I ultimately had to wait approximately an hour before I was seen. When Dr. Fung came in, he examined my eye and told me that it appeared to be healing well. I then asked him about a concern I was having--seeing flashing lights when I look to the right. He told me that it was nothing to be concerned about. When I asked whether this was something I should be watching or concerned about, his response was delivered in what I felt was an annoyed and dismissive manner. I asked a few follow-up questions because I wanted to understand what I was experiencing and whether there were any warning signs I should be aware of. Unfortunately, my questions were met with the same irritated attitude. I was left with the impression that he was annoyed that I was asking questions at all. I cannot comment on whether Dr. Fung is an excellent or poor physician when it comes to the technical aspects of his work. However, I do believe that listening to and addressing a patient's concerns is an important part of providing good medical care. I was not impressed with Dr. Fung's bedside manner. Patients should feel comfortable asking questions about their health, particularly following eye surgery, and should feel that their concerns are being heard and taken seriously. In my experience, that was not the case during this visit.

I'm sooo glad I decided to call Minor and James clinic and made an appt with her. Her clinic is at the FIRST HILL BUILDING on Minor ave and James. Parking is located across the street at the parking garage. Make sure to bring the parking stub with you up so that the receptionist can stamp it. The stamp will ensure you a parking discount. Smooth experience from start to end. No long waits in between. I didn't feel rushed or just another patient. She thoughtfully listened to all my concerns & answered all my questions. She explained everything to me thoroughly and very clearly. She thoroughly examined my walk, leg, etc. and was able to pin point the problem instead of ordering a bunch of x-rays that would cost more money. It's rare to find a physician who is as analytical as her, but combine that with her compassion and curiosity, and you have an excellent doctor. I explained that it had already been over a month and that I urgently needed my glasses because I cannot see properly without them, especially since I am traveling. West Seattle Vision is the perfect example. Doctors, front desk staff and skilled professional opticians here and we've been working with them for years. Love it. I visited western doctors for almost a decade, trying various topical meds and oral antibiotics. The result seemed to be only temporary, not to mention some side affects I had. Through David's guidance, I saw a better and more permanent result to my skin issue. Even though it did take longer than I initially expected, looking back it was worth it because I realized a quick fix that I initially expected was not realistic.

(And both were very different issues.) He is very calm and gentle. He gave me good needle treatments both times. On my first visit he did lots of research and contacted a western dr. about what was going on with me. As well, he took in what I had to say about my feelings about western doctors (not so good since they mis-diagnosed my meningitis and I ended up in a coma) and he recommended a doctor that might suit me if I wanted to go that route. I've had lots of acupuncture in the past from a different practitioner so I feel like I know what a good treatment is. And David gave me good treatments and excellent care. He is relatively new as a practitioner (a few years in private practice I believe) but he is already really really great. I know he will become one of the best in Seattle as he gains experience. I highly recommend him.
