Reading the reviews, I thought I would like this place. I was impressed at the beginning, but it went all downhill from there. Beautiful facility, and the ladies were nice, but after getting my eyes check on various machines, it all went downhill from there. My appointment was at 2:00 and we got started a little before that. We got through the eye tests, pictures, numbing the eye and dilating by 2:30. The woman said,"The doctor will be in to go over everything with you" and then we were left sitting in the room waiting and watching a couple videos. At 3:00, a woman moved us to a 2nd room stating,"should only be a few minutes." My feeling is they moved us just so they could use the first room we were in to put someone else to wait. It was like waiting in line for a ride in Disney World. Just when you think the line is moving, you wait standing at the new place in line. At 3:30, I went out to the hall/ office area to ask what's going on and one woman said said, "He's running behind" Yup, we see that. Another woman said, "You should be next". I should have been next an hour ago. Not one person said, "I'm sorry this is taking so long" or "The doctor is running behind." I only got told, "It will be a few minutes" when we were put in the 2nd room at 3:00. When I went to talk with them, I was told, "You should be next." I was offered a water, but at that point I just wanted the doctor to come in and talk with me. I went back in the room and waited 25 more minutes. 3:55- we got up and left. I didn't say a word and simply left the folder of information they gave me on the desk. I was dilated so I couldn't drive with the sun shining off the wet pavement. I was dilated and numbed up for no reason. At a minimum of $11,000 for new lenses, I'll find somewhere else to go. I'm sure they aren't the only ones that do this and I won't spend that much to wait nearly 2 hours past my appointment time. The icing on the cake was being sent the following message before I was gone 5 minutes. I'm sure this is sent after everyone checks out. There is no other place to go if you want the best vision and to be free from eyeglasses. There are lots of places that offer for cataract surgery, but this practice really specializes in providing freedom from glasses and readers. I was reminded to leave this review reminded to leave this review when I used my eyes to see a T-shirt that said 'good work ain't cheap and cheap work ain't good' After doing a lot of research, I determined that nobody had more experience with Vision correction surgery in this area. I was basically blind from age 5 on. My corrective lenses were -8 in each eye and that still did not really correct my vision. I never had good depth perception or clear vision. I saw the commercial for RLE and decided to investigate. I had nothing to lose. Headaches, eye strain, dizziness, I could not take it anymore. I got the light adjustable lenses in both eyes and my vision is PERFECT! I can hike in rough terrain, see distance, see close up, see my computer screen, and no more headaches! It is a miracle... nothing less. I was not really sold until I met Dr. Kopstein... I knew immediately I could trust him and I will never let anyone touch my eyes again! I cannot speak to their medical abilities. I wanted to get a general price range for the RLE surgery. They would not even give me a range, but would only tell me if they had a "consultation." I've been in sales. Any question was treated with a standard technique to handle objections and try to close the sale (in this case to speak by phone.) I can find out pricing for liver transplants, open heart surgery, etc. I'm sure there are qualifications, and different circumstances that can impact the price. But none of that prevents someone from providing a range in prices. Refusal to provide that indicates a need to "sell" the customer or a company that charges significantly more for a procedure, or there is something they want to hide. I've been there. But medicine is a different area. To make an informed choice, I need to know that the doctor is not hiding information or making it difficult to get. Those are the techniques that are used by doctors who are less than reputable. But I want to work with doctors who are open with information. I want a doctor that tells me the whole truth. That's important for me to make a decision. There are doctors offices, and then there are sales operations where the product is "medical treatments." read more

I'm 67 yo and my vision was cloudy like in a steam-bath. Doctors I visited said there were cataracts developing but not bad enough for insurance to handle it. Frustrating! So what do I do, wait until I start bumping into walls? I probably wouldn't have passed my next DMV eye test. Glasses improved my eyesight maybe 20% at best. Then I heard about K2. What a revelation! Yes it's out-of-pocket - so what! - I can see clearer now than I did 20 years ago! The procedure was 6 minutes per eye - my coffee orders take longer! We listened to Supertramp 'Take a look at my girlfriend, she's the only one I've got' and I was actually humming along as Dr. Kopstein was doing surgery. I could see 70% better immediately but wow, when I woke up after a night of healing it was like I entered a 4- or 8k world again! It was like in Wizard of Oz when black and white turned to color. It really was! Greens were greener, blues were bluer - the world was so alive! Things were sharp and crisp, not foggy and blurred as before. And the Light Adjustable Lens allows the folks at K2 to further refine my vision with ultra violet light in the coming weeks. They more or less just dial the enhancements into the lens with the light and things get even better. Insane! Christian, the CEO is always around making sure things run top-notch and Dr. Kopstein is the best. He takes ownership of everything and you don't feel overlooked in any way. Go to K2, they're geniune, good people and their work is phenomenal. If you're over 50 your lens is getting cloudy in all likelihood and you'll need it someday in any event. It's the same lens they'd use with a full-blown cataract so jump on it sooner-than-later if you're a candidate. Christine, Mary, Mitchell and the other fine folks I dealt with (I'm sorry I don't know all your names) are also an absolute joy. Just go. It's your eyesight....who needs glasses??? In retrospect, I realize they're such a clumsy solution compared to K2, RLE - refractive lens exchange. You know who wore glasses - Benjamin Franklin. Get up-to-speed and spend less than an hour to open up a brand new world! read more

I had ICL surgery almost a year ago and it has been so incredible to have perfect vision without glasses anymore. I had a super high prescription and was unable to see just about anything without my glasses on so it has been such an amazing change for me! As far as the care I received, it was wonderful. Everyone very nice and doc was professional and kind. But post 9 months from RLE, I need readers for anything close. I was aware this could happen, but still disappointing to have to constantly be searching for one of the 36 pairs of glasses I leave around the house. Especially after paying almost 10K! I sympathize with the reviewer who was annoyed about not being able to get a ballpark price from the beginning. I had that same problem. I totally screwed up because I did not check if K2 was in my network and in the end, insurance covered only $2300 of the total bill. Of course they did not cover a special lense (which I assumed would happen) but I'd expected more that 1/6 reimbursement from Aetna! Twice, I called my insurance company twice prior to having the eye surgery and gave 2 different people the billing codes. I was twice assured the surgery was covered. But again, Aetna was not expecting a 12K charge. (Why could I not know that ahead of time?) One rep said it was the highest she'd ever seen for the RLE procedure. So... check around before you decide to go with this clinic unless you have money to burn. Looking online, the average cost for RLE IN Seattle is (at the higher end) $4500/eye. Lasik was not an option for me and my vision. I've worn glasses most of my life for reading and the past 15 years bifocals, vision getting worse and worse. I didn't even know my vision was considered legally blind! The thought of near perfect vision was a dream! But I was so terrified of the surgery. So much so, I almost canceled my appt the night before. I was so nervous the day of, my whole body was trembling on the table. Everything was a piece of cake! Dr. Kopstein and his assistants walked/talked me through it and it was exactly how they said it would be. The actual procedure was less than five minutes! Within a half an hour I could easily read my phone! With no glasses! Two weeks later did the second eye and same results. I truly have near perfect vision! Had a consolation with a surgeon. Scheduled surgery. They dialated me. The CEO -not a doctor gave me diazepam. Then they asked me to sign additional forms while I was dilated and sedated. Finally the surgeon comes in and looks at my chart for the first time. He said they don't have enough power in the lenses available to do the surgery correctly. The CEO said nothing. They are high speed volume operators. Your surgeon will not look at your file until five minute before they cut your eyes. Needless to say I left rather than let unprepared people cut my eyes open. read more

I highly recommend Dr Andrew Kopstein at K2 Vision! He is a highly skilled ophthalmologist, and the beautiful office has all the latest exam equipment, plus the staff are very kind and helpful. My cataract procedure, with both eyes done on the same day, was easy and painless. It only took a few minutes for each eye. Amazing! My vision was cloudy for just one day afterwards, while my brain adjusted to the new lenses, but the next day it had cleared up, and I could see without glasses! Thank you K2 vision!!! read more

From entering K2 vision office I was treated wonderfully from start to finish. The initial testing is very thorough and the consultation with the specialists was informative and caring. Yesterday I had the eye surgery (RLE) done by Dr Jack Tian who is a consummate professional. He called two days before the surgery to see whether I had any questions or concerns. On the day of the surgery he double (triple) checked all the initial readings to make sure everything was as ordered....he is a self proclaimed OCD individual. Nice to know when you are performing an elective surgery on ones eyes! He followed up with a call later the same day to check in. The surgery took ten minutes per eye and was completely painless. My sight was immediately improved and continued to improve throughout the day. Ironically I had my annual physical the following day prior to my follow up with Dr Tian, where they had me do an eye exam. The GP was amazed how great my eye sight was considering my age and the fact I had had surgery not 24 hours earlier. You want to restore your vision? Call K2 and ask for Dr Jack Tian.....or any of their other competent doctors. Eyesight isn't to be messed with, but when its messed up I believe they'll be able to get you seeing clearly again read more

Here's what you need to know about K2 vision. If you have the light adjustable lenses inserted, there's a 95% chance that you're still going to need glasses to either read, drive at night, or both. Also, you can experience shimmering at the sides of your vision. Their claim of no glasses, no contacts no readers is not 100% accurate. You most likely will need to wear glasses to drive at night, to do things like thread, a needle and read fine print. Overall it's a pretty good trade-off from wearing contacts and glasses all the time. read more

I had RLE last year, cost $10,000. Follow up with the Lynnwood office then my own eye doctor showed what they called pseudo cataract that's affecting my visionas a result of the procedure. This was explained to me as a possible risk but that it was a 5 minute procedure they'd do to fix it if happened. I called the Tukwila office and they were rude and short with me about it. They said they'd get proof from my eye doctor almost 2 months ago but I haven't heard back from them, even after 2 follow up calls from me. They're super nice to get you in, no interest in you afterwards in my experience...and though my distance vision is good I still need readers to see small print! (See their commercials!) read more

Wow wow wow.. I am so happy I chose to get my vision fixed here. I did have other consultations elsewhere but decided to go ahead and get my procedure done here because it was closer to home and honestly they were a little bit better in pricing. Regardless, I'm so happy I did because they ( staff,doctor,facility) were allll fantastic! It's a beautiful place. Never once did I feel pressured or nervous. They were so nice and chill. OHHH AND DR.KING even called me the day after to check up on me. Not his staff, but the doctor himself! Totally recommend this place to anyone who's been thinking about pulling that trigger. It's been just over a year since I had Dr Kopstein implant the light adjustable lenses in my eyes and it has ruined my life. When I went to Kopstein I explained that I had the start of cataracts in both eyes and a strabismus correctable with prism. He assured me that the lenses would correct the strabismus and my close vision would not be impacted. He gave examples of patients that did fine artwork after he implanted the lenses to reassure me. He gave me his home number, his assistant offered me a 'discount'. I asked many times if my strabismus would be a problem and he assured me no. He also said that he did both eyes at once, he said other people did not do that but he had allot of skill doing it that way and there was no additional risk. On arrival for surgery I was asked to sign a consent that I assumed the risk for having both eyes done at once. I questioned Kopstein about this just prior to the surgery and he claimed he knew nothing about the consent, I should have left then. My first complication was severe dry eye, which can happen but it was very painful. I was struggling with double vision post op as I had no prism to correct it. The first post op doctor I saw at K2 told me that none of the adjustments post op would correct the double vision, it was impossible and advised me I would need glasses. I was in shock. I called Kopstein's assistant who proceeded to badmouth this doctor and she said that Kopstein would call me. Kopstein did call me and was clearly agitated that I was upset about what I had been told. He said that the doctor 'didn't know what she was talking about' and he asked me if I could 'get over it'. He also said he would switch me to another post op doctor to do the adjustments. Again I was in shock but at this point I had little choice. I went ahead with the adjustments and my double vision was not improved at all ( as was stated by the first doctor). At my final adjustment the doctor told me there was no more he could do, he admitted that Kopstein had done this before, basically taken on cases that were poor candidates for the procedure and he advised me to get glasses to try and improve my vision. At this point I went to both an eye surgeon and an ophthalmologist who specialize in strabismus and they confirmed that there was no way that the lenses could have corrected my vision as claimed by Kopstein. At this point it was clear to me that the opinion of other professionals was Kopstein was making claims to improve vision that were unrealistic. As someone who works in the medical field I find this so unbelievably unethical there are no words. One of the potential complications of cataracts being removed and these lenses being implanted, especially for people that are nearsighted is PVD and that happened to me. I told K2 about this and the response was 'it happens as you get older' The PVD caused a retinal tear that ultimately had to be repaired with a vitrectomy and a bubble was placed. Surgery was able to reattach the retina but I did have some bleeding and am left with glaucoma, central retinal obstruction and a blind spot in my central vision. K2 did refund my money but I have now had two surgeries costing in excess of $40K multiple doctor visits, allot of time off work and my vision is poor. Thankfully I have good insurance and can afford the out of pocket expenses so far but some may not . At this point I am not exaggerating when I say that I am just hoping not to go blind. Please do your due diligence if you are considering K2 vision, Dr Kopstein is very charming and personable at the 'consult' but when things go wrong the staff start throwing each other under the bus, and you are left to try and find help to deal with the problems or in my case save what vision I have left. read more
