appears that the Helena MT location is under new Management once again. My 9yr old grandson and I got there about 415pm last Saturday to beat the rush. There was maybe 4 tables occupies and one group of 8pr so college girls. We were greated quickly but very unenthusiastically. Went to the buffet, grabbed a couple quick items and a drink before we sat down. Hot bar was atocked good. Puzza selection was pretty nill and the salad bar was a mess. We grabbed the first table in on the right and proceeded to eat. As it always seems, our dispenser has no napkins, nor did the way across the way. So my grandson went a row over and swapped one out. I was 4ft from the soft served machine and watched 2 of the male employees sneak a quick cone in cover for the other. Watched another employee use a towel to wipe several tables down and never once use a sanitation bucket. Once he even uses his bare hands to wipe chunks onto the floor. the whole time hes got the towel draped over his left shoulder. Also witnessed a red headed female employee use not only her finger to wipe up drips in the salad dressing area and wipe it off on a napkin, she turned around and used that same napkin to finish wiping up that area instead of using the proper sanitation towel. Another employee was condensing pizzas together using his bare hands. No gloves. No spatula. Nothing. Then we get into the game area and the card machine is down. 5 machines arent working and its was getting busy with nobody around. Someone was constantly hitting the red help button. We came back again finally and had a GREAT experience. They were SO SWEET, namely Lesley the manager. We came in and explained that my wife cannot eat any dairy or meat, and so they didn't even charge us for her to have a small salad! Like they let her eat for free! That was really nice, and the food was really good this time too! Better than last time. The cheese sticks were just as good, and so was the fried chicken, and the pizza was hot and fresh. I absolutely loved the cinnamon desert pizza, and this time the ICE CREAM MACHINE WAS WORKING!!! Yay! It was my middle daughters birthday and when I told them that they volunteered to get the crew together to come sing her happy birthday. We brought our own cake in and they didn't mind. So after we ate and then played video games and got prizes, with the manager Leslie very patiently waiting for my girls to make their prize selections, I got the cake ready, and they all came out and sang for my daughter. First time eating here. This place is short staffed but we only had to wait 40 minutes to get a small pizza. Overall the salad bar was good & fresh. The all you can eat buffet had plenty of food to serve. Our grandkids loved the arcade but again short staffed. I will come back & try the 65 & over all u can eat buffet on Wednesdays. Unbelievable harassment because of my service animal. They obviously do not know my right to disabled person. I was harassed by the general manager, but by the manager and also an employee telling me I was not allowed to have my service Animal. It was their store policy, not my rights. Scared my grandchildren was forceful and aggressive with me after repeatedly asking them to leave me as they were causing my PTSD to kick in hard. This one of the new design Pizza Ranchs. It is much brighter and has a huge game room. Certainly looks like they want to give Chucky Cheese a run for their money. This place had maybe 3 employees circling through the whole time. Not enough to take orders and payment, serve pizza, bus tables, put out new dishes, and run the arcade. I felt bad for the poor employees they were literally running around the floor to help people get their pizza and pay as fast as possible. I tried 4 different types of pizza, all were one star. Lacked flavor. Tasted like 7th grade cafeteria lunch food. I think 4-6 games in the arcade were broken. And no one was in the arcade for the majority of the time. Also most of the games are 1-play and you're done. Lame. Its a pizza buffet so its like $11 a person i think for unlimited pizza, however its very not good. Would not recommend. read more

The second and third time there were a disappointment. Dirty tables, nowhere to sit. Had to bus our own table to sit down to eat. Many dirty tables and nobody cleaning them. Limited variety of food due to it not being replenished promptly. We tried a fourth time and probably final time. We left before paying and eating as the food tables were bare and once again many dirty tables that needed attention. We will not go back. The concept and food are decent if you are able to get it, and the price is good also. But, availability of food is a problem and the dirty tables are inexcusable. Not a place an adult without children would eat. The food isn't the highest quality nor is it the freshest. Plus you have 10,000 little kids running around having a good time. I have to say the chicken has to be some of the best in town. Pizza's are always great, with a wide selection. All the Staff is very friendly from the Cashier to the bus help. The kids bussing tables do a great job of clearing plates as you go, no one like to sit with a stack of plates. And of course the kids love to play in the game room. We waited 15 minutes to be seated even though the business was hardly full. You could tell they were understaffed as they had switched from a buffet to a cafeteria style. We went to the pizza station and had a small selection. My son asked if they had cheese pizza and the worker replied, "No. I mean if you really want cheese pizza I can have them make some." Was really looking forward to Pizza Ranch because when we left in the fall we knew how good it was and of course where we winter, there are no Pizza Ranch's. So usually the Pizza Ranch here in Helena, MT, is great but this time, and the last two times, I was let down. The chicken looked and tasted like it's been completely dehydrated from sitting under the warmer all day or more! This seems to be the case for most of the foods up there! The kids love this place that is all that matters. The buffet food is just that. It or miss on the time you go. The pizzas I have tried here have been really good. The fried chicken is pretty good. The atmosphere is great for kids of all ages. We haven't had any luck with the ordering the pizza that we wanted thing. It always ends up coming out after we are already full. It's horrible watching people plate their food here though. I have watched grown adults and children put their filthy paws on everything. I think that is the worst part about any buffet. read more

First off, i love me some Pizza Ranch! I've only ever visited one in Iowa, so I was surprised to see one on my visit to Helena, and even more pleasantly surprised with how great it was! The service was EXCELLENT, and when we ordered a special pizza that wasn't out in the buffet (my favorite: Chicken bacon ranch (pictured)) it was made quickly & served hot right to our table. We arrived 15 minutes before closing. But the fresh hot food kept pouring out of the kitchen! The salad bar was yummy. Lots of choices. I loved the spinach salad. My girls thought the pizza was "the best". The fried chicken was some of the best we've had. Hot veggies were a nice option. The dessert bar looked scrumptious. We have friends who strongly recommended this place for the quality chicken, so we tried it. The saving grace about this ranch is it was so busy, fresh food kept coming out of the kitchen. The chicken was tasty (I still prefer broasted), the pizza wasn't bad, the salad bar items were fresh, and my wallet was happy. You can order a whole pizza, and they bring it to your table... a nice option that avoids watching the kid in front of you paw a slice of pizza then change his mind and grab a different one. Buffets can be entertaining if you are not eating, but I'd rather avoid them. I just can't get past the downside. So if you're just going for buffet it is fine. Anything else is painful and expensive. The one time we ordered for delivery instead of the standard side salad, they gave us two massive salads and charged us for it. The front desk is poorly trained and can't handle any request other than buffet. They also do not know the menu items. We have eaten here several times and every time it's great. Always hot and fresh. If you don't see the pizza you like they will make it for you. The salad bar is diverse, however they don't have fresh blue cheese dressing. They also have coke products and a lively fun zone arcade for kids and adults.
