When that day happens you realize that a cleaning service is a necessity and not just an extravagant luxury. I had tried several different happy & jolly maid services, but thought that their prices were outrageous and the actual cleaning left a lot to be desired. After a long out-of-town trip, I came home and realized that my place needed some serious help -- let's perhaps start with an interior pressure washing? I found Universal Cleaning Services (UCS) through an on-line search, and was very impressed by their great reviews. UCS is licensed & insured, and they are a family-owned and operated company. I hired them to do a deep cleaning of my condo, and it took the two of them a little over two hours to get everything done. They were just mopping the floors when I got back, and everything looked fantastic! Extremely reasonable prices too. UCS will be on a once-a-month cleaning schedule for me, and I'm happy to give them a solid 5-star review. Take that you wretched dust bunnies!!!

I based my choice off of yelp reviews and decided to go with Universal Cleaning Service. I appreciated the flexibility of their schedule as they were able to fit me in within a few days. Manny was polite and professional. I was given a price which was lower than the other places I researched and a showtime of 10 am for the scheduled cleaning. Today was the day of the cleaning and overall it wasnt a bad experience but I am slightly frustrated with some of the service. There was a mix up with the start time therefore the cleaners arrived to the apartment complex at 0915 which would have been great if I was living there but I've already moved into a hotel. No biggie...they returned and explained the mix up. When making the appointment I was told it would take 3-4 hours to complete the job (1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment) I left the apartment around 10:30 am and it's now 4:02 pm as I'm typing this. I arrived back at the apartment complex around 2:50 pm because it had been some time and I'd heard nothing. When I walked in, the sweet lady from this morning was waiting. She had completed everything except vacuuming because the nice gentleman who was supposed to assist her took off to another location with the vacuum. I've been sitting inside my apartment well over an hour waiting. Not sure if I was charged for one or two cleaners but will be finding out because she's the only one here. She did a good job but not sure it was worth $180 for one person plus the $20 tip I gave (prepaid with credit card). It's now 4:37 pm. The vacuum cleaner arrived finally. I understand hiccups happen but I'm frustrated with the timeline and if I was charged for 2 cleaners. Lesson learned...guess I'll fit cleaning time into my schedule next time...:)

I wrote the first review of BBCS without having sufficient exposure to them and the quality of…read moreservices they provide. In view of that, I will be removing my first effort at reviewing them. I was 100% wrong about the quality of service and the value of their services. First, I explained to them what I want in a service such as theirs. The first experience went well...the manager of our high-rise condo building called them because I had a very important appointment with a real estate agent who was taking prospective buyers to look at our place. These condos are very high end and they must be shown in their best light. The service was responsive -- and pleasant -- and they did help in a timely fashion. I told the owner I would probably call on a last minute basis for similar urgent requirements. She nodded and indicated she understood and would do her best to meet my (our) needs. Well, the next time came and there was a bit of grumbling from her about how busy they were with other clients and how difficult it would be to fit me in. So, now that I have had time to reflect on how it all went, I must say every single visit was not all that wonderful. The individual cleaners were very pleasant and did a good job, but the irritation is with the owner and her daughter. They are very tough with clients and ended up submitting their resignation, saying I was (in essence) too demanding and they could not work with me. So...I did the best I could. I AM demanding and I am entitled to be just that way given the rates that are charged. For "cleaning," the price is okay and the level of service was acceptable. When I broached the topic of doing laundry in the future (not much more than folding sheets and putting them away, plus moving wet sheets from the washer to the dryer), it was as if I were asking for the world! That type of service took me up to the next level of service they offer, which is "housekeeping!" I think if I had known up front that they operate that way I would have steered clear of them. Now that they and I have parted ways, I feel a tremendous sense of relief. I do not need that type of treatment from a cleaning service. I alerted the building manager to the problems I had in working with BBCS and he was interested to learn of my concerns. He followed up with me regarding quality, value, and service(s) requested. You can be sure I did tell him everything. I hope he keeps an eye on them because who knows who will be snared in their web in the future...it is not his fault that I found myself in that predicament, but I would never, ever hire this team again. We did sell the condo and we will not return to St. Pete again as things stand but, given the need, this company would never be hired by me again. That is too bad because once I love a subcontractor everyone who is interested will be told of all the wonderful features of working with them. Once, though, they let me down (rudely!), no one will hear a positive review from ME -- maybe from others, but not me, for sure!
