It has every Muay Thai tool available from long bags, short bags, speed bags, tires and much much more. The real kicker is the awesome ring. It really gives me a feel for what it would be like to prep for a promotion or an event. If you show up with any experience, confidence, or heaven forbid are good looking, in shape, and not religious, then you will be hated like you're a Globo Gym member. Not only will they hate you, they will begin to spread lies and rumors about you and give you dirty glances. We witnessed them allow a member to continuously cause trouble, disobey the rules of the mat, and disrespect other members of the gym and the instructors and manager never did anything until after 9 months of not paying his dues they finally kicked him out. This guy was over 6' tall, 270 pounds, tattoos on his face... he was intimidating. He was also a very poor sport, no sportsmanship and no regard for etiquette. He threw tantrums when he didn't get submissions in jiu jitsu, he was always challenging the upper ranked belts to prove himself, he tried to start physical altercations with professional fighters at fight night, he tried to start fights with my husband threatening him through text, and they even allowed this member's young son to accost little girls in jiu jitsu, making creepy comments to them, and bullying other members of all ages, much like his father. There is a heavy Christian influence pervading the place, which seems to encourage the negative behavior. They forgive the bully over and over which punishes the victims. That member was just one example of the culture at large. Be aware of the groups of women who are there every day who act like they own the place and bully around doing what they want without consequences, acting like their membership doesn't cost the same as yours. If you want to go back to high school but pay for it, then this is your spot.

There's 8 heavy bags of different sizes and shapes to perform an array of punch and/or kicks on. 2 stations that time you on how many front kicks and punches you can do within a minute. And a tire flip station and a sled push station, then there's a rest minute in between stations that you will perform another exercise such as battle ropes, burpees, crunches, TRX band, deadlifts, box jumps etc...for 30 seconds and then rest for the remainder 30 seconds. Every week the workouts change so it's not boring at all! I have been going 6 days a week for the past 5 weeks! I can't get enough and the strength, stamina and weight loss I'm feeling is amazing! I have a 5 month old babygirl that I tend to so being able to get a hardcore workout in 30 minutes plus being able to take her with me to class is priceless!! Katie, in particular, genuinely enjoys working here and did everything in her power to ensure my party had the best stay. I would give 1.5- 2 stars for the lack of a code of conduct or the enforcement thereof. There were so many couples who struggled with keeping their "physical passion for one another" to themselves. Many different couples were spanking each other LOUDLY in various areas of the resort. There were some couples who were getting a little too comfortable with one another in different soaking tubs, some who were getting "handsy" at the clay cove, and some who were just doing questionable behavior regardless where they were. I am a young adult and I've been around couples who have had public passion for each other- like making out at amusement parks- you know, the usual. BUT this behavior was on another level; this was out of the bounds of public decency. On the note of public decency, there were a few guests whose swimwear exposed more than it covered (if you're picking up what I'm throwing down). There was, also, one man in particular who was smoking/ taking a fat rip of his vape in front of CHILDREN. All that being said, I could NOT, in good conscience, recommend this place to anyone accompanied by very young humans as a child-friendly/ family- friendly resort. Aside from those concerns, everything else met my standards. Hotel room (Stone Lodge) was clean. Towels were stocked at the pools. The temperatures were good. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. I would not return as a day pass user (since my party and I are not locals), BUT we would come back as hotel guests.

This was my first time driving a jet ski and had no trouble getting the hang of it. SO much fun. The lake was empty before noon on a Monday but got a bit busier and choppier around 1. There is a cute little shop attached to the sanctuary, where you can buy their handmade truffle chocolates which are so delicious (coming from someone who isn't a fan of truffle chocolates), fresh farm eggs, honey, and other delicacies. With your zoo "ticket" you get 2 free samples of their chocolates and a hefty bag of feed for the animals. The animals are mostly in their own pens, with some together. There's even a couple of the pigs you'll find out of pens, just hanging out on the property, laying beside the building. You're able to go into the tortoise pen and feed/pet him as well, 2 people at a time inside the pen, as he does get anxious. You're not able to feed all of the animals, but for the most part you can. Each pen has a sign for which animals are ok to feed/pet and which are not. They are very calm and friendly, as long as you are too. They take the feed very gently and don't bite your fingers. On the weekends they offer pizza made fresh for the visitors, and have plenty of covered outdoor seating options to enjoy. They also offer wine tasting, but we did not partake, as we had just left a winery, but I'm sure it is quite enjoyable as well. This dojo is about so much more than just karate. It builds confidence, discipline, respect, and character. Sensei Will is an outstanding instructor and leader. He is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in every student's growth. He knows how to push students to be their best while still making classes fun and encouraging. You can tell he truly cares about his students both on and off the mat. Jesse is amazing as well. It's his studio, so obviously he's going to be awesome. He is always supportive, attentive, and great at connecting with students of all ages. The instruction is clear, consistent, and motivating, and students truly feel seen and supported. Dani deserves a huge shout-out. She helps with everything and keeps the whole place running smoothly. Dani is incredibly kind, organized, and always ready to help parents and students alike. One of my favorite things about the team at Curtis Karate is that they care just as much about your child's character as they do their martial arts skills. Sensei Jesse provides character 'homework' sheets for all students at every level so grownups can reinforce positive character traits at home as well as at school. In addition to the dojo, he often teaches character counts programs at the school district, provides free self-defense training for the community, and offers private lessons for children with specific developmental needs. My nieces and nephews still talk about the 'Movie Nights' that they attended, and how much fun it was to hang out with friends and the Sensei for games and pizza. I've seen Sensei Will go out of his way to work with kids who are struggling or need additional behavioral support, and Sensei Sydney is one of the kindest people, with a smile and a positive word for everyone. There is a great team of people from the front desk (Shoutout to Ms. Dani and Ms. Carly) to the mat (Sensei Reddick, Sensei Bryan, Sensei Sydney J, Sensei Sophie, and especially Sempai Kristen) who are not only looking out for your child but strive to foster an environment of inclusivity, respect and ultimate focus. read more

Curtis Karate is a top-notch karate dojo and family fitness center located in Murrieta/Temecula off of Jefferson. I am totally captivated by the level of focus there is on the kids at this fitness center. The kids are not just a member number but each are treated as individuals with the highest amount of respect for them and emphasis on their learning the craft. Another great perk about being a member at Curtis Karate is adults/parents can take kickboxing classes and karate classes too. It totally makes sense that the entire family can have an opportunity to get a workout under the same roof. On top of all this, FAMILY focus is a huge part of this dojo. Others only seemed to offer group karate lessons to the "masses" and I never felt like my child received any individual attention. With Z-Ultimate in Murrieta, Sensei Pierce offers Shaolin Kempo Karate and provides all his students with the basic understanding of all the animals: Tiger, Crane, Snake, Leopard, and Dragon which all have very different postures and focuses on a more traditional approach. There's always an uplifting and positive "quote of the week" listed on the board in the dojo, we're always greeted when entering, phone calls are always returned within the same day. Sensei Pierce has always been accommodating in rescheduling private sessions due to vacation schedules. The most important part is my son enjoys going. He's met a ton of new friends, he's more responsive and better behaved to helping out at home and over-all- a happier child. He's learning discipline and different self-defense techniques while enjoying it at the same time. ***Added side note--- The karate studio is located right next to a major grocery store, two Chinese restaurants, a Mexican restaurant, a subway, an Irish pub, etc. So you can always grab a boba drink and do some light grocery shopping for your night's dinner while your kids are doing karate. ;)

Even at just 4 and 6 years old, our boys already show him such genuine respect, and as parents, that's exactly what we hoped to find. Our boys have spent the majority of their training with Coach Dienekes, and we can't say enough about him -- his guidance and dedication have been a huge part of getting our oldest ready for his competition in two weeks. On top of that, Professor Tom still made time for a private lesson with him ahead of the comp, even with how busy he's been prepping other students for their own competitions. Above and beyond doesn't even cover it. You could feel how much care and love for the sport both coaches pour into these kids. The facility itself matches the quality of the coaching -- spacious, well laid out, and always clean and organized, with dedicated areas for the different classes and even a lounge for parents. You can tell how much pride they take in the place. We tried another gym before this one, and it just never felt like this. We are so grateful to have finally found our jiu jitsu home. The entire team has been instrumental in our children's success, both on the training mat and at competitions. My wife and I were both multi-sport athletes, but neither of us ever practiced or competed in combat sports so while we weren't sure what to expect, we both understood what effective teaching/training looked like. From the first day, it was evident that the team was focused on developing comfort and confidence in the new students. They were both immediately assigned to an experienced student who made them feel relaxed and walked them through both the drills and lessons over the next few days. They quickly went from being a little scared of joining a class full of students with varied experience levels to requesting to attend class every day of the week. Of all the extracurricular activities they had tried, this was the one that ignited their passion the most. The professor, Tom Cronin, and the entire team of coaches do an excellent job of keeping the kids engaged by balancing expectations with both fun and recognition. They have a great sense of each student and how to motivate them to excel. They also steer clear of pitfalls we were warned of by friends who have children attending other academies, specifically promotions based on attendance as opposed to merit. At this gym, the children are evaluated on their skills and ability to execute the requisite moves. This encourages them to excel instead of just casually participating. Within 9 months they had developed enough confidence to compete and we were blown away at how well they performed against the competition from around the country. Most importantly, they had a coach prepare them the week before with one on one training and he was the one who attended the competition to coach both of them through all of their matches. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly for us, the academy doesn't just teach them BJJ, it reinforces core behaviors that we expect from our children - Respect, honor, and community. At the end of the day, we are all trying to raise the best humans we can and I can say with absolute confidence, that this academy is an integral part of that process for our children. I absolutely recommend Carlson Gracie, Temecula to anyone with any interest in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu.
