I brought in 30lbs of already trimmed, deboned venison with my own beef fat for them to grind and package (my grinder was not serviceable when I needed it). They charged me $50 just to run the meat through their machine. I opened a pack from my freezer today and there was a section in the pack about 1in x 1in that was completely rancid and it tainted the whole pack. I've gone through a number of packs already that were totally fine, and my freezer has continued working. I called 3 weeks before getting a deer to see how much it would cost his son picked up the phone and told me it would be $75 out the door for a basic butcher then when I got there I was told it would be more 75 to butcher and a $10 handling fee and a $10 skinning fee and 3.69 per pound for the ground meat and mind it i drove 35 minutes from home only because I was told it would be 75. I really like to leave Yelp reviews when I have a good experience with a place and it seems I'm the first to leave a review here! About two years ago I tried another processor for the deer I hunted but was really _really_ displeased with my service (seriously - check out my reviews and you'll see the one I'm referring to). I stopped by this one earlier in the fall to scope it out and was really pleased with how nice the guys were there. They showed me around the facilities and explained how their service works. So last week I took my deer there and got a call yesterday to pick up. I was super pleased! My venison came back to me wrapped up just as I requested - in butcher paper covering cellophane. All the cuts were clearly marked so it made it super easy to store in the freezer for when we need to take one out to cook. The box the cuts came in was brand new and waxed so the meat wouldn't accidentally wet my car seat if it thawed out on the way home. Great service all around. I'm going hunting in the area this week and I'll take my deer by there again. I hear the jerky and sausage are great - but I'm too addicted to the roasts to ask for anything else still! read more
