I'll start by saying I NEVER write bad reviews.. I think this will be my second one ever, but I feel it needs to be said. I have waited a week to write this hoping it was just my hair in "shock" or maybe the way I was parting it but no, I have a horrible hair cut. Here is my experience. I went in on a Monday afternoon just to see if on the off chance they were taking walk in's...they weren't. The man at the reception counter was a little snooty and put out when he told me he was alone and had an appointment coming in but booked an appointment for me the following day with another stylist. I returned 15 minutes before my appointment time filled out the card and was taken right away. The stylist was super nice and I will not call her out here because of that. However, I went in looking to have my bangs fixed as they looked like a 2 year old cut them, they were long and falling into my eyes, heavy and a little crooked. I also wanted some face framing fringe and maybe some long layers. She listened and asked all the right questions. She checked in with me a few times but it was too late the damage was already done as she cut my bangs first. They were SHORT way shorter than we had discussed, but they were wet. Then came the blow dry. She knew they were too short as she dried them straight and flat to my forehead. I asked for them to lay right at my eyebrows but no amount of flattening would get them there. They looked awful, but there is no fixing too short bangs. I should have said something but..well I was already starting to get upset and didn't want to cry. I did ask if she could fluff them up a bit and she admitted she purposely dried them flat. I felt the other stylists looking and judging, but that was most likely my own paranoia. I did give her a good tip because she was so nice and I just wanted out of there. Over this past week I have discovered that not only are my bangs a full 1/2 inch shorter than we discussed, but they are crooked and lopsided as well. The face framing fringe is non existent as it is just 2 "layers" one 3 inches shorter than the other. There is nothing anyone can do to fix this. I could have done better cutting my own hair with a Brad Mondo YouTube video. Now I am wearing hats or wearing clips to clip my bangs up and wearing ponytails. Think 1980's front bump-it style only flat and with WAY more hairspray. I know it is only hair and it will grow but I am a woman of a certain age and 1. should not have "baby bangs" and 2.my hair has never grown fast and now it grows even slower. The shop was cute and clean. I can't say the people were nice as I only interacted with my stylist long enough to form an opinion. And she was SUPER nice...just possibly not on her best game. I hate leaving bad reviews but I can't look in the mirror at this monstrosity that is my hair without wanting to cry. This is the only time I have left a salon looking worse than I did going in. read more

I love this place! Today was my first visit. Samuel was my stylist. He asked lots of questions to make sure he gave me what I wanted. He is super-sweet and he gave me an awesome haircut. The rest of the people there were also very sweet and friendly. It's a great atmosphere. I highly recommend! read more

I had been going to Curves and then made the decision to move. I wish I lived closer, or I would be there every 6 weeks as I did 6 years ago. This place is warm, friendly, and both of the owners, Ken and Andrew provided the most profesional care I could ever ask. The shop is clean and organized. They are both curteous and have the best sense of humor. I always left with a smile and oh, yes, the best looking hair each and every time! I do have a story. My mother in law was too weak and too sick to make the trip to Curves which was only a few miles away. She had cancer and was living with us. We called Ken. He came on his day off and cut her hair. OMG, this act of kindness, no words. That hair cut was a gift because if he could have seen her the rest of the day....again, no words. I've been patronizing Curves Hair Studio for over 20 years...since they opened. From day one, Ken and Andrew (the owners) have treated me with nothing but respect. Finding a great stylist that matches your needs is like finding a doctor you like. Sometimes, you have to try a few before you find a good fit. I remember Ken telling me if I ever felt like I was stagnating with my stylist, he would appreciate it if I'd try another one at Curves rather than leave them altogether (that no one's feelings would be hurt). Their stylists are all very skilled and in demand. You'd be lucky to get a walk-in appt (though I'm sure it does happen sometimes). My work schedule is often unpredictable, so when I schedule...I'm happy to see anyone who fits *my* availability (which I think says a lot about their stylists). Bottom line...I've been coming to Curves for over 20 years and have had plenty of opportunity to be disappointed...I simply haven't. Oh, and they serve WINE! read more

If you live local and looking for a good quality hair cut with nice products and great stylists I recommend you stop in here. When I moved to the area I tried a few other places and was so happy to find Curves and Jenna! She does a great job cutting my hair every time. Curves is an amazing salon where I was a long time customer, even when I lived in NYC they could always find a spot for me to get my hair cut, colored and styled when I needed it. If my stylist wasn't available, someone would always step in and use my card to meet my needs that day. I always left not only with a great haircut, but a smile. Curves is also always there for the community they post all the community events and were always willing to donate a gift card when I was collecting donations for the suicide prevention walk silent auction and raffle. I followed my stylist Jenna to this location about 6 years ago. Ken and Andrew do amazing job of making their salon stand out among others that feel very industrial. The way it's set up you don't feel like you are walking into a salon but rather someone's home. Every member of the their team greets you with a smile and seems super happy you are there. I started going to Curves within the last year. My daughters have used Michelle and Mary and I have seen Jenna. All three did exactly what I asked for and when I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with my color, Jenna looked at one picture that I liked and knew exactly what to do. I felt the prices were pretty reasonable for the services I received. The whole staff was very friendly. I was greeted at the door by Andrew who made sure I had a place to sit and offered me a drink even though he was with a client. He was friendly to every person that walked into the door. There was even a mistake with a client's appointment being deleted and Andrew squeezed her in by offering to do her color since Jenna already had me and another client she was working on. Love this place and my stylist. The studio is in old town Manassas so right in the middle of the action. You can grab lunch, dinner, or drinks after. However the studio is very calm and relaxing. I am new in town and finding a new salon and stylist is one of the worst things about moving. Well today I was grateful to a coworker who recommended me to Curves Hair Studio. I was greeted with friendliness and smiles. The salon is small but really cute. My stylist Jenna took the time to talk with me before having my hair shampooed. She asked what I wanted, asked some questions before getting started. Jenna then ran her hands through my long curly fine hair to make sure she understood the texture, which is exactly what a stylist should do, especially when dealing with waves or curls. I asked for some long layers with a few to frame my face and a trim while keeping the length. I also made it clear that I wear my hair straight or curly depending on my mood so the cut had to work for both. That's exactly what I got. I've been going to Mary for years, and she is consistently great with my hair! I've had lots of different colors and cuts, and always satisfied! I'm very picky, selective and have high standards when it comes to my hair cut and color. This salon delivers!! They genuinely CARE about their customers and will do anything to make sure you walk out of their salon HAPPY! They take great care of their clients, I speak from my own experience with a color treatment where it just wouldn't take to my hair, but they kept working to fix it, without charge...whatever it takes to make sure I'm a satisfied customer! Fabulous and super cute little shop in Old Town Manassas- I've seen Ken for many years and Jenna for the past 2 years. Both are awesome. When I walk in, I am greeted by multiple members of staff. I can help my self to coffee, tea, coffee cake, or the assortment of candies and nuts. They have coloring books, markers and crayons available for the kids as well. This is the best hair experience I've ever had... the place is so nice and welcoming, and they have drinks and snacks for you. Krystal (I don't know if I spelled it right!) greeted me when I came in, she was also my hair washer. She was so sweet and asked me how I was, and I felt so relaxed! Mary cut my hair and this is the first time I've ever really felt listened to about how I wanted my curly hair (I've been to manyyyy different salons and have had many haircuts I didn't really like). I was very apprehensive about getting my hair cut because I've had so many stylists in this area get it wrong. But not Adelina!!! I showed her a picture and she did it exactly right. I got a layered bob, and she cut it perfectly, not too blunt but not too stacked. She did an excellent shampoo too! The atmosphere is very comfortable, and the service is great.
