I've used this company's mail-in foreign currency exchange service twice now, I was very cautious…read moreabout it because, of course, when you put cash in the mail there's no proof of what you sent, but I can confidently say this is a legitimate service and it's very useful for certain situations. I got foreign currency from my bank recently for a trip, as banks tend to give you the best rate, but when I got back they wouldn't re-exchange the currency I had leftover because it was less than $100 usd. I found this service online but was suspicious, so first I sent just some coins from several previous trips totaling about $10. I figured it was no great loss if I never got my payment. I got that money sent to my paypal within a few days, so I decided to send in my bills as well. I received payment to my paypal for the bills as well, about 4 days after I mailed them in. Bear in mind that this company isn't necessarily going to give you the most competitive exchange rate, but the exchange kiosks at the airport don't either. Even banks don't give you the true "market rate," and unlike banks, this company accepts small amounts, various currencies at once, and even coins, so it's really useful if you have leftover currency lying around like I did. Bear in mind also that if you request paypal as your payment method, paypal charges a small fee, so my total received was slightly less than the quoted exchange in both cases, but that's PayPal's fault. All of that said, I'd strongly recommend mailing your money with tracking, not just in an envelope with a stamp. It costs a few dollars but it'll allow you to be sure your package arrives.

I sent misc. coins to Foreign Currency and Coin and just like others the package came back as empty…read more- this place is a scam dont use it Now, I am working with the post office on the claim and using the insurance to cover the lost coins etc

You will certainly pay to sale your currency back, but at least you re-coop some of your money. On a recent trip to Mexico we bought pesos at the rate of $12.95 pesos to the USD and ended up bringing back a few pesos. After going to my bank Wells Fargo I referred to Altour; which was luckily located next door to my office so it is very nice to just have to walk over this morning and sale the pesos. After an $8 service charge and their exchange rate of $1 USD to $14.86 pesos I only took a loss of $23.21 USD. Not bad considering it will probably be a while before I return to Mexico, so I got a little bit of my money back. Also, I should mention if you are selling your currency back to Altour AMEX is that they do not buy coins; only bills. I've now got $36 pesos in coins as souvenirs to remind me of my trip to Mexico.

It's inside the Lenox Place bldg. Just park upfront and its right there in front. I called about their rates before going there but the next day the Euro had gone up...oh well. I didn't have much of a choice. A guy was in line before me and walked out because he said the Euro was lower when he called the day before....ummm dude...it's going to be the same everywhere. Anyhoo, the lady that helped me was nice and gently explained the fees since I didn't know shit about changing money. Next time I will make sure to change my money at Bofa or any bank 4 days before my trip and if not, American Express on Peachtree Rd will be my go to place for foreign currency exchange! :D

This Wells Fargo in Virginia Highland is on the cozy side, not very roomy at all. There always seems to be some sort of wait for a teller whenever I go. The last time I was there, my name was misspelled on an envelope which I wasn't thrilled about. This branch is one of a select few in the city that does foreign currency exchange which is handy if you want some cash at the ready for an upcoming jaunt abroad. All the employees are welcoming and genuinely seem like pleasant people. This Wells Fargo is open Saturdays, and I do appreciate how this branch has parking which can be tough to come by in the neighborhood. And there are some tasty restaurants mere steps away.
