as flat as marble. Outfield is green and lush without any dry patches. They also have couple of batting cages and couple of pitching mounts for practice. There is other field by the side which is little low key field, may be for practices. This Baseball field is well maintained infield and outfield ideal for baseball practices or games. Nice dugot for the teams with the benches. Parking is tight, only handful of spots. Also little close to the 1st base, so be aware of that. The other drawback is restroom, they don't have full restroom. They do have a porta potty. This are is very residential, so don't expect shops around. Over all well maintained filed and very family friendly field.

Being next to the ocean made for a very peacful meditation in the afternoon on a beautiful warm sunny day. Also the people walking around were very quiet and would keep very low voices when talking to not to disturb people. If you are ever in the area and like to meditate or just sit somewhere peaceful, this place and it is free to visit. One thing though. I don't think this place has a ramp to make it up the hill. There is a flight of stairs but it's not that bad. I made it up without a problem. I felt like I walked up two floors.
