We were initially taken aback by the vast offering of Jellycat plush toys. The employee (owner?) who was in explained that they offer a wide selection of Jellycats, many of which are considered rare or very challenging to get ahold of. In addition to the plush toys, they also had a large variety of perfumes and perfume testers to sniff. I was really excited to see one of my favorite perfumes, Juliette Has a Gun, available in such variety. If my suitcase wasn't already jam packed heading out here, I would have totally purchased a bottle as a gift to myself. This was an adorable shop and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Unfortunately, my experience was extremely uncomfortable. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was being watched and profiled. I was followed closely around the store and repeatedly told not to touch items, which made it impossible to browse or shop normally. At one point the owner was standing right next to me and speaking in a way that felt more like being scolded than helped. They won't let you look around the shop without following you around and asking you not to touch anything. Oh also they have a million perfume testers which they get mad if you smell them. Literally you cannot smell open samples of perfumes or they scream at you not to touch them. The overall attitude was very hostile and unwelcoming, which was surprising in a neighborhood where most small business owners are warm and appreciative of customers. I left feeling really disappointed because I had intended to give them my business. After mentioning the experience to a few other locals, I learned that others had similar interactions there. I hope the owners reconsider how they treat customers because the environment felt unnecessarily negative and uncomfortable. Ps. Same lady in all the other review pictures ! You could spend hours in this store -- there's lots of vintage glassware, jewelry, home decor items and more to explore! The manager was friendly and helpful, and happy to answer our questions about the set in the window. As we took a closer look at it, he told us he'd give the person who was selling it here a call to see if she could do any better on the price. After taking a quick break to grab coffee next door and do some research, we found that the set was priced very competitively as compared to what we were finding online. We went back in, made a deal, and my friend went home with the most beautiful set of bar glasses complete with a gold holder to keep them all in place. 10/10, would visit again.

In particular, this shop has an amazing collection of glass wear. Tons of rare sets from France and England, many unique highball glass designs. The prices here aren't "cheap" but very fare for what they're offering (but much less expensive than shops like A Touch of the Past). I'll definitely be back and am already mourning the daisy highball glasses I didn't buy.

Once inside my first impression was Wow, where are all the chimes, figurines and other assorted dust catchers that are common in most other stores here. I was also surprised that you could walk around without worry of knocking over abundant displays of gaudy knick knacks. Instead you will see what in my uncouth opinion were very cool accent items. Not that I have any kind of decorating savvy, but the right person could pick out some decorations that would go well in modern or semi modern rooms. A place like this could even inspire a slob like me to redo a room or two in a way that hipster friends would be proud. I think my favorite items were the various vases and containers that held flowering bulbs or dried flowers. There were also some cool long glass things that little interesting votives(?)or figurines could go on. I guess that these could be changed out according to the season. As another.review correctly reported, you can get custom upholstery done here, and the couches on display were fluffy and tasteful too. While you are here browse the perimeters for clearance items. I actually almost bought a few things, but realized that I need to do so much more in my house before adding decorator touches. The very dapper looking gentleman (I presumed is the owner) was very attentive and hands on with his assistance on the product I was interested in. He answered all my questions and seemed really knowledgeable. Though quite a distance from home, it will be goodbye to the mall at Short Hills and hello to The Homestead at Princeton when it's time to redecorate. Pricing ranges from expensive to affordable. Just a few minor things. I personally did not feel like the cashier in the front of store was welcoming. Sure they helped someone who asked about their restroom, but I don't know that they ever greeted anyone who came in. I'm very sensitive to this when I'm shopping, because a warm greeting can mean a lot to unfamiliar tourists. I also felt like the clothes, to me, were on the expensive side. The price of $25 felt right for some shirts/blouses, but not for others, but it was a default price nonetheless. Replica band/concert tees were priced equally high, and some of them were beat up while not being vintage. Other items, I just felt like I could find at the thrift and get a better deal. I thrift a lot from many, many different venues, so I know this for sure. While I understand the beauty of a vintage store is that someone else did the shopping for you, the markup felt like a lot at times. I have sold clothing through Princeton Consignment a number of times. They are very picky with the…read moreitems they select, which I think is a good thing. They accept labels such as Banana Republic, Kenneth Cole and Anthropologie, on up to couture. The items should not be older than two years (which means this ISN'T the place to shop if you're looking for vintage), and it better not have any signs of wear. However, I have never purchased anything. Quite frankly, the clothes seem dated to me, which I don't understand because they say they don't want anything older than two years. But I saw some shoulder pads when I was in there today, as well as some very dated looking evening gowns. I didn't closely pick through the racks because I didn't see a single item that really caught my eye after a quick scan. My style of clothing doesn't match what they sell, but they always take my stuff, and it always sells. Can't complain about that!

There is so much to see at this Antique Center!…read more There are a TON of antique shops in Lambertville, and this is probably the best one. Three full floors, completely stocked with different stalls of curated, vintage and antique goods. From the outside, you'd never know how big the space is. Like any antiques store, I'm sure it can be hit or miss. They probably have new things arriving every day. Some of the stalls were very reasonably priced, while others were a bit expensive. They had a lot of affordable wall art and paintings which was fun to see. There is really something for everyone to see here. We spent about 1.5 hours, we could've spent more if we really took our time. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. It's also in a perfect location to browse other little shops and boutiques!
