Scheduled an appointment to have my headlights and fog lights replaced. Once I got both replaced, one of my headlights went out within a couple weeks and one of my fog lights went out within 2 months. They use very very low quality bulbs and they don't offer any warranties on the product they sell. I believe the brand they use is 6c which is like 14 bucks for a pair. I ended up watching a you tube video and replaced all my lights with high quality bulbs. read more

So, as before, I ALWAYS do my homework on various shops in each industry prior to commenting; since I'm not into bashing other half-assed shops, here's why Custom Concepts is my choice for best Custom auto-system shop. I called a day before and asked to bring in my '09 Navigator. Gentleman on the Phone told me I would have to speak with J, as he is the audio installation expert, and he will be in tomorrow starting at 9 AM. So the following morning I got in my car went to the shop and I met with Jay. He was very professional & courteous. Before I get ahead of myself, '09 Navigator comes with THX Audio surround sound package which I know from research is a hassle because of all the extra speakers and perks that come with the Limited series. Now, very first question J asked me "is it a THX?" WoW! He knew the intricate details with my car, approx watts that come stock, etc. He went out to my car with the head unit I had purchased elsewhere and said "I wanna make sure I can make this work, if I can't make it look & fit good imma let you know in advance because I don't want to do mediocre work." And with that - he sold me. The man takes pride in his work & if he's not 100% happy with it, he won't do it. After extensive questioning on various tech talk, I'm confident in his abilities, he even double checked with me if I'm sure that I wanna purchase the harness before he takes apart my dash to see IF it's doable by his standards. I agreed, and will be returning from my trip on April 2nd to drop off my truck. Est. Install time is 4-5 hours @ an hourly rate that was by far better than the $120-$180/hr from other local idiots that don't know if 1ohms or 4ohms hit harder! My dumb ass later rolled the window down before the film could cure, ruining it. I took it back to the shop and he replaced it for a much more than fair price. I had to cancel on them and they were really cool about it no cancellation fee, actually called me back and was super accommodating, I went in today for a Best Custom tint job and they nailed it, definitely the best one I've ever had, they are also going to do my custom audio and brake controller install, hope I can talk them into an automatic retractable nerf bar side step install also, lol, very very clean shop, in a safe part of town, love this shop, they also do wraps and paint protection! Tint was 15% less than other quotes o got and even more of a discount on the custom audio and dude knew his stuff, his knowledge is going to save me a lot of trouble I would have down the road! ETA- Received call from either the owner or the manager apologizing for the error and poor service. The $50 was refunded, but had we not raised heck with those that referred us to them, nothing would have been done. Changing from 1 star to 3. I have referred SO many people to Custom Concepts for tinting needs and will NEVER EVER AGAIN! SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES! NOT HOLDING UP TO THEIR PROMISES. VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I referred my best friend to get his new car tinted - we honestly should have known when he was quoted 3 different prices within a 24 hour period. 1 - Phone call (5/23) - on speaker (I was present) - Quoted $350 for the Galaxy (mid-grade tint). 2 - Email (5/24) - Quoted $400 for the higher grade 3 - Phone Call (5/24) - Quoted $250 for the Galaxy tint An appointment was made for today - Friday, May 25... I arrived with my friend to drop off his car at 9am. Besides it taking 25 minutes to fill out paperwork, he was charged up front $250 for the GALAXY tint. It was discussed several times with the guy - all of his paperwork says Galaxy tint and he paid $250 at the time of drop off. He was told the car would be done within 2 1/2 hours (which would have been 11:30am.) Justin called my friend at 11:38am advising that there was a mixup and they accidentally put the Ultra (top grade) tint on his car. He was given the option to either allow them to remove all of the tint and then he'd have to wait for them to remove and install the correct tint - or he would "split the cost" of the upgrade to the better tint ($50). Keep in mind it's Friday almost afternoon on a HOLIDAY WEEKEND and we were ready to pick up his car. He needed the car and was basically pressured into agreeing to the $50 if he wanted his car done at any reasonable hour. We arrived to pick up his car and I asked Justin exactly what had happened causing the error. He said their NEW EMPLOYEE wrote the incorrect film type on the paperwork and they didn't notice it until they looked at how much he'd paid for the tint. I asked him if it's customary to pass on the errors of the employees to the customers - and the manager chimed in telling us that they have to "break even somehow". They basically made us feel like we were assholes for expecting them to pay for their own mistake. Here's the deal - they had already completed the job with the wrong tint. Removing the Ultra (premium) tint to replace with Galaxy (mid-grade) tint would have been even more costly to them as a company - if you consider the COST OF FILM + LABOR/WAGES they would pay to remove & reinstall - than to just suck it up and eat it as a mistake. Or even maybe charge it to the new guy that made the mistake to begin with. When we got home, we looked at the paperwork that Justin had advised us the new guy filled out wrong with "Ultra" instead of "Galaxy" ----- all of our paperwork says GALAXY. I called to chat with Justin about this because he said the paperwork had been filled out with Ultra. He clarified that it was only their internal paperwork that had the wrong info written down but the warranty is still the same. He also told me we had to talk to the owner to get corrected paperwork to reflect what was actually installed on the vehicle - so they could charge my friend for the Ultra product but not fix the paperwork without making us jump through hoops with the manager and owner. It is an incredibly shady business practice to lure someone in on Friday for a tint job on their new car, and then threaten to hold their car hostage ALL DAY, instead of the 2 1/2 hours as promised, if they don't pay an additional $50 - WHEN IT'S THE COMPANY'S FAULT - NOT THE CONSUMER!! I explained to Justin that i'm disappointed that I've referred so many people to them and this is the experience that my friend received. Instead of some sort of apology - his response in a sassy pants 90s Clueless Alicia Silverstone voice "So you're mad about 1 customer's bad experience out of 5?!" - I had to clarify for him that I had followed up with a couple of my prior referrals after today's experience- who mentioned bubbles in their tint and a clear bra job that was cut with an exacto knife - super choppy and had to be redone by Trimline. He had no response to that. I also explained to Justin that if i go to Port of Subs and they make me the wrong sandwhich - they don't charge me to make it right.... He said "This is not Port of Subs." He's right - it's a brand new vehicle that my friend TRUSTED with this company - and was essentially held hostage if he didn't pay the $50 more. Horribly sneaky sales practices!!! I truly hope the $50 that you billed my friend was worth the loss of any future referrals that you might have received from me. 10/13/14 So I've just recently read the comment regarding my review of Custom Concept and just want to point out and make something clear. I am not here to start an argument but simply wanting to justify inaccuracies the business owner Rod stated from his comments below. First, I did not called back about a month later; It was approximately two weeks after getting the tint strip done. The reason I called back was not to ask for compensation regarding the broker shifter but rather it was the tint strip itself. I was informed to call back if the numerous bubbles did not disappear on their own which they didn't. I rescheduled an appointment to get it redone which Custom Concept honored and it turned out great the second time around. After scheduling an appointment, I did mentioned to the women who works there about my shifter and she just assured me that it couldn't have happen since the equipment they use is simply a squeegee. I agree but I was thinking maybe someone hit it with their ring or something heavy and not noticed it but I did not pursue it any further and left it at that. Second, sure every customer need to sign a release before leaving but it is also good practice and customer service for technicians to walk and inspect the car with their clients. When I picked up the car, the man handed me the papers to sign and out the door I went. On the way out, I ran into the technician who worked on my car I assumed (can't remember his name) but he quickly mentioned the bubbles should disappear in about 2 weeks. I shook his hands and left. This took about 10 seconds. Should I inspect every nook and cranny of my car for a simple tint strip? No which is why I just realized it when driving home sitting at a stop light. Finally, I did not spoke to the owner (Rod), directly and no questions were asked about why I waited so long to contact them. I did not admit to it possibly being damaged somewhere else as mentioned in Rod's comments as I am 100% positive that it happened there. Rod also stated that I booked another appointment for more tinting, and if he is referring to redoing the tint strip then he is correct; however, I have since returned to the business. Custom Concept is great at what they do, and they do honor the warranty which is fantastic. What I do not appreciate is the inaccurate justification on their part from the comment that I see below. I am not asking for any compensation but simply admitting that there is a possibility that it could have happened there. A simple incident just blew this out of proportion but I still stand by my review. Quality of work and reliability is great but for breaking my shifter, I rate it 2 stars hence the low review. If not for this incident, Custom Concept is a great tint shop and I would have returned; however, I'm sure I can find another tint shop in the future around the vicinity. read more

Got the 2 front windows on my Tesla Y done a week or so back. Utter perfection. They said maybe an hour, I was out the door in 30 minutes, and MOST IMPORTANTLY the tint is flawless. I wouldn't advise anybody to go here. They're sloppy and messy and their customer service is terrible. I brought in my car and they left streaks all over my seats. They even got streaks and splashes on the in dash screen. How do you get liquid splashes and streaks on the screen? On top of that they left a scratch on my car. Deep enough where my fingernail gets stuck. Beyond disappointed. Not only should they have more respect for their job just being a man, they also should have more respect for other people's possessions. Not everybody grew up nice, some of us had to go hard for everything we have. Not all of us take things like this lightly. Just some dirty dusty kids doing a sloppy job. read more

Using a Groupon I got my windows tinted here. The shop is clean but small. The customer area has a few chairs and unfortunately very little protection from the hot sun that shines in. However, I will say the people that run the shop seem friendly and did their jobs quickly. The two other customers that were in the shop with me were there to get repairs on their previous tint jobs which concerns me a little bit about the longevity of mine. All of the tinting applications come with a lifetime warranty and they didn't seem to have a difficult time in coming in to get the repairs done though. Because it is a very small customer area and generally the job takes 2 hours it wasn't the most comfortable wait I've had so I ended up going to one of the only things that are close, the Goodwill across the street. The shop is not in the most ideal part of town or at least that direct area seemed a little sketchy. I'm glad I did my repairs during the day and would not feel comfortable leaving the shop at night. So far there have been no problems with the tint and we are very happy with the results. The affordability of this shop is really good after shopping around this was one of the best prices I found. read more
