I've been coming for haircuts for years (at least five or six) since they opened and when were charging $6 for a mens walk-in haircut. I've also brought my family members to patronize their salon. I'm a good paying, good tipping customer. however, recently, jouliana refuses to cut my hair. Within the last two weeks i've been trying to walk-in for haircut multiple times. each time i was told by her that they she had 'appointments'. i look up her schedule in booksy (their google online scheduling system) each time before arriving but don't use it because they upcharge for appointments for some reason. I choose not to make an appointment because it's $10 more expensive. This is a weird system IMO. I was basically being told to get lost. But i kept trying to be polite and work within their weird system and came back another day. Today I came in at 1:30p, knowing that jouliana's schedule was open in the afternoon. She was just finishing with her client and said she cannot cut my hair again, to no surprise, because 'I have appointment'. She then immediately rushed off to the back room after completing payment. very rude!! If she won't cut my hair unless I have an appointment then please just say so. No one deserves to be treated this way much less a long time repeat client. i felt completely disrespected! it's the holidays for goodness sake! Someone else cut my hair today which was not good (quickly and poorly done). While i was there no person came for Jouliana's supposed 'appointment'. I looked on booky and her schedule was completely open for the entire afternoon (eg 1:45, 2:15, 2:45, etc..). i cannot post pics retroactively for today, but see the screenshots of her schedule tomorrow Fri 12/30 which is probably a lot busier than a thursday at 1p. It's again completely open as i'm writing this at 5:30p 12/29 I'm pretty sure plenty of other salons in the area are more friendly and more willing to cut hair on a walk-in basis. Additionally, before writing this review, i called the salon and spoke with jouliana about these unpleasant experiences. she was very combative/defensive - never once offering apology. A diamond in the rough is how I can best describe this salon. I found this salon because I bought a deal online for waxing. I was not so impressed when I walked in. The salon is laid out oddly but it had all the basics and the equipment seems new. T he room was set up well for waxing. No frills but it had what was required. The esthetician added eyebrow threading even though I didn't ask for it. It was only $6 so not a big deal and it looks good. My husband actually got his hair cut too while he was waiting for me and it was only $6! Basically this is a good salon that is cheap, but don't expect extra pampering or fluff stuff like lemon/cucumber water and bathrobes. read more

I go by this corner sometimes and noticed the new hair salon so I thought I would give it a try given the new equipment and the low prices advertised on its windows. The haircut I received was fine and I have no complaints about that so why the two stars? First, the price on the window was misleading. There was extra for every little thing (including hairdrying, which I have never heard of before ). So just be prepared. The price was still very reasonable so it's not a reason not to visit, I just don't like being misled. Second, and this is what I consider a very important issue: some of the staff is incredibly loud. I don't want to have to sit there for half an hour listening to someone shouting into a phone for all that time. It is unprofessional and very unpleasant. On occasion, this person would leave, but later I figured out that she simply locks herself in the restroom and camps out there talking on the phone.That is not a courteous use of the facilities nor does it reduce the noise concerns. I had high hopes for this place, the location would make it very convenient to go there for services regularly (in fact, I was looking forward to getting a pedicure done there as well), but I will not visit again until the staff shows more professional and courteous behavior. read more

Unlike other place who make you wait for hours and then do you a favor by cutting your hair this was a nice courteous place. Got a haircut at this location from Erica. I asked for half an inch off. She cut off 2 inches. She kept telling me what a cute cut she gave me and how I could come back for 24.00 style. She just did what she thought I should have, not what I asked for. The cut is 1 inch longer on the right side, but there is no way I will let her cut off even more hair to even it out. I leave for a cruise in one week with no hair. I had to buy hats to cover it up. It will take 6 months for this to grow back and I am glad I have until next June for my daughter's wedding. i hated this place. They did a poor job as painting my nails, used a bad product, and treated me me like shit. I didnt have much time so I had only done my hands and had scheduled my feet for the next day. Next day they "forgot" about my appointment, I stupidly had paid for hands and foot the day before, and the owner did a horrible face when I said I wouldnt leave the place until I had my nails done. By far the worst "manicure" I have yet received. I'm not very talented at doing my own nails, and got excited that a new salon opened up next to my house. Everything looked new, and as stated before, the prices looked reasonable. I came in for a manicure (costs $15). I don't think the woman knew what she was doing, or she just was not paying attention. She'd put lotion on one hand, but then forget the other. File all the fingers,but forget a pinky. She also did not pay attention to the cuticles, and just painted over them. The variety of nail polishes is mediocre, and you have to walk around the whole salon to find one you like (they're at different stations throughout the place). She was very hurried, and messy. I had to clean off the nail polish around my nail when I got home. After I was done with the service, I got up to pay. As I get to the register and take out my credit card, the owner tells me the internet is down and that I can't pay with a credit card. I said all I have is a credit card and $7 in cash. She literally told me to go to the currency exchange (2 blocks away), and use their ATM to get the rest of the money. I said that I'm not going to walk in 30* weather to pay for a service that I did not like in the first place. She then asks if I have a check. I say no, all I have is my credit card and $7 cash. She said, "I guess I will give you discount since you did not like service". Treated it as if it were my fault that I did not have the money in cash, when she should have warned me that the internet was out when I got there. Seven dollars, and I still overpaid for this poor service. Overall, I should have just done it myself at home for free, and gotten the same results. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. read more

I went during my lunch break. They let me just relax and read while I was getting my toes done and then made polite conversation while I was getting my nails done. They didn't have a large selection of nail polish but enough to make a choice. They did have some shifty costumers come in and try to haggle the prices, which to me is rude and awful. Not worth your time or money! My sister decided to try it out and give it the benefit of the doubt but regretted it later. Luckily we purchased the groupon so hopefully we will get a refund for that ( you have to love the groupon promise) My sister and I made an appointment and showed up just a little early. There was only one lady there who explained that there should be someone else coming but she didn't know where she went (I waited 20 min for her to show up, unprofessional) We were disappointed in the very few choices of nail polish but oh well we found colors that we were okay with. THEY GET PAINT ALL OVER YOUR SKIN! I put this in caps because we read that review and ignored it. My sister and I are the type of people who will let them know if they need to fix something so we thought it wouldn't be a problem. Boy were we wrong! They spent more time removing polish than they did painting and still could never get it all off. finally we decided it was pointless even pointing out where they messed up. Also they didn't completely remove my previous nail polish and I could see that through my new nail polish. The lotion was clumpy and gross, she made my cuticles worse than they were( i get my nails done often so they were just fine but she made them all jagged) She filed each nail different and REALLY short when I asked her not to! the worst and most stressful experience i have ever had in my whole life! please don't go there! i bought a groupon for this salon, and made an appointment for mani/pedi. my appointment was at 2:30. there was only one lady there. i waited until 3 pm to be seated in the chair. the person who took me was tina. she cut my nails like it was her first time doing it. it was all crooked and done in an unwilling fashion. when she painted my toe nails she also painted all over my flip flops and my toes! then it took her 30 minutes to remove the polish from unwanted places, and on top of it all, i had to point to every single spot where she had to remove it. she argued with me the whole time about how short i wanted my nails done and did a terrible job. then she gave me a manicure, and again painted all over my fingers. at the end of it all, i finally got fed up and asked her to completely remove the polish off my hands, and walked out of there. this experience was supposed to be relaxing. instead, i spent 2 hours and 30 minutes there and walked out almost in tears! please, please, please, do not get a groupon for this place and don't spend your money there! read more
