She knew when to ramp up our frequency of meetings and she also knew when to tell us to relax and not worry about stuff. We like that she comes with the aisle planner software and lets us access it. She provided a thorough checklist for us with indications of when an item on the list should be completed by. She was very accessible and we knew we could count on her to respond quickly even if our question was not urgent. As our florist in addition to our planner, she helped a lot with some last-minute florals that we wanted to do and made sure everything happened very smoothly. When we couldn't find any freshly squeezed juice near me Melissa was eager to help and make sure we had that by the time of the wedding. Everyone was impressed at how quickly the venue was able to transform between the different stages of the wedding and how knowledgeable Melissa was. We really appreciated about how Melissa joined us in our vendor meetings and kept in touch with them for us. We definitely would've gotten overwhelmed if we did not have Melissa.

Day-of Coordination: Elena stood out not only on the wedding day but also in the months leading up to it. She was incredibly helpful during the planning process--offering thoughtful insight into creating a seamless timeline and even helping with ideas for decor and place settings tailored to our outdoor, beachy (and occasionally windy!) wedding. She thought of every detail, from preparing us in advance to get those dreamy photos (like the first kiss and cake cutting) to ensuring everything ran on schedule without a hitch. On the day, Elena was a true lifesaver. From the rehearsal to the ceremony and reception, I never once had to worry about where I needed to be or what was next. She kept everything moving smoothly, pointing me in the right direction while allowing me to fully enjoy the company of our guests and the magic of the day. And she always made sure we were taken care of (never without a drink in hand!). Her leadership and attention to detail made it all so effortless for us. Florals: Melissa tackled all of our floral arrangements, and I couldn't have been happier with how they turned out! Working within my limited budget, she brought my vision to life with stunning florals that perfectly matched our style and the seaside setting. Melissa truly understood the look I was going for, and her creativity and expertise made every arrangement stand out beautifully. It was exactly what we were looking for: casually elegant, outdoors and as charming as the rest of Julian is. The outdoor courtyard accommodated 45 guests but could likely fit a few more. We went with a custom package/menu that included: - A spread of breakfast goodies (quiche, sausage/bacon, the fluffiest biscuits I've ever had, local jams, waffles, granola parfaits) - Drinks (coffee, tea, mimosas) - Tables, chairs, linens - Tableware, flatware, glassware and decor Bonus: Sherry is also an amazing florist. She did all the florals for our wedding, plus the arrangements in this photo that we used at our welcome dinner and then repurposed at the brunch. Having the brunch at Oakwood Creek was the perfect way to wrap up our wedding weekend, and we are grateful to Sherry and Mary Ann for their help taking care of all the details!

The venue is almost entirely gravel, so I would not recommend high heels or any kind of extreme footwear here. They provided cornhole, a photo room, an indoor space, rooms for the bride/bridesmaids and groom/groomsmen to get ready and hang out in. There was one restroom outside and one inside. On the day of the event, there was no assistance from the venue or coordinator with setup of the tables, decorations, etc. Please plan to have people there early to decorate/setup/put out plates and silverware/etc. The wedding ultimately happened without issue. We received multiple comments from guests about how nice the venue was. I wasn't incredibly involved with the planning process. From what I've heard, there were some flower arrangements that were spoken about but weren't seen, and I believe there were supposed to be people there to assist with setup but there were not. Those things are the reason for the 4 star review. I would check and double check and plan to have your own help on the day of your event. Thank you Oakwood Creek for the fantastic evening!

And - I am so honored to say, we were their first guests! Being a wife, mother of two grown children, and grandmother to 4 littles, I spend a lot of time with our family. These days, with my grandchildren ranging from 2-7 years old, that time isn't always spent focused on the adults in the family (do we even remember how to have an adult conversation? LOL). So, I wanted to do something special for my husband, our children, and their spouses. My idea was to celebrate "just because"!We are winegrape farmers and winemakers; having just finished our harvest for the year! There are no birthdays or anniversaries in our immediate family in October. And we hadn't hit the holiday season yet. So this truly was just because. Happy to have harvest season behind me, in choosing our "theme" of the picnic, I requested an emphasis on Autumn. Our setting was my daughter's backyard. GARDENIA PICNIC transformed it into a magical, Fall setting; with Autumn colors, and foods - including a gorgeous autumnal themed cake! Yum!! The decor was exquisite; down to the small details. Everything was thought out thoroughly and placed perfectly. Being a "picnic", and not a full-blown traditional meal, the foods were appropriate to that, and in very generous proportions. The menu offers a nice variety of items, and we all enjoyed the selections tremendously! We were blown away by the beauty and thoughtful touches of our picnic! GARDENIA PICNIC pays attention to detail. They will absolutely do their utmost to make your picnic a perfect party; whether it's just the two of you, or a special accommodation for 6, as we were. Niveen is so sweet! You will be delighted!
