I wanted to stay inside (mosquitos are always an issue in the evening), so they have a really nice tap room area as well as their dining area. You might start with their award-winning American Brown Ale. I was very pleased with how well made this ale was, with real depth and richness without any cloying sweetness. I followed it up with a Pomegranate Odyssey, a wild fermented sour ale. If you like sour ales, as I do, you should like this, although I've had more strikingly sour ones. This, however, nicely balances just a slight sweetness of pomegranate with the sour ferment. Their veggie burger is very good, although it's not made in-house. Still, it's a quality burger. Perhaps it's changed since my visit, but the veggie burger was served only on a gluten-free roll. Like somehow they'd cover the vegetarians and the gluten-free crowd in one dish, like feeding two birds with one crumb. But I'd prefer a regular, wheat-based roll. Fries were excellent, too. But what really made them stand out was the excellent service and friendly staff. I was alone, and the manager and bar tend both chatted with me, but without being intrusive. Really great people I was happy to get to know a little bit, and they were quite willing share info with me about the menu and brews, as this was my first visit. One bite told me I'd made the correct choice and the price was worth it. The Gouda cheese had such great flavor and it was in the perfect state of warm but not melt-coated into the burger.
