We went here for about a month for some Boxing that my wild 5 year old got in his head to do. Well the last couple months we haven't gone as now he's onto baseball. Today i remembered the re occurring payments and called to cancel. They had already ran the charge for August and my lack of following up with canceling is my fault. Welcome to Legacy Boxing and Fitness, a brand spankin' new gem of a gym located at the Town Center Plaza on the corner of Jefferson and Juniper in Murrieta!! I was shocked to see that this place has no reviews yet, so...allow me to be the first!! I went in last night to check it out. I met with Coach Fernando after a killer workout I had at another facility. I first heard about Legacy from my former coworker. He gave me a tour, explained what classes and various memberships they have, and got me in for a trial HIIT Fire Kickboxing workout for 9:30am this morning. It's a women's class, but Coach Fernando said they are going to turn it into a co-ed class soon since they aren't getting enough women coming in for it. I went in anticipating the intensity that any HIIT Fire workout brings, and mannnn, it really was FIRE!! Coach Alex was there when I came in and greeted me right away. He told me a bit more about the gym and said I could use the equipment they had to warm up before the class (I was actually early, lol)! Once it started, Coach Fernando ended up doing a one-on-one with me since no one else showed up. Yay me!! Hahahaaa!! He was great at teaching me the basics, and went over side stepping, the jab/cross/uppercut combos I am already familiar with, as well as other drills. I was really into it and didn't get any videos of myself in action, but Coach Alex got me on video so I may be up on their IG stories lol... After stepping into the ring, we did some bag work on the sidelines and then ended up doing some ab work in the front room. I got my workout in today fo sho!!! This gym is squeaky clean and you can also do group classes with Coach Derek Soro, find him on the gram: @coachdsoro I'll be seeing that guy to take one of his classes very soon. Got a chance to meet him last night and he is going to run it hard, I already know...if you see his stories on the gram, you'll know what I'm talking about! Legacy Gym is super clean, very friendly, and has great staff! This has to be the cleanest gym that I've ever been to. There are plenty of equipments for every type of athlete. The environment has a special and quality feel. The members are friendly and goal-oriented towards health and fitness. You don't get the stereotypical mentality here... just friendly and respectful people. Leo who runs the gym is very nice, attentive, and professional. I Just took the Beats and Boot Camp and Amanda was Great! I like how she really focuses on the different body parts and how she pushes you to your max with the Music. I love the diversity of workouts available at this gym! From boxing, weight training, conditioning, boot camps and group/ personal training, I am challenged to step outside my comfort zone. I love the encouragement I feel from the trainers and other women in the gym, even if I don't know them, we are all supporting and empowering one another. There are boot camp/training classes two times, five days a week, and they're the best deal in town! You're truly lucky if you get to train with Mary; she's so genuine and insightful on each individual body and how to build it best. The gym now has 24-hour access via a key fob so you can get in your training regardless of your crazy schedule. The boxing classes look so fun; the kids, teenagers, and adults are dripping with sweat and smiling. There are friendships built while improving cardiovascularly and physically. I love this place, and the trainers Hope and JoJo. I know there were problems recently with a former part owner, who has since left, but there are no issues now. Legacy is clean, welcoming and full of shiny equipment. everyone I've met is friendly and non-intimidating. I've been going here 2-3 times a week for training with Hope and have lost more than 30 lbs. usually I'm one of 2-3 clients retraining together which I like. Fun to make new friends and we can complain together when Hope pushes us. But that's what a trainer is for! Since Derek has left this gym is so much better and drama free. So many things are changed and being moved around to make it more efficient and gives it a bit more of a clean look. This gym when they first opened was like a beverly hills gym feel, super clean and modern. After Derek came in, it started to look like it was just being thrown together and overpacked with different equipment and different colors giving it a very cluttered and lost feeling. Things are finally moving around and looking better. Very excited to see the direction this business is going! Wow!! what a great training facility. My wife, son and myself have been training here as a family for almost 3 months now. This is a comfortable training environment. We feel like we are working out with family!! Often times in other gyms or training facility's, insecurities can arise based on the egotistic energy. NOT IN THIS PLACE! My 14 year old son does the boxing training with "pops". I have to say "pops" genuinely cares about his clients, as all the other trainers do as well. I have no interest in pursuing our healthy lifestyle anywhere else. If you want to be in a place with motivational energy, that builds confidence, and learn to live a healthier lifestyles, I suggest gettting involved in the classes with coach "D"!! Lies and spreads rumors. Is aggressive towards females and talks down to them. Will grab them and ask if they enjoyed their weekend eating and drinking. Probably due to substance abuse, but who really knows. You'll hear family this and faith that, but it's all a façade. Just joined, great equipment and staff is attentive. Plenty of room and machines/benches/dumbbells to use. Gym is kept very clean and tidy. Great music also not the typical boring gym music. This Gym has been a life saver for me, I've always had trouble adjusting to other Gyms due to people with big Egos from members and Coaches, when you step into this gym they make you feel like a family ! As soon as you walk in you are welcomed with a Huge smile and hug by Coach D along with other members as well, they are very positive, uplifting, and most importantly DEDICATED. I've only been in this gym for a short amount of time, but already I feel like part of the family! The facility is nice, the staff was nice. I had a personal family Emergency and I wasn't able to go take my son in for boxing classes back in sept of 2021 and I called to Cancel in jan 2022, but apparently that never happened. They were setting up a new billing system at the time so Idk if this had anything to do with it. I know they are also under new management, any-who 4 months later they billed me $360 so I call and they say yes we can refund you no problem and supposedly process the refund: 7 days go by no refund, I call no answers. I get a hold of someone on IG and they were straight up rude and unprofessional. The owner stands behind his ppl that's cool, but will not acknowledge the low level of unprofessionalism. It's sad and I really hope they don't treat other ppl like this. I have the screen shots to show how they gas lighted me and tried to intimidate me. Not to Mention the manipulation. This behavior screams TOXIC!!!! Just posting to warn anyone who wants to avoid this type of treatment. If I could describe Legacy in one word it would be: sham. The biggest sham I have ever experienced in my entire life. The CO owner Derek uses family and religion as a way to pull you in but in reality he is one of the most crooked people in the fitness community. It used to be a nice place but has totally gone downhill for the extreme erratic behavior on his end. Not to mention he can't even refrain from vaping in front of the children (great way to promote health!) when he actually shows up to the gym. There is a complete lack of competence clearly between both owners of the gym and it's quite frankly embarrassing. They should take "boxing" off the logo considering they now don't have anyone that is actually knowledgeable in the sport. If you are looking for a gym to learn how to box and not for fitness STEAR CLEAR of this establishment. Just in general do not waste your time or money here, you will be treated like you are disposable. read more
