Pretty darn good…read more I'll caveat this with my coworker had some issues with his order, but they corrected it promptly so great service! The food comes out super fast, and it's as I mentioned pretty darn good I cannot complain! The po boy I got was tasty, and just enough food to keep me happy for the afternoon. This spot definitely rocks for lunch with it's speedy service and laid back atmosphere. The food itself, as I said it comes out fast! Like, questionably so but it wasn't bad so I can't complain haha. The one thing I didn't love is the cheese in my Po Boy got stuck to the wrapper it came out in so I lost a lot of cheese to the paper. Let's chat about ambiance fast, it's an interesting atmosphere very american but also very New Orleans at the same time. I like it but the walls are a smattering of different themes and ideas which makes for a somewhat incoherent atmosphere. Still, the music was at a good volume for conversation and for work. So yeah I'm happy!

Haven't been here for some time and decided to try them a second time. Had a cup of gumbo with a…read moresmall jambalaya. Generally most places will serve gumbo with a scoop of rice in the bowl but Zydeco just mixes it all in. The jambalaya was "just okay" and needed a boost of flavor and heat with some Crystal Louisiana hot sauce. Overall, not bad but I have had better. Oh , and about the beignets - come on folks! These are just deep fried squares or lumps of flour drizzled or dusted (or, here, drowned) with powder sugar. (Warning: Don't wear dark clothing, don't breathe or blow air on your beignet if they are still hot because, if you do, everyone will know know what you had for dessert!). The "service" was "just okay". Now you go up to the counter and order first. Get your own table and cleanup by taking dishes over to a tub when you're done eating. That's fine, not hard. But why pay a big tip for little to no customer "service?" As noted in other reviews I have asked: How does one gauge a tip when you order first at a counter, pay, find your own seating, get the food, and then expected to bus your own table? Under these circumstances, I'll tip 15% up front If I'm expected to pay first. I can always provide an extra tip for "extra" ordinary service and/or food before I leave. While I like the patriotic theme - and as observed the last time I was here - the place is a little outdated and could use a facelift.

He helped guide our choices without being pushy, and his recommendations were spot-on. For his birthday meal, my husband ordered a steak and I had the salmon--both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Evan checked in at all the right times, making sure everything was just right without ever interrupting the flow of our evening. What really set Evan apart was how he elevated the celebration. He acknowledged my husband's birthday in a genuine, thoughtful way that made the night feel special without being overdone. His attention to detail and friendly, professional demeanor made us feel taken care of from beginning to end. If you're dining at The Silver Star Steak Company, ask for Evan--you won't be disappointed!

I bet this place would be great if you walk in with a Brione suit on and a hot chick on your arm…read more Unfortunately, I only had my adidas black sweat top and tennis shoes one and was not treated well. Other customers that perhaps were perceived as bigger paychecks were consistently served before me. At first I sat at the bar to make it easy for the servers. Unfortunately it was only me and I was abandoned after My drink came and no dinner menus came despite being asked and responding that yes, I need them. So, I took my drink and asked to be seated at a table. the table next to me had about 8 people seated after me, and again they were able to order drinks before my waitress came to me. So, looks matter in this restaurant - a lot! That is never a good sign. My waitress is probably in the wrong career as she was brusque and seemed put off at having to serve 1 person. Maybe she was cursed with being German as I am. The wedge salad I ordered was two small wedge pieces instead of the normal 1 large piece and was ok, but underwhelming in both the size and the amount of blue cheese which was a bit sparse. The 6 oz fillet seemed more like 4 and was ok - the baked potato noticeably smaller than most but loaded at least. The restaurant scene is Helena is pitiful, to be honest. Billings is the place in Montana to be for restaurants. Maybe Bozeman or Missoula but unfortunately, the capital is lacking. The martinis were decent but not as good as the windmill in billings.

TL;DR - great pizza, crazily affordable, amazing service…read more The pizza here is really good. A lot of pizza places are so-so to decent and get by because 'pizza is pizza, right?' Wrong. This is a joint I would be at weekly if I lived anywhere remotely close. The crust is just right--flavorful, thin, and has a chew. It's not a cracker and it's not bread. The cheese is good--good melt, good flavor, good browning. The sauce is really tasty (important!!). Toppings good, they know to ask whether you want greens (in my case arugula) on before or after-bake, they know what 'well done' means. [Quick aside, I don't know how people who make pizza for their job don't know what 'well done' means but seemingly 95% of people at pizza places don't. Thankfully Bullman's knows.] Do I wish I got the larger pizza? Yes. Do I wish I ordered two pizzas and took one to go regardless of the certain jokes I would've heard from my colleagues for years? Yes. Was the smaller pizza somehow still filling? Also, yes. My bill was $9, people. Nine. In this economy?! If you live in Helena and you aren't reading this review from inside the restaurant, or at home eating their pizza, you need to get your priorities in order.

My wife and our three young daughters tried Bullmans pizza for the first time since we have lived…read morein Montana. We heard good things about it, but we finally made it there last night. I was a bit surprised by the smallness of the table area, and when we arrived there around 7:30pm it was BUSY! We got the only table, and that was nice but it was LOUD. Loudest restaurant we've been in in a long time. The menu items sounded good, and We made our orders. We saw the pizzas delivered to our neighboring table, which was seemingly only inches from us, lol, and the crusts seemed unevenly cooked and burned, and we weren't sure. When the food arrived though, it tasted better than it looked. The crusts were SUPER thin though, I guess because it's cooked in an open fire oven, but it tasted good regardless of the way it appeared. The all meat pizza was a little disappointing with the amount of meat that was on it, and the herb bread appetizer was super thin too, so the entire meal just about was finished with hardly any leftovers. With tip, it was $100 to eat there, so it was pretty pricey and the value wasn't as high as I would hope. It's not bad though, and it's quite different than most of the other pizza places around. It's definitely worth a try because of it's uniqueness.
