I had reached out to several fence contractors, but Juan responded immediately and gave me the answer I was looking for, which was an honest one: he couldn't tell me how much the job would cost without seeing it in person. I respect that. Juan came out punctually the next morning to give me an estimate. He immediately pointed out a couple of reasons why our decrepit gate and fence was failing and offered two solutions that would ensure that the replacements were durable and functional. He offered fair pricing which included hauling away the old materials. Within a couple of hours he had emailed a professional and clear estimate. Two days later, Juan and his crew arrived a few minutes earlier than scheduled to get started on our project. Each team member was very professional, clean, and fast- they worked together so quietly it almost seemed as if they had an unspoken way of communicating with each other. This was really appreciated since the work was being done just outside of our home office where my husband was on several meetings that morning. When the project was done, my husband and I were very impressed with the quality of the work and materials. Juan had called me an hour after his crew left to ensure that we were satisfied with the job. The owner personally reached out to me--even while overseas--to listen to my concerns and make things right. Both he and the project manager communicated clearly and professionally the second time around, and they addressed all of the issues I raised within a week. The craftsmanship was corrected, the cleanup concerns were taken seriously, and I appreciated their willingness to own the missteps and follow through quickly. Not every project goes perfectly, but how a company responds makes all the difference--and in this case, they really stepped up. Bruce was very responsive when we reached out in June for estimates on our deck replacements. His…read moreestimate was affordable and we felt assured when he came out to see the project as he commented on what was required according to code (apparently our dilapidated decks were not compliant and none of the other contractors we consulted with made mention of this). Bruce confirmed his availability for install beginning in late October at that time and we coordinated via email as that time approached. Bruce and his team do very great, thorough work. They were all very friendly and trustworthy. We are very pleased with our deck replacements and the dry rot pieces they both identified and replaced on our front support columns. Bruce also hung up our new address numbers for us at the conclusion of the project, which was a big help for us! We did not receive an invoice until the very end of the project (after 3 of 4 payments were made), but did receive one nonetheless. Despite this, we don't have any concern about Bruce and his team coming out to repair anything that should arise. Though, we don't expect that to happen based on the quality work they provided. Their focus is on their craft, not the administrative pieces of the business. I highly recommend Shaffer & Sons and will keep Bruce's contact information should we, our friends, or family members require any work completed in the future.

I got her as a…read more9 month old puppy, and she immediately made short shrift of my entire, 25-year-old (pretty rotted) perimeter fence. Not a small job, and an emergency one, because she LOVED running around the neighbors' yards. Lucian and his Dad braved the elements on extremely short notice, and built an entire new fence (mostly in the rain) for a great price. They gave me lots of upgrades, like unknotted wood, and thicker footers, and were incredibly fast and efficient. Its beautiful. That should have been enough, but - no - then my about six months later my back neighbors got their own Bernadoodle puppy, and the two dogs decided they didn't want a fence, so my pitty figured out how to pound her head against the boards until they bowed, then get her jaws on the wood, and tear through it. Lucian agreed that metal roof panels attached to the back fence would probably work (either that or an electric cattle fence), so he and his son came back out with the panels, cut them to fit, and spent a day attaching them, which - it turns out - is not as easy as it sounds. Again, quick service and excellent value. This family business, NW Modern, is fantastic, and I highly recommend them. And yes - it appears the metal roof panels are working!

We contacted several people/companies to give a quote to replace our entire fence and YTO was on our list. YTO came out within a few days to take a look and had an estimate to me that same night. They said they would be able to reuse our steel post which helped drop the price a little bit. After getting all quotes, YTO came in the lowest and the price was more than fair! We decided to proceed with YTO and he even offered to start just a couple days later if we wanted, but he did not pressure us to start fast as he more emphasized that he could accommodate whatever would work best for us (which I appreciated since I don't like being pressured). When we had them out, Yusdel and team did a wonderful job on our fence!! We had about 185 square feet and they did it all in 1 day. It was seriously amazing, they worked so hard and it looks fantastic! The quality of the materials were so much better than the original fence too. They perfectly copied the original style of fence (required by our HOA), but using cedar. Our neighbors kept coming out and YTO team members were so patient with dealing with them as well. All the team at YTO were so nice and so sweet, especially Yusdel. I cannot recommend YTO enough. We have a paint project likely coming up in the summer and I'll definitely be calling them back. They showed up on time, came well equipped with quality tools and the same quality wood as what they were replacing. They completed the job without any problems and from their work, it's clear that they are skilled at what they do. Their prices were also very reasonable. I find that a lot of tradespeople don't want to do "small jobs" and will often estimate small jobs at astronomical prices. This was not the case with Gabino's.
