I clicked on the Allergy tab for onions, however when it arrived my Chicken Tikka was COVERED with them!! it said 3 times on the receipt NO Onions /Allergy. This was completely ignored ! Despite scraping them all off and smothering a piece in Raita, my tongue is still tingling and swollen. (3)The Naan Bread was so dry, thin and over cooked it was the consistency of a burnt cracker. I tried soaking it in some water between paper towels and microwaving it, but it was so thin in many places it snapped. I'm used to Naan being thick and soft with some blackened edges. I like to put my chicken inside with Raita and eat it like a pita wrap. Not with this stuff ! (4)Nowhere on the website or Uber app does it say that the Butter Chicken comes with rice. So I order a side of rice for my husband. 3 containers of rice show up. Had I known it was already included (most places will tell you ) I would have saved the 6$. He didn't need 3 containers. (6)The free dish included when you spend 40$ was Papri Chaat . It was something I never heard of, but sounded good. I'm Sure it would have been if the wafers (Papri) wasn't It was completely soggy. (7) I also told them no Chutney as it would go to waste. They sent 3 containers .... The Good- It was quick from order to delivery. The Raita was delicious. Butter Chicken was enjoyed by my Husband. The flavour of the Chicken Tikka once all the onions were scraped off. Had they substituted cabbage for the onions it would've been really good. Thankfully Uber refunded me the 20$ for the Chicken. But the $6.99 lunch ticket was too tempting and since I needed to buy my lunch today anyway, I stepped inside. When I first walked through the door I noticed the sign that stated, "Under New Management" and the first thought that crossed my mind was that I wouldn't be able to experience the warm hospitality of the people who operated it before now. I had heard good things about the food at this restaurant. What was I to expect? Then it dawned on me! I am likely the first Yelper to write about this place! New management = new restaurant. Right? I had looked through the windows of the restaurant as I walked by and was never quite sure about the decor, but when I walked through the door for the first time my first impression was country western saloon meets boathouse on the lake. Ya! It really is like that... I was greeted by a broadly smiling man in a turban. He informed me that their lunch special was over at 2:30 but that he would still honour the special. Cool! The smells coming from the bag bombarded my senses with the menagerie of spices that makes up Indian cooking. Unfortunately, when I sat down at my desk the reality of doing a "working lunch" hit home as I was called away from my desk. By the time I got back to my lunch the bread had probably sat too long in the foil wrapper and the chickpeas were probably below optimum serving temperature, but nevertheless, the soupy sauce surrounding my chickpeas was popping with flavour and after sampling a spoonful of the nearly perfect rice, I deposited the contents of my rice container into my chickpea container. Now I had the perfect filling to spoon into the torn-off pieces of Nann bread. I wasn't interrupted for the rest of my lunch and I can honestly say I enjoyed each bite. At the time I ordered I was asked how spicy I wanted my dish and I said "hot". They could have been a bit heavier-handed with the heat, but I really can't complain. The meal was delicious and after finishing everything, I felt quite content. I probably could have saved some and still been satisfied. The new owners seemed friendly enough, but for those of you who are accustomed to the former chef's quality, you will be sadly disappointed. I ordered butter chicken and lamb rogan josh to go. Both curries were watery with no substance, similar to fast food curry. Not the rich, complex, decadent curries of the past. The papadams were plain, and the naan paper thin. Sure, it's cheaper now, but I guess you get what you pay for. Also, bring cash as they are not set up for credit cards.
