In an odd sort of way, it turned out my first choice wasn't my best choice! I came across the listing and thought "OK - it's a little corny name, 'Those Tech Guys'" but honestly, if you hang around tech guys at all, you get it. I am far from a professional when it comes to IT installations, but I know enough to be dangerous. And after getting quotes to install ethernet in my 1980s circa home, one never wired for ethernet, one that just went through a significant renovation where I, in my supreme wisdom said "WiFi is great, now! Who need hardwires anymore?" was now faced with retrofitting several rooms and office with ethernet and said, this guy over here, the independent with a normal sounding company name, yeah - lets go with him! Mistake!! After schedule, and reschedule, and delays, and reschedule, we got nowhere with contractor number one. Meanwhile, Roberto and Peter at Those Tech Guys had patiently followed up several times, continued to be pleasant and professional, and AFTER I said no thank you I am going to go with someone else! So I made the dreaded call back - "So remember when I said if things change . . . " Peter was quick to jump on the phone, and walk me through things at every step. Gave me a highly competitive bid, and an install time of only a few days from when I called. They cam onsite, were clean courteous, and efficient. They played with my dog (I mean who doesn't love a bowling ball Staffy Bull Terrier mix?) and made light work of the install, and the final cost (with tip!) was even below the initial quote. This was made possible as Peter walked my home and together we found opportunities to do things more quickly, and save a few dollars along the way. In the end, I didn't choose Those Tech Guys first, but you should. No regrets here, other than I should have picked them first! read more

The install team, Evan and Cameron, are nice people. However, the job was subpar. Work started at 9 a.m. In the beginning, the team gave the impression that they were going to drop wires from the attic through soffit vents down to cameras for most of the run beside the doorbell. One of the team members had to drive back for a ladder during the job. And both finished at 5pm 16 billable hours for a 5 runs vs 6 runs and paid full price. The worst part is I was under the impression that they (during booking and pre-install) would try their best to conceal wires, but the majority of wires ended up exposed and longer than necessary. Camera down to crawl space then back up exterior wall (next to downspout) through soffit vent into attic. Vs. camera up exterior wall into attic via soffit vent. I tried contacting the team to offer to pay more to have wires rerouted to no avail. The cameras work. I'm grateful for that. read more

I hate leaving negative reviews but hopefully the feedback will help them become a better company. My interactions with Julian started off great, very responsive and willing to come down for a small 5 Ethernet termination project on a weekend at a reasonable price. However on the day of actual service communication broke down completely. My window was 1-3 and I had no notification whatsoever that their previous jobs were running late and that they would likely miss the window. At 3 I contact Julian and am told that the techs will give me a call. I get no response for the next 45 minutes so I basically pack up and leave the worksite. I then get a nice message from Julian apologizing and saying he expected the techs to call me and explain that they were held up at their first job. While I appreciated the explanation, from other reviews it seems a common recent theme that management has no idea what the non communicative techs are doing. If they have known for the past 5 hours they are going to be late...let the customer know so we can figure out a solution preemptively. To his credit, Julian eventually responds and says to make it right he'll come by and do it on Sunday himself. I tell him that's kind and to call me or text me to let me know when he's coming. Guess what Sunday rolls around and....no further texts or responses from Julian and his team. Completely unprofessional. I understand that this was a small job but the right thing to do would be to just say no from the get go. Based on what I've read if they ever show up you'll get great service...but you may have trouble getting them there in the first place. Edit: Julian did eventually contact me on Sunday to schedule a time but by now I had lost faith in their ability to schedule appropriately. read more

Some technical issues lead to me hire these gentleman. It started with a Yelp project of course! Which allowed me to receive bids from various vendors. Isiah and Elijah ended up doing the actual install. There's a story behind how I ended up choosing the most upgraded mechanical mantelmount system. The week prior Peter and Elijah came and discovered that the previous person (who shall not be named) messed up my television. A screw was broken off inside. They recommended the mechanical mantlemount which would not but added pressure moving the television up and down. I am so stoked with the service. Instead of trying to just "make it Work" they suggested a solution that would be the best. Was it a more expensive mount? Yes, but I did not feel like I as being taken advantage of and they didn't charge me a service fee for showing up the first time. Now, I have an awesome little entertainment center for my new home. I contacted ThoseTechGuys to request a home networking install, for about 8 internal drops and 4 external drops for cameras. They responded super promptly with great questions and were able to quickly set up times for techs to come by for installation. This is my fourth time having a TV professionally mounted, but the first time I've been happy with the job. Peter and Elijah did everything to the best degree. My room has a hard-to-center layout, so they spent extra time to put tape on the wall and help me visualize how my TV will be mounted. They were happy to adjust accordingly. They did some test probes to avoid making unnecessary holes in the wall, and make sure they were drilling into the strongest point in the stud. And they tidied up after the work. They velcroed my power cables so it looked neat. They even brought a little cordless work vacuum! Then they stuck around while I tested my TV and sound bar to make sure I was happy with the job. They are easy to reach, good to speak with and proved again they are the people to call. When there is a speedbump, how a business communicates with you and stands behind the work says everything. We are lucky to have those tech guys in the greater Seattle area. Look nowhere else. Their pricing is fair and competitive. You might be able to get some cheaper options but probably with a longer delay and disappointing results sometimes. Pretty reasonable price so we scheduled an appointment and liked everything until the bill we received at the end. I remember the guy saying extra costs were for the amount of time it took. Our home isn't that old and has a normal fireplace, so I would think the time is part of the original quote. There's not anything surprising above our fireplace. We were charged $830. That's an increase of more than 65% of the original quote. Seems quite high when you receive a confident quote. There was no range of price given in the quote. Kinda felt like bait and switch. I used the TV re-installation service with this company. It was to remove the existing TV and re-install a bigger new TV using the same wall mount bracket. They showed up on time. They did great job going more than they were supposed to do. They inspect the existing bracket and tightened lose bults. I asked to help the removed old TV to my bedroom and they also helped installing a TV base and moved it to the top of my furniture. Without them, I and my wife could not lift the TV. I booked them to hang my new 77" TV to replace a TV that died and install a recessed pass through for power and cabling. The reviews were generally favorable with customers citing prompt onetime service and professionalism. On Monday I booked an appointment at $110 per tech per hour for Friday via the Project system on Yelp. I interacted with the owner Julian who confirmed my appointment window from 12-3PM on Friday. I was excited to finally get TV back up in the house. On 2:30PM on Friday the day I received a text from Julian letting me know his team was running behind. This was an immediate red flag for me. Whenever a contractor contacts you just before the end of the window for your appointment it means they're not going to show up. He (Julian) said he would keep me posted with updates. The response time was very poor. I followed up with a text message at 3:18PM, a phone call at 3:43PM, and another call at 4:25PM. No response at all and the call was ended without being sent to voicemail. I want to be clear on these point as its 2025 and we all use cell phones with time stamps. At 4:31PM I received a text saying they weren't going to make it and offered me a rescheduled appointment with a discount. His crew were still on their first job of the day which is another giant red flag. Still on the first job of the day? As a fellow business owner that's a terrible response to a client when you've made a mistake. Apologize and make it right with the client ASAP. That may mean working late or on the weekend. Proposing that the client leave a giant TV box and parts in their living room and a dead one on the wall is bad business. I declined in a text message and said I'd take care of it myself. There was no response to my message which was a theme after I booked them. Super disappointed but a reminder that if you want a job done right. Do it yourself. read more
