I was really hoping to take advantage of real home theater equipment with a dedicated receiver and speakers instead of having to settle for a sound bar yet again. To say that Adam was the perfect find in my quest for this project would be an understatement! From our first meeting where he swung by for a walkthrough of my space and I had the opportunity to first describe my end goal I knew he was who I wanted to work with. His undivided attention to my vision and patience answering all my questions peppered with critical advice wherever needed was exactly what I needed. I decided to proceed with hiring him for my project after our initial sync. Right from the beginning he was very cognizant of my budget and needs and did a fantastic job helping me choose just the right equipment I'd need to truly get the most out of my investment. The amount of time and effort he invested in addressing all my questions/concerns and helping me narrow down things to the best components for the space and my price range is something I will always really appreciate. We went over a few quotes and settled on the final setup after which we collaborated on purchasing the equipment(some of the components I purchased directly, while the rest he procured for me from his distributors). Adam kept me posted at every step of the way from ordering through delivery of the necessary equipment until we finally scheduled the install date once we had all the equipment delivered. On the install date, Adam arrived promptly, and set out to work tirelessly until the entire room was wired up, equipment installed and perfectly callibrated and my mind blown with the final result. He did a fantastic job of running the required speaker wire under the baseboards and mounting the equipment(including an 83" panel) cleanly, and then calibrating the entire system for the space. Additionally I'd requested some help with lighting in a few spaces. Even though the overall work went over by a few hours compared to what was originally quoted(which is perfectly reasonable for the quality of work performed), and for which I'd have gladly paid him for his efforts, Adam only charged me for the hours that he'd originally quoted me. That type of integrity is just rare to come across! His work ethic, attention to detail and honesty is inspiring and I'd recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone that has similar needs for a project. Additionally, our friends that recommended Madrona originally said they would rescind their recommendation once their fairly simple project dragged on for months. I would find a different company if I were you. Anyways, we moved into our home at the beginning of November 2013 and promptly set up an appointment with Madrona to update the home speaker system and additional home theater items. We thought the price was high, but they were recommended from a friend that was currently having work done by Madrona. To make a long story short, we signed the contract on 11/22/13 and today, 8/22/14, the project is still outstanding. Work started in January and the original team that came out to do the work was pleasant to work with but stated that our proposal included items that would not quite work with our set up. Therefore some items on our proposal were switched around and the project was put on hold as we waited for more supplies. This happened multiple times... One of our main visible speakers has never had a cover on it. We were told that it was a floor sample and that as soon as our speaker came in (we were told multiple times that it was ordered for us) they would come out and install it. We are still sitting here with a floor sample speaker in our living room without a cover on it. We tried to contact John multiple times to ask where our speaker was and have been informed that he left the company. We have now been dealing with Mike B and this is turning into a hassle also. Can we just have our speaker and be finished with this please? Additionally, our contract stated that we did not have to pay the last 10% until everything was complete, but John called repeatedly and stopped by our home requesting that we pay it because they were closing the books. I have no idea why we let ourselves be pressured by him and paid that remaining 10% - not very smart on our part. Therefore, go with Madrona if you want to pay for a never-ending project where you will never receive everything you were told you'd receive. This whole experience has been ridiculous.

We were with Northwest Security and Sound for home and small business for quite a few years. The technicians were always polite and friendly (shout out to technician Joel!). Other than billing error where they thought we owed on past bills until I sent proof of payment they were fine. Then a problem developed where the alarm would not set in our small space and NSS could not figure it out. The nature of our business is such that we absolutely cannot go without an alarm set but was told by Rick to just deactivate a zone (which would be great until someone breaks in through a door of that zone). Repeated trip charges for this same, seemingly basic problem prompted me to finally ask via email (can post if necessary) if there would be a charge to come yet again for the same problem and Rick freaked out and sent a certified letter saying they are dropping us? Seriously? That's how you treat a long time customer? And out of spite, I guess, he terminated service at our home as well. All for asking if there would be yet another trip charge for the same problem. Who wouldn't ask that question? They also couldn't figure out the cause of a repeated false alarm on a smoke detector and kept charging us for trip charges, alarm replacements, keypad replacement, and even a whole new panel and still couldn't get it resolved. Very disappointing to be treated this way. So far, so good with another local company.

They were very professional--arrived on time for both projects, wore booties over their shoes (which I appreciated because of our crawling baby), and did not go over the time they quoted. In between projects, they also mounted a large, floor-to-ceiling mirror in our master bedroom and hid/mounted some wiring from the baby monitor in the nursery. They were extremely efficient and accommodating. They scheduled the nursery fan installation at 7:30 am instead of 8:00 to finish before the baby's 9:00 nap. I would definitely call these people again for any future projects!
