I really enjoyed my treatment yesterday. The facial was great, and my aesthetician spent a lot of time on extractions which was great. My feet feel super soft from my pedicure! It was my first time getting a dry pedicure and I would come back for more as I feel it is way more effective at getting rid of calluses and making the feet truly soft (compared to the usual soak and scrub) I was initially drawn to this day spa but the decor and overall look of the place - modern, trendy, luxurious and clean. The perfect retreat for me. A couple of notes (and reasons why my rating was short a star) - I was charged $10 for shellac nail polish removal when I was told it would cost $5. $5 isn't a huge difference but it's important to stick with the price you quote the customer. Also $10 seems a little steep for removal as I could have easily done it at home - the mini manicure says it included light cuticle grooming but I don't think stylist touched my cuticles at all Overall a great experience ! read more

I don't think I can express in words how happy I am with my experiences at CURES. I didn't think it was possible for a shellac polish application to be FLAWLESS (this time was with Melissa). I've never seen such a perfect job on my nails. I visited on the fly once because every other place around the area was unavailable and I was really in need of something. I got taken in towards closing time and had such a good experience that I knew I had to go back. The place is chill and I had such great service and results. To me the price is comparable. My sister and I got shellac mani and dry pedicure with Gita and Binoda. They were extremely friendly and put a lot of attention to detail. They were very attune to making our experience as comfortable as possible. They followed a very careful covid protocol, screening our temperature before entering the salon, ensuring we washed our hands prior to the mani, they used prepackaged equipment and made sure to sanitize all the other equipment in between. My sister added on a nail art design and they exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend Gita and Binoda! read more

I was asked to provide my credit card number, expiration date and the code at the back via e-mail as I was working and wasn't able to answer the phone when they called to confirm my appt and to take down my credit card information. I didn't as I wasn't sure how secure their e-mail server is and was shocked I was asked to do so via e-mail. I called and have given her my credit card info however when I arrived at my appt I found out that they don't take AMEX. I am happy I had other cards on me but if I didn't, it would have been a pain to not be able to pay as I wasn't told AMEX was not accepted there. The girl who did my nails was fantastic. She is friendly, she paid attention to detail and attentive to what she does. I didn't like the product that was used. I also don't like they advertise they use CND Shellac when that service isn't available there. I would have gotten that as opposed to the Gel they have. It didn't last 2 weeks. It had to be applied more than 5 times and even then, after I left, I wasn't happy with it. I had to fix some nails as the nail technician didn't see how bad some corners of my nails were. Came here Friday evening. Asked for a full set of bio gels and shellac. What I got was a full set of dip acrylics (the technician assured me multiple times that this was a new bio gel system). Less than 12 hours after my service 2 nails had already chipped. I called them and they got me in with a different girl to fix the nails. She was the one that confirmed to me that my nails weren't bio gels. She fixed my nails and I was on my way. Now less than 24 hours after my second visit another nail has chipped. A lot. First off, the price of a pedicure is double what you'd pay at a cheap salon, so if you're really wanting a budget pedicure, this is not it. But here's why I think it's worth it. Backstory: I've been a little bit antsy about going for pedicures after an inattentive staff member at a budget place sliced the bottom of my foot with a razor blade, then had no idea what to do with my biohazard blood dripping everywhere into the foot bath. Cures might be more expensive, but there's no chance of them flaying you alive. To exfoliate dead skin they use a gentle electric foot sander while your feet are dry to ensure they can see that they're only taking off dry skin. The staff all wear charcoal filtered face masks to protect against inhaling your skin dust, the foot baths are not the hard to clean jacuzzi type that harbour bacteria, and they use natural polish. I was skeptical, but my feet are waaaay smoother than a regular pedicure where they use a blade or sanding by hand. As well, this was no quick and dirty pedicure. It took probably about an hour and 15 minutes, the polish is done perfectly. Staff are great and the facilities are immaculate. Overall, I think that the price probably reflects the true cost of having another person working on your feet. read more

I was in the area for work, and was looking for a clean, hygienic place to get a pedicure. I was intrigued by the idea of a dry pedicure, and having a gel polish applied since I haven't done that before. I can tell you hands down that this was the best pedicure I have ever had! You do end up soaking your feet, but after the callous removal has happened. I have never been able to tolerate callous removal because it was too ticklish, but with the dry pedicure I had no problem with it. My feet have never been softer. The gel pedicure is super shiny, and I love the idea that it will look fresh for a few weeks, given that I am traveling and I don't want to look at chipped or dull toe polish. The cost for the gel pedicure here is more than the average, but you are getting so much more for it than what people refer to as "chop shop" mani/pedi salons. I will definitely be back again, and I will try the facials. The products are of high quality, and the staff are serious about skincare. read more

I have never found a nail salon/spa that I loved enough to return to, but I finally have with Cures. I originally booked a shellac manicure, but ended up opting a bio gel sculpture manicure (with the addition of gel polish) instead because my nails were so weak from another salon, followed by a Brazilian wax. Adeira did the bio sculpture gel manicure and was detailed and fun to talk to. The manicure lasted longer than any manicure I have ever had; I only removed it because my nails had grown so much, didn't live in Toronto, and didn't trust another salon to fill them. The wax was also fantastic - especially considering I was "in between" monthly appointments. Ami, the director of operations, emailed me to follow up on my services and see how I enjoyed my time at Cures Studio. She also came out of the studio to talk to me while I was walking by the day after my appointment to make sure I was happy with everything - she even remembered my name. The decor, the services, the customer service - everything is amazing. This is my new go-to spa. read more

This was an elevated pedicure experience and a perfect rainy day treat. From the moment I walked in I was asked if I wanted a coffee or a tea. I was asked multiple times after as well. Cures specialize in dry pedi's. The conventional shaping and cuticle grooming takes place, but they take special care of your tootsies and any callus' or heal issues you may have. The hot towel part is amazing. A hot towel on your feet! Then of course came oil treatment and a foot massage. My feet have never felt more amazing or well cared for. The studio is bright and airy with high ceilings and luxe finishes. As a parting gift I left with some sweet travel size Aveeno and TRESemme products. The pedicure I had here a few weeks ago was by far the worst I've ever had. It chipped literally the next day which has never happened before, even when I do my own nails. The technician was upselling throughout my entire service ($5 extra for a leg massage, $5 extra for leg exfoliation etc.) which, to me, is ridiculous because these services are usually included with a pedicure at many places I've been to before. She also went way to hard to my nails with the dremel. Now that I've taken the polish off, there is visible damage to the nails on my big toes which I'm not happy about. Cures Studio is a hidden GEM! They are quite new in Liberty Village, and the service received was amazing. I had a 'dry' pedicure and my feet have seriously never been so soft. Dry pedicures are simply just that. Dry. There us no dunking your feet in water and no pre-soaking. This allows to get the removal of all your calluses and dry skin without the water absorbing into the skin prior. aka: AMAZING. This place is VERY clean and esthetically pleasing. They really care about the service they provide and it really shows in the quality of their services. This isn't some 'quick service' beauty bar. My pedicure lasted over an hour. This is a 6 star nail salon. I was looking for a salon that specialized in nail repair and care. After looking up 15+ salons this was the only one. I booked my services and when I got there, the Cures tech said it would be better to do an alternate option. It meant less of a sale for them but they recommended what was best for me. That's true customer care. No one tried to upsell me. Then the actual extensions were done and I was so impressed with how thorough and knowledgeable my Cures tech was. So much so I don't want to share her name and keep her to myself so she won't get crazy over booked. I'll just say her name started with A and leave it at that. She looked at my lip colour and found an amazing match and the entire application was crazy gorgeous. I've never had so many compliments on my nails. I used to go to the local chop shop but honestly it was worth the price. I was concerned about the expense but I now know the value. The staff is really well trained and take pride in their work. I usually chip my nails within moments of leaving a salon but not with Cures. And Miss A was so great at walking me through the process. They don't rush to fill some sort of quota for the day and cheap out on your experience. It is much more like going to get your hair done. Relaxing and you leave feeling like you had an amazing experience. I really was skeptical about paying more than the local chop shop for my nails but now I'm a totally loyal convert to Cures. Great pedicure- their machine that takes off calluses is magical. The nail job was exacting and perfectly done. I wasn't offered water or magazines when I sat down though, which was unfortunate considering how much it cost ($141 including a small tip for a mani-pedi shellac service). I was disappointed that I was charged for nail art when they couldn't produce what I had in the photo and only told me after the fact that it wasn't possible. My manicure would have been well done but I bleed profusely on one nail along with that mishap. Good but not good enough for the extraordinary price. Summary: Service was a gel refill and one repair scheduled online in advance; Incredibly expensive for the job performed, owner performed the manicure but was distracted and rushed and quite misleading about service costs. Nails are full of bubbles. If you visit, clarify costs with your tech throughout your visit. After months of hearing great things about this salon I finally got a chance to try it out. While I understand that they do take extra steps that some salons may not (ex. Primer and gel builder on a gel mani), their online prices are very misleading. I went in for a basic gel refill and repair to one nail, something that usually costs between $30-50 for a good job at other salons, and based on the Cures menu should only cost $30 (Gel removal and reapplication) plus a repair (a price that isn't listed but is usually about $3-7 elsewhere). During my appointment Ami (the owner and manicurist) commented on the quality of my extensions and ended up breaking another nail while removing my previous gel and buffing. She was also incredibly distracted dealing with scheduling, her staff and a new trainee, she got up and left my nails to do other things a few times and after a while I started to feel very rushed, even asking if she wanted me to come back for the colour later. I do understand she's the owner and I so respect the atmosphere and enormity of her accomplishment. However I was charged over $100 for a gel refill and charged two nail repairs at $10 each. Most of my nails also have very visible bubbles, something I have never experienced before. This is a place you go back to. I've been the type of person who never sticks to the same salon, nails, spas etc just because Its hard to find a brand that delivers quality and consistency. Ami provided a luxurious service with double gel nails (so that it wouldn't break easily), and dry pedicure with made my foot feeling so buttery. I'm not good at keeping my feet soft and other places only last 2 days so you keep wasting money but at Cures studio, every time I go I leave more then satisfied. read more

The service and atmosphere here is top notch - employees are extremely friendly and the set up here is amazing. Technicians are also very attentive with our nails (almost too much - it took 3 hours for my friend and I to just get a bio gel touch up...). Your feet are so soft after! They take their time and my nails and feet look gorgeous.It's a dry pedicure process (yes, you still get a soak after etc) but the machine they use to get off dead skin is the best. While this salon was certainly beautiful, I am disappointed in the services for many reasons. The pedicure, while extremely pricey (compared to where I live in San Francisco), was nice. The woman doing my pedicure offered me an upsell, saying it would be best to just do the buffing option where they use a machine to buff off all of your calluses. While this sounded good and I agreed for another $25, my feet were immediately sensitive. After the pedicure, I was in so much pain on my heels and where she buffed I couldn't even stand. This went on for 36 hours. I have never had a pedicure where I was in PAIN after. The front desk told me to take it easy and not walk but I had to take a travel back to the US the next day so sitting was not an option. It's about 10 days later and while most of the pain has subsided, I still get sore on my feet where the buffing occurred when I walk long periods. That is really not ok with me after a pedicure to have pain for any amount of time and certainly not with some lasting repercussions and sensitivities. From reading about this procedure, I believe it occurred because too much callus was removed, which provides sort of a natural cushion for your foot and removing too much of it takes this away. I called the salon worried about the amount of pain I was in from this buffing machine they used - I had never seen one. Yes, my feet were super smooth, but almost TOO smooth, it felt like baby's feet. Great, but then I learned that podiatrists recommend NOT taking off all calluses because this is actually detrimental to feet. Some calluses that form over time become your body's cushion when walking. Since they had taken off all my calluses, literally every piece of dead cell that had ever been on my foot, I was in horrible pain that night. I have a high tolerance for pain. When I asked the manager (who called me to check in) about it, she said yes she had some other clients who were sensitive to this treatment. I asked her why I wasn't given a warning. If I was to pay $90 for a pedicure and be in this much pain in my feet where i could not stand at the grocery store right after, I want to have some warning. She told me to send pics of my feet in, and she would call me back the next day to see how much the nail therapist had buffed off. She never called. It's been 11 days. I emailed again. I called today, still no call back. I expected to at least be refunded for part if not all of the service. To be upsold on a treatment that I never even requested and then be in horrible pain and then NEVER receive an email or call back from management - that is simply sign of poor service. It's unfortunate as this salon was beautiful, though overpriced, but I would have happily paid if I was getting a service that was superior and did not leave me in pain. The woman doing my pedicure was very knowledgeable about skin but using these machines seems very dangerous to me, especially without warning. The rest of the staff was friendly. So I feel bad leaving a bad review, but the manager/owner who doesn't call after an episode like this, in my opinion, should not run a salon. Also I walked in and the place had horrible ventilation - I asked before my appt if they had a strong chemical smell. The chemicals in the front of the salon from the nails was awful, but the kind front staff opened up front and back doors. I am extremely disappointed in management to not even call or email me back regarding this, and to give me no warning of possible pain/sensitivity after what is supposed to be a relaxing treatment. read more

Visited CURES Studio last night for a callus foot treatment (called Maintenance Pedicure w. heel treatment on their services menu) and it was absolutely amazing. I can honestly say that my feet have never been this soft and smooth, EVER! I was blown away. Ami took the time to explain to me the benefits of a "dry pedicure" with the use of an buffing device which was great to learn about and Isa who conducted the treatment was excellent and took her time. Excellent customer service! I was the last one at the salon but didn't feel that they were rushing to finish quickly. They pay full attention to details including sanitary measurements. I did a much needed pedicure and the dry technique is fantastic, also they have proper tools and the right personal to handle with care and was absolutely pain-free. My shellac nails were $60 with tip which I felt was extremely overpriced for the service; my manicurist was distracted, nicked me at least 5 times while trying to trim my cuticles (they still sting), and in general seemed to be very distracted (she had someone else perform my exfoliation and hand massage). DO NOT GET YOUR EYEBROWS DONE THERE!!!! I went to get my eyebrows done with Shroni, who the receptionist claimed was amazing and I shouldn't worry about anything. Next thing I know she scraped half of my eyebrows in the MIDDLE OF MY BROW!!! I don't even know how it's possible to ruin someone's eyebrows that way unless it's a child doing it with closed eyes. She refused to show me my eyebrows after she was done and kept saying "don't worry trust me" until she was able to fill them in. Then she grabbed the mirror and showed me. She did a pretty good job to cover her mistake! I go home and wash off my face and then realize how she scraped them off! So I furiously go back to them and she claims that she didn't do that and calls me a liar! She didn't even own up to her own mistake which I found very shady and horrible customer service. I would never recommend this place for eyebrows to anyone!!!! And def not with Shroni who calls you a liar and is so sneaky! I was shocked by the service never had this happen to me! read more
