I was a luxury wedding planner in Los Angeles for the past 9 years and when we decided to get married in upstate NY I was a little worried about finding a farm to table caterer that would meet my expectations, until we stumbled upon Little Yard Farm! I'm not sure we could ever say enough great things about Laura and her incredible food. From the start of our communication I just knew she understood what we wanted to create for our wedding meal. We decided on an eight course menu that would span almost three hours for 18 guests, giving Laura and her incredible team time the time to plate and serve the most delicious wedding menu I have ever experienced! Laura catered our wedding in August 2023 in Marcellus, NY. She did an absolutely incredible job. On the menu we had Moroccan chicken, pesto pasta with roast baby potatoes and green beans, a veggie carving station with assorted pickled and roast veggies and dips, Mexican street corn salad, minted quinoa tabbouleh, utica greens, asian sesame cucumber skewers, and whipped ricotta with beets. Everything was delicious. We loved being able to have food at our wedding that was unique, something different and more exciting than standard wedding fare. Laura is so talented and creative, and creates such interesting and flavorful dishes. It was also great to be able to have a mostly vegetarian menu. My personal favorites were the veggie carving station (the whipped feta dip was one of the best things I have ever tasted), the mexican street corn, and the tabbouleh. So many of our guests commented on how wonderful the food was. Laura is also warm, flexible, and easy to work with. She helped us figure out our menu and made helpful recommendations for the food and beyond. We got married up in the woods and she made it all work with limited kitchen access. Another highlight for us was having the leftovers the next day, when we could really relax and enjoy it -- and feed family in town and folks who stuck around to help with clean up etc. I would highly recommend hiring Little Yard Farm for a wedding or any other kind of event! Where to start....Laura and Michelle were an absolute dream team for a very special bachelorette party dinner. They came to our Airbnb and went straight to work putting together the perfect snacks while we enjoyed wine and the beautiful weather. When we came back to the dining room we were all blown away at the incredible attention to detail they put into the table decor and overall experience. The meal was absolutely delicious on top of it all. As a person who doesn't really like polenta, I had every intention of pushing it to the side and just enjoying my chicken; but I could not get enough! Each plate was garnished with a different herb that just brightened the whole flavor. It was such a special evening for everyone and having these talented ladies there made us all feel so cared for. When I first started planning our event, I contacted Laura with some basic ideas and questions. She was very flexible as we changed the number of people, dietary restrictions and buffet vs plated. Laura delivered a meal for our bachelorette weekend at Keuka Lake and we were blown away by the quality of the food. To start, I had multiple conversations with Laura to relay the varying dietary restrictions of our group of 13 ladies. She was up for the challenge and provided me options for a menu that would accommodate every single person (gluten free, pescetarian, low fod map). It is so rare to have a meal for that many people that pleases everyone, and yet she accomplished it. Laura's husband dropped off the meal right on time, with instructions on how to heat up the entrees which was quite easy. We enjoyed a few appetizers (multiple people said it was "the best eggplant dip they had ever had"), then sat down for a beautiful meal with an amazingly fresh salad and delicious entrees.
