I was finally able to reach her two weeks later, and she asked me to send her a list of all my vendors again (even though I had already forwarded her all my vendor contracts and information before). Kira did not follow through with my vendors according to the timeline we had agreed upon, and I was uncertain as to when I would be able to get my draft timeline from her. When I expressed my concern and frustration, Kira said that since she was hired for day of, her talking to me two months prior to the wedding was a bonus that she was doing for me, and I should not expect to get a timeline until 2 weeks before the wedding. This seemed irresponsible to me, since when I booked her she had said she was free for calls and texts anytime leading up to the wedding. She said that I was unsympathetic towards personal things that came up for her. I felt like it was unprofessional for her to be telling me about personal things in her life that was causing a disruption in her ability to deliver upon her commitment as a coordinator. I ended up hiring a different coordinator who is also day-of. This coordinator said she always works with her clients 8 weeks before the wedding, creates the timeline 6 weeks beforehand, communicates with vendor 3 weeks beforehand and finalizes everything 1 week beforehand. This was exactly the kind of clarity and responsibility I wanted in a coordinator, and I am afraid that Kira did not deliver on this at all for me.

She responded promptly and we set up a day to meet. We met at a local coffee shop and discussed everything I needed to know; I asked questions and she gave me answers, and in turn she took notes on every detail of my wedding (thus far). She was professional, warm and friendly and I felt comfortable discussing my special day with someone who seemed to know so much about the business of wedding coordination. I knew as soon as our initial meeting was over I knew that I wanted to work with Jen. I checked with my soon-to-be husband and family and we finalized our decision with a simple contract to use Jen for her "Day Of" coordination. We had a few meetings between then and the wedding, but most of our communication was through email and phone. She visited my venue with me shortly before the wedding to help me smooth out a couple of kinks, and gave me options and ideas for any other problem I had. Fast-forward to our wedding day. We were especially thankful for her meeting with us several times before the wedding to answer questions and guide us with her expertise. The meetings were very helpful to calm our nerves and informative since we don't plan large events like this one. The month and week before the wedding, Suzette really got involved and started interacting with vendor a lot more. That was particularly great because she was able to spot an issue with our videographers. If it had not been for her helping us, we would have been scrambling to resolve the issue closer to the wedding. During the wedding, Suzette's help was invaluable. Julie was amicable, professional, attentive, and willing to get on calls with us throughout the covid ordeal. What we loved about Julie is that although there was a long period between our original date and new wedding date, she was extremely organized with the original notes from the venue, us, and any discussions we had with the vendors. Plus, she has excellent relationships and connections with the local vendors. Julie doesn't play around either! She tells it how it is and won't sugarcoat things for you.
